Haze in a Spray Can & Digital fog! 

I doubt I would ever add haze to my videos but this is crazy cool to see - both practical and the CG stuff - thanks guys!

This is the kind of episode that I love Film Riot for. A totally practical (practical as in useful not an in camera effect) demonstration of a product or idea that is very useful for film.

this is perfect! i'm shooing my 2nd college film this weekend and bought a fog machine for the same purpose, but i'm going to give this a try!! thank you!

I've also filled a suitcase with fog from a fog machine, that's really nice for dramatic effect when you open it up.

Wow this is great, I can really use something like this in my creative photo shoots. Question though Ryan, any idea on how it would affect someone with Asthma? Some generic spray paints have been known to make me black out even in a paint booth.. Thanks, Joe

For my friends that cannot get there hands on this stuff, heat up a few droplets of glycerin with something like a candle. In a few minutes I was able to haze up my entire living room. It lingers really well and would probaly be quite a bit cheaper than the spray. Not as portable and convient maybe but hey ;)

When i vape (big clouds) in a room i get the same effect! it`s chaeper and tastes good

What's best haze in a can, vs optical lens diffuser filter or post diffusion like adding a blur to achieve a similar look.

Question, is this safe with hot halogen bulbs used for lighting? It says flammable on the package; do you think the vapor would catch on fire if enough of it concentrated around the light? Even if not sprayed directly on the lights? Thanks

Too damn funny!!! Although, I was bot able to get thick mist from my can. Tried over 1/2 a darn can, but...nada! I used it indoors, sprayed at blinds with bright sun pouring in...nope!! Oh well...glad to see it does work for someone else. Thanks for the video!!

Yaay! This is my first live episode in two years!!! And today was one of the very few times I understood his movie reference.

+Film Riot What sort of MOOD do I convey to my audience when I add haze/fog to my normal shot? I'm guessing it's for an epic feel in sci-fi or a spooky feel in a horror. But what about normal shots like what they showed in the car and just sitting on the couch. What sort of "feel" does that help convey?? (I know Film Riot used haze in the Adobe and The Frog project. That was a comedy, yet it used haze in the house... Hmmm...) Please help!

what's the difference between this and vape? I have used vape in my short movie cause I couldn't get a fog machine and it ended up looking amazing. Also, it's pretty expensive, 12 bucks for couple shots?

Hi guys quick question, what camera do you use for these type of episodes in front of the green screen...I know for a while you were using 5d mark ii and the c100? Also do you use one wide and one tight camera or do you zoom in post production? Thanks to anyone who can answer these for me

Hi there, I was wondering if maybe you could do a video on how to create a beginners short film. Like a more or less blank slate for those out there looking to make a small video. For example, i've been watching film riot for the past two years and have enjoyed it very very much. But many of your films include having amazing cinematography cameras and microphone, and also an entire production crew. So maybe you could possibly create some sort of series, in which, you have a set budget, and you must go out find your gear, get a few people together and make a short film. Just a thought -Edward :D
