They don't have seatbelts cause in case of fire or flood etc where a quick exit is required they can get out fast. Seatbelts would slow down the evacuation and there's a chance not everyone would have a chance of escape if too much time is spent trying to unbuckle every single kid. PS a perfect example would be the school bus fire that happened few days ago. If there had been seatbelts there's a huge chance not everyone would've made it out. I mean the driver was able to get the last kid out mere seconds before the entire bus went up in flames

hays cisd uses the older model buses for school trips we have seatbelts on the newer buses.

​@@technoselenasthat's a bad idea. Only busses in my state that have seatbelts are the special needs ones. Regular busses don't for the reasons I previously mentioned about the need for quick exits PS the special needs busses have seatbelts cause don't want a special needs kids moving all over the bus while in motion and possibly hurt themselves

I don't trust Cement trucks. I've had at least 3 near misses with cement trucks while driving my school bus. It's like they see school busses then assume the bus is going slower than it actually is and pull out in front. Like do they not realize that if a bus is going down a 50 mph road, doing 50 mph the bus will be mere feet away from them and it takes awhile for them to get up to speed after coming from a complete stop 🤔 PS I had to basically slam on the school bus brakes each time cause the cement trucks pulled out in front as was few feet away. I'm sure the trucks saw my bus's grill closing in on them after pulling out in front of my bus like a idiot
