Fun fact about this song... Soviets had radio controlled mines in Finnish territory. These mines were listening for a triple-sound radio signal on a specific frequency. When the Finns realized this, they began playing Säkkijärven Polkka on that frequency non stop to interfere the Soviet radio signal, as the song had enough sound variation to confuse the mines, and to ensure they never hear the trigger sound. This song was therefore played on said frequency for 3 days non-stop, for over 1500 times, until proper radio interference machinery arrived. Now that is weaponizing music at its finest.

I was guaranteeing the indenpendence of Finland as Poland to lower world tension, the germans invaded me, then, just a month later, the soviets started the winter war early. I was listening to a mix on spotify and this randomly started playing right after the Finns called me to battle
