Hi Jonathan, I hope all is well?... Yes, I honestly could say that this trolling motor was a good investment for what I needed it for. I know the company has other advanced trolling motor with GPS and spot lock.. . But still for the price that I had paid for I get a fresh and saltwater trolling motor, with the choice of black or white and a remote that is still working flawless.. In the begining I researched this product and I was very sceptical. I read that the remote was a piece of junk and the motor lock doesn't lock well and the motor will disingage and drop while the boat is on plain, damaging the motors shaft. So I gave it a go. First impression. WOW! Motor was BEAUTIFUL.. it didn't look cheaply made at all.. My electrician was very impressed with the hard ware and components that it came with.. I bought the package with the remote and foot pedal, as a secondary or plan B if the remote stopped working while on the water. But to tell you the truth.. I go on the water with just the remote with confident that the remote will not crap out on me.loll.. I have not used or taken the foot pedal with me.. but good to have if you fishing on the how.. I stay behind the helm and control it from there.. I like the motor..all that other stuff I've read that was almost keepedme from purchasing one never had any issues.. I hope this helps. Thank you for your comment.. Stay safe and blessed.

My friend how are you.. Oh yes as of today this motor is as good as I first used it.. The remote has not failed.. Still works great.. Will I recommend it? yes I will but it's plain jane. If your looking for spotlock, gps and all that good stuff this motor doesn't have it.. What it does have is remote controlled motor. I bought one and it seems to work good as far as thrust and power etc, The only thing I find it lacks is that it oversteers a bit. Its hard to fine tune the direction and I find I bounce back n forth a lot to get the boat tracking the direction I want it to go.

Hello my friend. I'm sorry to hear that . As for your question, I'm not really educated on that particular situation. My remote is still working well.. as a backup I also got the foot peddle. So I'm looking for a new trolling motor, my old one finally bit the dust, I have seen these for sale on Amazon, here's my question, I've seen these for sale with and without the foot control, would you buy it without it?
@2BearsOutdoors
@2BearsOutdoors 3 года назад
Hi Michael. I totally will suggest you buying it without the foot pedal. it will be a good option if you do get the addition foot pedal. But in reality I have never used the foot pedal, not even once. I'm very confident of the quality of the remote.. Now at first, I've seen RU-vid videos. Not many, maybe there was one or possibly 2 videos that had nothing good to say about the quality of the remote.. To my understanding, (again this is just my thoughts) Like you I was very sceptical because of some negative reviews and videos that really almost made me look for other options.. But the other options that was Affordable did not come in a wireless remote. Also I really wanted my trolling motor to be a saltwater troller, but the price just for a saltwater rated troller was very expensive, and it wasn't a wireless remote.. I think the company that makes these trolling motors had a few of reliability issues with their products at first.. but with time they had corrected the issues. So that is what I gathered with all of my research. Knowing the product now and using it, I am very pleased that I took a chance on it... But like everything, things breaks, things stops working..So my advise if you are going to purchase this troller. Make sure you have a back up. My back up is the foot pedal. If the remote gives out and stops working you have a plan B to continue to operate the motor. . I know they sell remotes along for 40 dollars. An extra remote to take along with you or have as a spare could be a wise choice..so yeah, it's a good product. My story, I needed a wireless remote troller for a guided fishing trip that was coming up with in 3 weeks at that time. I couldn't afford the wireless remotes at Bass Pro, I took a big gamble after researching this motor. 1 it was the cost.. Affordable. .. 2 it was wireless remote controlled. 3 it was saltwater proof. And 4th the color option in black or white motor . I'm very happy with my purchase after 2 years of owning it.. I hope this helps you.. let me know it you do get it and want the hear your thoughts on this motor.. thank you my friend.. Good luck and stay well.

I’ve had lots of issues with that same exact minn Kota too! And mines only a year old 🤷🏻‍♂️
@2BearsOutdoors
@2BearsOutdoors 5 лет назад
Wow..That's almost the same story with me.. I paid 75 dollars for the quick release mount. Had it for slightly over a year.. Didn't use it as much because we go saltwater most of the times and its not a saltwater motor.. the little that it has been used I was having major problems with the wiring of the foot peddle. I had it fixed twice.. Then it just gave out completely, My electrician said that a module component gave out.. a replacement to have it fixed was about 150 to 200 dollars "I believe" or buy brand new which was 500 dollar or a used one for 400 to 450 dollars.. Well, did some searching and found the Haswing motor.. For 600 dollars I get the motor of choice, black or white, both are saltwater rated motors, a quick release mount, foot peddle controller and a wireless remote.. even if I get two years from it, still a better investment than the original.. Maybe we had a lemon of a trolling motor.. loll. because I love MinnKota.. It's all I've used.. so I gave a Haswing a try, next if all fails, I save up and get me a MinnKota GPS Saltwater troller.. I hope everyone is well? Thank you for stopping by..

Ya that’s crazy, mine stopped working on me while out fishing, we did ALL the tests to see what was wrong, from what we gathered the motor itself was the issue, brought it to a certified minn Kota dealer (2 hours away) oh and they are not open on weekends...they had it for 2 weeks and then called and said when they hooked it up it worked fine 😑. I haven’t had it back on my boat yet haha what a nightmare. But yes we are all good here bud, hope you guys are well

@2BearsOutdoors
@2BearsOutdoors 4 года назад
@@scottwhitefishing hi Scott.. How are you doing.. Yeah, unfortually mine had problems as well.. The wires from 2 and 4 speed control burned out.. I ran it for a while with the working speed, than it stopped working all together. I had a electrician look at it to see if it's a simple fix, but no dice.. The damage was very significant.. Better to buy another one.. I was very close in purchasing another Edge.. I really liked it and got used to the foot peddle.. In the mix of looking for a better priced Edge on Amazon, i ran into the Haswing Trolling Motor.. The Edge was going to cost me about $500.00.. Luckly I had the base mount already.. That was going to be an additional $75.00.. BUT this Haswimg seemed like a better buy.. $600.00 I get a choice of a black or white trolling motor.. It's a salt and freshwater trolling motor plus wireless and came with a foot peddle, remote and a quick base mount.. I said why not.. So far I like how it functions, the white goes well with my boat and I could control the boat anywhere on the boat.. And if i was to fish on the bow of the boat, i could use the foot peddle and have my hand free and focusing on my next cast.. Lolll.. Thanks. Great hearing from you Scott.

Any issues since posting? Is reverse just full left or right? They made a transom mounted one and I am thinking of buying. Is aquos and haswing same brand?
@2BearsOutdoors
@2BearsOutdoors 3 года назад
Hello there.. Thank you for your comment. As of the motor 's proformance now since when first used it.. it is still strong and working great. I know they make a transom mounted troller but I'm not familiar with them but in all fairness if these transom mounted troller are built like the one that I own, well they must be very reliable and good working motors. I don't know the Aquos and gassing are the same brand but knowing how the overseas marker works, I believe that there are no trade mark or copy right laws in China.. Then again I could be wrong but it could be two different companies producing the same or similar products that looks identical. All I know is the motor I have because I'm very impressed with the quality at such an affordable price that I had to make a few videos of it. I will have to do a follow up video on this motor soon.. thank you friend.
@johnpoppa3554
@johnpoppa3554 3 года назад
@@2BearsOutdoors thanks for the quick reply. I did more research and the transome mounted version (Cayman T) appears to be made to mount aft. If I were to mount on the bow of my pelican bass raider I would always be operating it backwards or in reverse. Not sure if I want to do that or at least have the look of having the wires in front of the head of the motor. Alot to consider. Again Thanks.
