@@unger_cnc is the low latency mode working with the hdzero goggles? Do you feel more latency than analog or HDZERO?

@@airdevil21 yeah the 100fps mode is the low latency mode. It does have more latency than hdzero/analog. It won’t limit you and it’s easy to get used to especially since the image quality is so much better. I haven’t tried the 540p race mode on the vrx through the hdzero goggles yet. Have only tried it on walksnail v1 goggles. That mode offers a really nice low latency that feels like fixed latency. It’s very stable like hdzero and doesn’t stutter. Image quality is notably worse. I prefer 720p 100fps.

Yeah I agree, less detail to encode with snow vs grass. Even so, it’s still very similar to dji with vista or air unit and now I get to enjoy oled screens and not need to bring 2 pair of goggles with me. And for guys who have never ran a system like this, will be astonished with how clear the image is.

The OLEDs of the hdzero goggles, aren't they 90Hz refresh rate ? If so how are they running 100Hz ?

@@hristiantodorov3923 oled runs at 100hz with 720p. It just works because Carl coded it. I verified with slow motion camera. Same screens as walksnail goggles

There’s a variety of designs on thingiverse. If you don’t have a printer, you can go on Etsy and find some for sale. Should be a couple guys selling them on there.

Yep that’s exactly it! There’s a few different designs for the rail mounts. Just attaches to those with double sided tape and I can pop off the vrx really quick if I wanna use hdzero instead.

Vrx doesn’t really show any downsides at the moment. Only wish it would record 90fps instead of 60fps. Maybe walksnail will release an update to fix that.

Yes you do! Just sold my hdo2 goggles since the hdzero goggles can do it all.

Going good! I find no difference in latency when using hdzero goggles with vrx. I’ve done side by side tests with the Walksnail v1 goggles. I think someone made a 3d printed design on thingiverse that will fit over true rc patch antennas so you don’t have to take them off each time you wanna fly walksnail. I’m currently using a low profile clip on 3d printed mount for the vrx module and it’s quick to pop on and off.

I was referrring to the V2 goggles vs this setup. Haven’t used the G2 goggles yet! Nobody around here has them so I can’t try them out lol

@@unger_cnc ahh man it's miles better. The 810p picture quality of the V2 goggles doesn't do justice to the O3 experience. But the latency is a bit better. But I have always hated the screens that dji used in those goggles. Theses systems really shine on oled. Plus you now have 1080p live feed on the oled. It's quite fantastic. So I chose dji O3 for my variable latency digital system. But for everything that I don't need the added penetration for I am usually grabbing my hdzero 1watt and apex for my style of flying and how latency sensitive I am these days.

I’m confused about the 720 vs 1080 p - when connected to my dominator version three goggles, the resolution is limited to 720 P but does it have a better resolution on the HT0 goggles?

@@tomsop nope I’m still running 720p on my hdzero goggles. The only differences in this test were between 60fps and 100fps. Your Dom v3 goggles are limited to 720p 60fps like most other analog goggles. Hdzero goggles can do 720p 100fps as well as 1080p 60fps. I prefer the higher frame rate so I stick with 720p. The 1080p comment above was referring to the new dji system on their new goggles doing 1080p 100fps.

There’s a bunch of different designs on thingiverse you can print out or get someone to print for you. They clip onto the rail system on the goggles.

Not sure what the vrx x1 is. But the walksnail vrx shown here is digital. The goggles accept an hdmi input and displays the digital video sent by the vrx.

Yeah walksnail doesn’t render in 100fps dvr video. More of a firsthand experience video.

Haven’t really done any of that kind of flying lately. I can almost guarantee that the avatar system will outperform hdzero for penetration hands down. Since it can send and receive data packets, it’ll have the advantage for sure. Hdzero is great for low latency flying and it’ll work fine for freestyle and racing but you can’t really push your limits like you can with DJI or walksnail.

