While there certainly is some merit to your statement, Donald Trump really took the game to the next level. Other candidates had very formulated plans for healthcare and what it would cost/achieve. Trump's plan was litterally "I will be better than anybody else! I don't need to tell you how now, because you KNOW i'm always the best!". While there certainly were weak points and falsehoods in other candidate agendas...throwing them into the same bucket with Trump is not fair. Please, whereever you stand on the political landscape, don't fall for this "Trump is bad but the others aren't better" sentiment. Listen to WHAT politicans say and judge them by that. Hold them accountable for it. They are NOT all as bad as Trump. Convincing the West that Democracy is shit because all politicans are like Trump is exactly what Putin and other dictators want us to believe. We have the power to hold our politicians accountable for their promisses and actions. Don't give this up lightly. It's mankinds greatest achievement to date.

Zephyrus_anim8 Mostly because Republicans want to turn every issue into a partisan one. The ACA (The actual name, Obamacare is in no way its official title) was actually written by Mitt Romney but the second Obama said "Hey that actually sounds like a good idea, let's do it!" the Republican party hated it. With some adjustments the current system could be doing even more than it is now, however Republicans have been blocking any improvement whatsoever in an attempt to make Democrats look bad. Honestly I hate both parties because they're both corrupt. The only difference is that the Democrats are 70-80% corrupt vs the Republican's​ 90-100% corruption. That's why the Democrats still have some *shred* of obligation left in them to try and make important issues non- partisan and at least attempt to help the general population. But in general somebody needs to slap Congress until it gets its act together to actually cooperate and solve important issues. If 70% of our politicians weren't bought or idiotic America could very well be the best country in terms of healthcare, education, and have the lowest poverty rate. Maybe even lower crime. However we're stuck like this because the people in charge act more like children throwing tantrums than adults in charge of the most powerful nation on the planet (Our military plus our nuclear weapons kinda cements that. But honestly I'd prefer to have just an average military and great healthcare rather than what we have now).
