I block them and if that doesn’t work, I change my number when I feel like I’m being drained. I’m not even wasting my time giving them advice. That’s too much convo & too much work for no reward. He kept trying to drag me down with little comments and comparisons. I was more successful than him but he knew my weak spot (my crazy family) so he used that constantly. Shera is right, going on strike works. I stopped giving in all ways and expressed what I was doing and he would try for a while to regain my affection but it never lasted. That was my cue to leave. The energy transfer is real. He developed some goals after I left for good and put some effort into his life and is still trying to compete with me still- 2 years later of not speaking! Still! Me? I'm drained still from that experience and I stagnated for a good year trying to recover emotionally all while he harassed me online. He knew he was beneath my standard and I didn't learn until it was too late.

The key to weeding out those men is by having high standards, boundaries and confidence. That’s all there is to it. They will always test their luck and try to talk to you but having standards (ie requiring dates, gifts, bills paid etc) requires way to much effort and money for a dusty
