"I will come for you" is absolutely chilling. That's not the threat of a hero, it's the promise of a father.

Messing with a Superman in a diner is like messing with a Skywalker in a hallway. Is just something you don't do.

imagine you're holding an egg in your palm and smashing onto the table but trying not to crush it, thats how to be superman.

There’s something so cold about the way he said “You hit my son.” Tyler Hoechlin needs the credit he deserves, he’s definitely one of my favorite Superman actors

I love how even while being completley ready to threaten this guy he walks into the diner so politely.

I just noticed he doesn't actually give HIS name. He says "I'm John Kent's dad....Lois Lane's husband?" He doesn't actually say "I'm Clark Kent." He just describes himself by the people the thug hurt. Interesting directing tip there for line delivery. Nice

“It’s fine Clark I handled it” that line wouldn’t even help any dad or husband.

He is not only good as Superman but his portrayal of the mild mannered Clark Kent is also fantastically done. Even though that piece of shit threatened his family, he showed restraint and said sorry before he left.

When Clark says, "I will come for you," *Batman Nods In Approval* 😅

You don't tug on superman's cape, you don't steal his son's truck, you don't hit his son, and you sure as hell don't pull a gun on his ill wife.

That “I will come for you” was terrifying knowing it’s coming from Superman

This is not a job for Superman! “He’s not going.” Well excuse me while I go change my shorts....supes took a backseat, it’s just a pissed off dad....who just so happens to be a sweetheart and can crack the planet in half.

Just shows Clark Kent can be equally as terrifying as superman

For a man who is used to using violence to get his way and is a bully, there must be a unique fear when you try your usual routine on someone and you bounce off them like they're a steel beam and then they hold you down like you're a very small child.

Definitely a great homage to the diner scene at the end of both versions of Superman 2. A great Clark Kent scene of him angrily protecting his family, while still restraining himself to not severely hurt the person who threatened his family. Superman and Lois is such a great Superman series.

I think after Christopher Reeve,Tyler is my favourite Clark,and I can hardly describe how great Bitsie is as Lois.

The “I will come for you” was so fucking cold. Every nuance of what those words meant was reflected in his tone.

That little worm really doesn't understand the gravity of the words " I will come for you" from this mind manner father.

I want to see this guy pop back up towards the end of the season with a haircut, wearing a suit, having become a productive citizen, all because Clark threatened him!😂

Dean Cain said it best when he played Superman in an older Lois and Clark TV show: "Clark Kent is who I am. Superman is what I do." But the guy who entered the dinner in this scene was not Superman. It was Clark Kent. A decent, peaceful man who got pushed when his family was directly threatened. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually forgot he was Superman at that moment (it would explain why he apparently forgot to pretend to be impacted when the guy pushed him the first time, especially in front of so many people).

I like the subtlety of telling the guy “I will come for you “ not “ I will find you “ …. You can’t hide you can’t talk your way out of it all you can do is sit where you are and wait for the end

I love how when he is leaving the house Lois says this isn’t a job for superman and Clark say oh, he isn’t going. That was So cold.

Loved how it paid homage to the Superman 2 Diner scene but it also took inspiration from Man of Steel. The bar scene where the trucker tried to push Clark with no avail. I love that this series pays tribute to ALL of Superman's live action adaptations.

Homme complete cut out Lois: “Clark, this isn’t a job for Superman.” Clark: “Oh *he’s* not going.” Literal chills. I am in love with this show’s portrayal of Clark as a father.

This also shows the amount of restraint he has learned to have. Think about it. Superman, when slamming that guy on the counter, could have "accidentally" (a) snapped the guys neck in the process or (b) threw him through the counter, floor and several layers of the Earth's crust. He has matured into a very conscientious and careful superhero.

Who else is sad they didn't get to see this guy connect with that right jab, just to watch him break his fist on Clark's jaw?

Remember, he had to restrain himself on a level that we can't even comprehend.

He held himself back even by human standards. He could have easily snapped a finger or broken his teeth and no one would think it's out of the ordinary

I love the fact that he could have shown up as superman, yet he went as his normal self which made a statement to those who grew up with him, the nerd has grown up and his family is not to be messed with.

