If you have a short/medium wavy beard, I follow this tutorial after every shower, unless I’m staying in for the night... the only time I let it dry naturally; which looks like a birds nest. So on avg twice a day I do exactly what dan does in this video. I use light product before heat, then I re-hydrate & style w/ product after the heat.

Is it ok to use the heat brush everyday?
@HCkev
@HCkev 3 года назад
@@derkwest I think it's fine as long as you use beard products to prevent your beard from being dry, such as bread oil and conditionner(when you wash it). Also, I would avoid using more heat than necessary, if you have thick and coarse beard hair, you'll probably need to set the heat higher, but wouldn't advise to use the same heat level with thinner beard hair. In case of doubt, you can always start off with the low setting and gradually increase until it works the way you want.

Hey Dan. Another technique I use with the heated brush is take a second brush and come in from the opposite side as the heated brush to sandwich the hair and pull them straight. So for the sides I would push the hair out with the non-heated brush and in with the heated brush and them pull the two brushes down together to straighten the hair without getting the dip. You should try it sometime and see what you think. Cheers

I don’t mind the waves, but I really like it well groomed, grey beards are stubborn. I have found that after oil is applied and 5mins lapse after combing I use a round brush. I work from the underbeard to the top, brushing firmly thru the beard. In the winter or windy days I will apply balm, summer butter. Then I take the round brush on the backside and boars hair on top and brush firmly thru. Finallly I will use the boars hair to gently style. All is all about 5mins

Had a major curl/dent on the right side of my beard. Don't have a heated brush, so I use hair dryer and a round brush. No matter what I did it would not tame it. So went to the barber and had 3 inches trimmed off. That curl came from nowhere so I'm hoping a trim and different style method will keep it from coming back. Time will tell.

Hiya Teach. Question. Can we get an update on this video? Does it work with longer beards like you have now? Or am I just good with the blow dryer and my wooden comb? Also would you recommend applying heat thru a brush over a hair dryer with a longer (8-9") beard? Last week I cut 3" off the mustache (holy crap I can eat in public again) and the girl says it looks great! Now you just need to get your beard shaped. I go and have my barber and shape it. Looked fantastic! I see girl two nights ago and she says "so when will you get your beard shaped". And the fly away's are starting to piss me off to the point I might start using balm for a bit. Hey brotha, worth it always relative and I think I do a good job of saying that in the videos. It is on sale for $80, and that is a lot of money! It is a really nice tool to have, if you can afford it. I have tried 5 heated brushes now, in the $20-$100 range. This one is just simply the best. It gets my waves and dips out better than the others. It is easier to use and I feel like it has the least damage on the beard. What is the science behind that? I have absolutely no idea lol I just know it works. A bunch of guys who have tried it, agree with me. Trust me, I would loveee to trash this product and get some street cred lol I do not get any commission or money either. Summary answer = easier & works better. Is that worth the money difference? @shookadance 5 лет назад
RockinRedneck09 do you use a heat shield or anything? What’s your routine when you use a heated brush?
@RockinRedneck09
@RockinRedneck09 5 лет назад
I used to use some heat shield, just spray argan oil, but it steamed and sizzled and I was afraid that was boiling the liquid and hairs. I usually use the heat brush after a shower and after my hair is all dry before putting oil in.
@shookadance
@shookadance 5 лет назад
RockinRedneck09 The steam you see coming off the brush when using a heat shield spray and/or beard oil is just the product being heated away. Using a heated brush on your beard, out of the shower, without any heat shield or beard oil is 100% Damaging your beard... After a shower, or washing your beard, always gotta put oil in the beard. All those natural oils have been washed away, and using a heated brush on the beard hairs is just burning them suckers. Even when you just rinse your beard, your still stripping away some oils. After showers, always beard oil. Don’t be afraid of any steam you see. It’s just the oils being heated away. Using the Argan oil heat shield, or a beard oil before the heated brush is the way to go for sure. Hope this helps! Also, check and see what temp your beard brush is... problem with a lot of the beard brushes people are buying in the $30-$40 range are that they get too hot. Their heat settings are wonky, and by saving a few bucks, you’re actually damaging your beard. Quality is quality. That’s why people complaining about spending $80 for this brush in the video makes no sense. You want a Fiat or a Porsche? Ya know what I’m sayin haha. You get what you pay for. A brush designed specifically for a beard, is always going to be better for you than a generic heat brush. That’s not to say there aren’t good heat brushes out there that are cheaper... there are... but are there better heat brushes for your beard than the Kuschelbär... doubtful. That $80 is going to get you a superior product, better results when used correctly, and is going to last longer due to quality of the product.

Is it okay to use this brush for styling everyday? For example after the shower and beard oil?
@DanCBearded
@DanCBearded 3 года назад
Yup! Just listen to your beard. If it's too much, your beard will tell you

Damp beard, apply oil, wait 3-5 minutes, heat! Don’t use heat in any other situation

You're going through the hair too fast. It takes time for heat to do anything to a hair. You're just basically brushing the beard and a tiny bit of head is going through as it passes over. Go slower and you'll see a real difference. Take a look at the before and after...there's not much difference. As for the guys who are afraid of burning their hair, beards are almost always thicker and more resilient than head hair. Think of the fashion models who use hot curling irons and rollers on their hair on a daily basis. If a beard hair comes out while you're doing anything, it was time for it to come out. Men have dragged cars with their beards. Brushing it with a heated brush isn't going to make it come out before its time.
