Massive shoutout to the Korean National healthcare system. It literally saved my life and was very reasonably priced for excellent service. During covid, the governemnt took great care of me in a nice hotel with healthy food and checkups. I'm so thankful I don't have to suffer with the HELLthcare back home in the US!

Completely agree with the fantastic healthcare here and glad to here that the country has looked after you. For some reason, however, I always assumed you were British.... haha

Me too! He's great to listen to and could clearly talk for hours and hours. Just a wealth of knowledge, positivity, and, of course, generosity to come and speak to us. Lots of different episodes coming soon!

Lots of interesting rabbit holes. I have never thought about how how constructed realities can be toppled by dementia. This seems like realization that might be good at helping us predict the future so that we can sense it but not be surprised by it. I liked hearing how we can update some off the educational materials to include additional layers of complexity. I wonder how it could be introduced so that kids can be kids without sounding like a depressed middle-aged man by university.

How can kids be kids? That's a really interesting question. Wouldn't it be great to get young real young kids on the podcast?

Very interesting points brought up just in the first 1hrs some anecdotal observations running a small bar here near a university. All the foreign students will pay for their drinks indivudually.and also order food that should be shared individually. On the other side they are often surprised when korean friends pay for them. Also in regard the stool samples in schools that may not exist in schools but it still exists in the food service industry. When i was registering my business i was asked at the local 구청 to do a stool sample during my required "health check" and it surpised me because the women handed me something and just said yoy knownhow to do this right and i just said 네 thinking it was a urine sampled only to be surprised it was a cotton swab 😂. On top of this even the required hygiene education i was given made a big point about the bathroom and the kitchen separation while not mentioning anything really about food handling and temperature control. Healthcare and its development is a very interesting topic snd something ive never considered. Keep up the great work and guests!