@@unger_cnc Right now I am using HDZero, but I want to stop racing and go back to more freestyle. That's why I am thinking of buying the avatar VRX (perhaps with the HDZero goggles)

@@kumquad_fpv you’ll like it. Then you can keep some of your hdzero stuff and still fly the avatar system too. I’m in the same boat pretty much. I don’t do a bunch of racing but it’s nice to have hdzero if I do actually get out. Once you go hd, it’s hard to switch back to analog.

Can certainly do a side by side. Yes I’ve tried the new 90fps cam from hdzero and it’s awesome but the resolution is only 960x540p in that mode. Could do a 720p 60fps comparison though.

Really? I watched his video quick but I didn’t hear him mention the hdo2 goggles having a beta 100fps mode. From my understanding, those screens are only capable of 60hz refresh rate so 100fps wouldn’t be possible.

Yes. Hdzero is working on the goggle firmware to help with this. I guess 60hz input skips frames. You’ll just have to run 720p/100fps for now until they fix it.

Update to the latest firmware on the hdzero site. That should be the only thing you need to do right away.

Added latency is like 3-4ms from hdmi. So basically you won’t notice any difference in latency if you used the WS goggles vs hdzero goggles with vrx. Hdzero goggles are definitely the best option right now. They offer so much more than the WS goggles. From what I have researched, humans can only detect 12-15ms latency changes. So 3-4ms added on hdzero with walksnail vrx would be virtually impossible to notice.

@@TTGZDOG I would still go with hdzero goggles. I hear the walksnail screen field of view isn’t as big and the goggle fitment isn’t the best. Plus if you go walksnail goggles, it leaves you no options for expandability. Hdzero gives you lots of ways to expand.

Flying a custom frame I designed. I show it in my first walksnail vrx video. It’s a 5” frame designed to fit any video system and have protection for the electronics.

@LukesVids26 - thanks. I currently have the Eachine 800D goggles and looking to upgrade, just haven't decided to what yet. I've heard the Cobra X v2 is a noticeable improvement but then again I'm also hearing the HD Zero goggles in analog is even better.

@@grege2383 the cobra x goggles would be a good natural upgrade since you already have box goggles. They have the hdmi input too so you can use hdzero or walksnail. But the hdzero goggles have better image quality due to the oled screens. Would be a bigger upgrade for sure.

It was saying 24-25ms in the goggle osd. I’d say it feels pretty close to that.

The goggles auto detect from the hdmi source. So just set your walksnail vrx to 720p “high frame rate” and it will be 100fps.

@@unger_cncso I have the hdzero goggles and bought the WS vrx bundle with the ws avatar pro kit 32gb, it says it supports 1080p 100fps on the website do you know if that is true or not ? I can only get 100fps in 720p Edit: looking at the vrx specs it does say only 1080p 60fps. So can you only get 1080p 100 with the Walksnail googles and not the vrx ?

And in theory 720p should give you a better flight performance than 1080p.

Yeah 60hz wasn’t very good. It was flyable on that older firmware but it’s really bad on newer firmware. 100fps is butter smooth.

No it’s 720p 100fps for the walksnail system. Go check the specs. Hdzero has a 540p 90fps cam that also looks amazing.

Yeah bardwell just made a video and was talking about how Carl some how found 10frames to work with the 100 fps mode with walk snail. If you put it to 100 fps and your goggles dont support it, then your screen just goes blank. And you have to reset the walksnail vrx.

interesting ... so is the higher bit rate only good for flying cinematic indoor for now until WS update firmware or a good pair of patch antennas will solve the issue ?

@@gonebdg I think some better antennas would certainly help. Plus I just noticed my head was facing the baseball field the whole time. The trees were off to the left and my head was slightly facing right.

I’ve noticed this myself today. It’s something you wouldn’t expect especially coming from DJI but - the higher bit rate setting does make it worse, just works differently on WS.

@@JohnCuppi funny part is the lower bit rate looks very similar. Only a slight drop in image quality vs dji where 25mbps kind of sucks