I love the "I've made a huge mistake" look on the guy's face at 1:26

This show really does encapsulate a modern Superman in this day and age. Fucking good work all around. The simmering rage in his eyes and his voice. The fact that despite all this, he still manages to control himself, and not give in. The way he slams him on the table, the tiniest bit more force, and he could just break his skull. Such great acting.

His Clark Kent and Superman balance of the character is sooo good!!! They really gotta give this show more seasons.

One thing I like about this scene is how you see someone accustomed to using violence suddenly find someone he can't overpower. I mean, really think about what it means to be held down by Clark Kent, the guy who can lift trucks one handed like they were toys. The immediate sense of powerlessness and danger must be immense! And I have to say, I love the amount of restraint Clark shows! He easily could have torn this guy limb from limb, but manages to be just the right level of menacing. Maybe he learned it from Bruce. :D

This is the best superman depiction. I really don't like superman because he is ultra powerful but i just love this show and Tyler. The characters of both superman and Clarke are superbly written and have their own challenges and overcome them brilliantly. Just brilliant.

One of my favorite scenes ever from Superman and Lois. I love the bemused look on Lana’s face when she puts her hand on Kyle’s arm cuz she knows what’s up with Clark.

This is my favorite Superman. Ever. We don't just see the nice, polite side of Superman like in literally any other media. We get that most of the time in the show, but we also see a way mire vengeful/protective side that I absolutely LOVE. Protective Superman just does it for me.

You cut the best 2 lines out of this whole thing. Lois: This is not a job for Superman. Clark: He's not going.

Superman showed Super Restraint. As a father/husband myself if somebody hit my boy or pulled a gun on my wife...daughter watching or not, that probably would have been his last meal.

Superman should have pushed back a little when he pushed him. It's big suspect that a full grown man shoves him and he doesn't move.

Scumbag begins to realise he miscalculated when he literally hit a brick wall trying to shove Clark. The force Clark uses w/ ONE hand, slamming the dude on the countertop... while maintaining enough control to not crush the dude's skull. And he doesn't just let him up. More like a one-handed yank that easily could've thrown the guy through the building. Satisfying beyond words. Tyler Hoechlin's Superman/Clark Kent is masterful.

To be able to control ya emotions and still be hella enraged knowing u could literally pluck him into the atmosphere is crazy also this acting is top notch

Now imagine if Superman was some sort of brutal anti-hero who isn't afraid of killing in his rage. This trash of a man was extremely lucky.

Guy’s lucky to have simply been slammed on and held by a guy who can move several planets out of orbit in 1 go… That is superhuman restraint right there as he could easily have splattered the guy on the table…

that is the single most STRONGEST moment of clark's life, the sheer absolute RESTRAINT it took him not to crush that awful man after hurting his family, holy hell

I LOVE when he just bounces off Clark’s chest. Man of steel did it, and now my favorite portrayal of Clark did it. Show him what’s what, Kal!

Nothing against the movie Superman actors but why isn’t this man one of them cause his portrayal is amazing

Great character acting by Hoechlin - you can almost feel the rage he has inside him and his desire to just let loose but he knows that even the tiniest application of Superman level strength will kill the guy and Clark is not a killer. So much restraint and control even when he slams him onto the counter - he could have easily broken cheekbones or his nose but didn't and that guy threatened his family.

Tyler has gotta be the most comic accurate live action super man we’ve ever seen. I’m so glad they gave him his own show not tied down by the CW network

Come on you cut out one of the best lines of the scene when Lois says this is not a job for Superman and Clark says he's not going

I wonder how much he had to dial back his strength when he slapped the guys face to the bar. I imagine he would have to practice not accidentally killing people with what for him was gentle physical contact.

