This message really broke my heart, but it explained a lot. When men talk about why they love their partner, they always say things like 'I love her cooking', 'she always listens to me' etc... They won't say 'I value attentiveness in a woman'. When a woman loves a man, she loves a character despite bad behaviour, and the only time she fells out of love is when the behaviour affects her judgement about his character. We see actions as proof of love, they see it as a reason for love. When a man stops caring in a relationship, she thinks 'He stopped caring, he doesn't love me anymore.' When a woman does that, he thinks 'She stopped caring, I don't love her anymore.' This also explains why us women have a hard time not taking it personally when he does wrong. We love a personality, and we assume the same, and if action is proof of love, for us it means they don't love who we are. The funny thing is that men hate women who have their transactional mindset. If you love money from them, you are a golddigger. If you want sex and don't want to give anything else, you are a sl*t. If you want marriage or a family, you are desperate. I was so disturbed I just asked my partner about this and he confirmed that. He said he loves my personality as well, but having talked about this I think it's more of a 'like'. I guess character and offerings are a package, but we value those two things differently. Although I don't actively look for financial gain, this is priceless relationship knowledge.