I gotta admit this was definitely a cold moment because Tyler's performance as Clark was awesome love this show

People with true power do not need to raise their voice, a soft whisper has more effect than the loudest shout. Fear the wrath of the righteous man. A true father will do anything and everything to keep his family safe. When that father is also Superman and you have hit his son and pulled a gun on his wife? Every breath you take, for the rest of your life, is because he allows it. Clark has a nearly flawless memory. Even without it he will remember what was done till his last days. Even more than all his power it's his morals and convictions that has truly set him above all other heroes. I'm sure he had a few passing thoughts on doing something more........ extreme. As always they were just passing thoughts. I will say, for the first time, that someone has gotten close to the (in my opinion) best on screen Clark/Superman. Christopher Reeve of course. Understand that this is extremely high praise. And Tyler keeps impressing me. The way he said "You hit my son" with a stone face and flat detached voice was a distinctive change from the everyday Clark. It came off as scary as if he said "I'm here to kill you." He only needed the tiniest fraction of his power to handle this guy, or kill him if he was that way, and that is all he used. He didn't threaten him either. He explained. If you even think about doing that again or any of the other harmful things you have been doing I will come for you. He came to the diner because of what happened with his wife and son but also took the opportunity to add the rest in. That's just how Clark/Superman is. You know the other things bothered him too. That's what makes him the iconic superhero. I have never lied to myself and thought if I had his power I would be the same. No, I wouldn't take over the world or rampage through the streets because I was angry. However I also wouldn't have the incredible restraint he has dealing with truly bad or even evil beings/people he faces constantly. After the second or third time having to stop someone from trying and/or killing more people I would probably not let there be a next time. I have morals and I don't want to hurt anyone, but if having those morals means people keep dying at the hands of the same person I would have a limit. Superman MAY have a limit but it is so far above anyone else's it is almost the same as not having one. And even though he does not have to he follows the law as much as possible. Turning the bad guy over to the "authorities". Do not kill. So while I might make sure someone does not have the chance to kill more people, Clark/Superman won't let the actions of another person make him change or even bend his own standards. Again - it's his morals and who he is on the inside that make him the best, not his power. There have been others with kryptonian D.N.A. that Clark has had to fight and stop. Other beings with enough power to actually hurt him. Almost all of them are "bad guys" because they end up thinking might makes right. Superman is might FOR right. All the alternate realities where he goes bad or gets controlled are not nice places. To end (and stop babbling on) I say again I wasn't really sure about Tyler because of how they handled him on a certain show before Superman and Lois. But from the start and consistently since he has shown not only to be a very good actor but one who can portray both Clark and Superman very well. Especially when you see the most powerful being on the planet have to work at being a good dad like any other guy! Or when a certain look from Lois can stop him mid sentence. Alien or not he lives as part of humanity and has a family. No superpower is going to make that easier for him than it is for anyone else. Luckily he is just as extraordinary as a person as he is as a superhero. Much respect to Tyler in bringing Clarks struggles along with Superman's to the show in equal measure. He does both very well. Now I'm going to play the clip again and enjoy seeing him do those very things.

Not only did he feel the power in his failed shove, imagine being held down effortlessly, then the ease at which Clark picked him back up off the counter. Simply moved at will, as if he was nothing and feeling every bit of that.

I like how Lana's husband was ready to come to his rescue with a bit of a smile on his face like "welp, gotta help the ol nerd out in a minute". Then he sees him in action just sits down realizing he wasn't needed.

This is one of the best Superman scenes ever filmed. It demonstrates a great understanding of the character and what makes him great. The anger is palpable and the restraint that he needs to show is unimaginable. It gives insight into how Superman needs to constantly restrain himself, and even this doesn’t make him lose control. Tyler Hoecklin portrayed it perfectly

Bear in mind this is a guy who can go toe to toe with Darkseid...

The crew deserves a raise for this entire scene. This scene shows a total Clar Kent moment, a shade of him that can get angry, yet keep his rage in control. This, ladies and gentleman, this is a MAN! He got pissed, but did not go for direct revenge. He tried reason, and used force when it was absolutely necessary. This really shows Superman completely - he is the cape that inspire hopes and suns and rainbows and whatnot, and he has this shade too if you screw with him. Don't have words how to really describe the scene. It was a masterpiece.

Let’s appreciate the acting here, he is holding his rage in so well, he could kill him with his pinkie finger with no effort yet he just slams him down while making it look like he’s trying. He’s had to hold back his entire life.

I love how the music is gone except for a soft beat that sounds like it’s Clark’s heartbeat, it even speeds up for a few beats when emit first looks at him, it would be terrifying if it started to speed up and he got angry
