the fact most of the song sounds more "evil" and the requiem section is way longer and sadder really makes me think this would fit a lot for a Minos VS Gabriel fight
This feels like if there was a difficulty above violence. If there’s legitimately a mod that gives Minos a phase 3 with this song, my life would be complete.
3:11 Sounds like it'd be a final phase for Minos where you just have to survive his relentless attacks until he finally caves in, this is a really good cover
It's been 12 hours after Machine slaughtered Gabriel. Father's light left his body for eternity, but he died as a brave warrior, not a coward he once was. V1 is sitting at the layer 9's throne and processing the results of the collected blood. Process was interrupted by some loud noises downstairs 9-2 level. Followed by screams "Judgement" and "Die", Machine already knew who it was. Standing up from its throne, V1 started to get ready for another fight. Error. Process was interrupted by unpredicted punch in the camera. V1 was sent flying to the wall which was behind the throne. It was not the king machine once won against: much higher, stronger... material. While getting ready for the next attack, King said: "Machine, i found you. The path of stained blood leads to you. Even Sisyphus couldn't stop your thirst for violence. As you see, i did not die then. I was about, but my people... my kingdom... all the humanity... it called for help. I defeated death, but it seems it wasn't it. Death. You have become it. And so, to put end to your crimes... no... to you at all. Thy end is now!" Machine finally restored its stability. Interface says: "Level P-3 // Reqiuem of Humanity. Minos Prime, King of Humanity"
This idea is worthy for act 3 of ultra kill. This could be what hakita makes act 3. It showing minos versus gabriel fight would make it perfect for act 3.
I love the fact you turned his death scream into like a cry of anguish. this whole song (no offense Hakita my beloved) sounds like a improved, more emotionally charged version of the original
I've been trying to P rank every level I'm goateed with the sauce when it comes to kills and time but style I suck at do you know how to get good style?
@@hund1949 this^^ I haven't been going for P rank since it's just not my thing but jumping and sliding gives you more points, which also reduces your hard dmg more and will generally make you take less dmg too since you're harder to hit
the dead stop at 3:00 sounds so impactful, an abrupt and sudden end to what was supposed to be his revenge, his justice for what gabriel did to him, his last chance at redemption. no final fight against heaven, no rebuilding of his city, no more chances to right a wrong. combined with the music it just sounds so sorrowful, as if he was so close, if he had just beaten v1, if he had just tried a little harder, if he had just FOUGHT a little harder, just if... all he can do is apologize to deaf ears, as his kingdom was already gone
This cover REALLY gets that Minos is a tragic character. He brought a renaissance in the lust layer and refused to allow the inhabitants of lust to be punished for simply loving each other. Then Gabriel killed the guy and locked his soul away in the flesh prison while using his body as an enforcer. When V1 frees Minos prime, his first thought isn’t about V1, it’s about Gabriel and what he had done to the people of the lust layer. And when V1 kills Minos, he simply asks for forgiveness due to him being unable to bring them salvation, and he dies regretful. This cover really understands the idea of Minos’ tragedy, with is different key and much longer use of the requiem leitmotif which exemplifies the tragedy of his character. Why did I write this in my graphics class?
it feels sad, as what minos went through just to free those who sinned lust, because he believed eternal punishment for loving one another was just unfair. fails and dies to a horrific blood fueled machine, failing to free his people in the end. good work with the cover.
my face when I'm sent to hell for lust so I build a society in hell to make it less of a punishment, but an archangel named gabriel descends to smite me, trapping me inside of a prison made of flesh for eternity until a machine run on blood itself frees me:
It's so... tragic, and hateful all the same. While the originals intro almost feels like the game screaming at you "say goodbye to your shins, machine," the intro here sounds like Minos holding back his rage and tears moments before he unleashes all of his pent up rage and sorrow towards the heavens for wronging his people. And that Requiem section, the brief fake out along side the dialogue feels so raw and hurting. Also I have to admit I like the main chord progressions here way more than the original, especially with the primary leitmotif. Theres this overall finality to it that makes me think of if Minos got his own game where you play as him after breaking free from the flesh prison, and this would be the fight between him and his own puppeted corpse, filled with rage as he pummels it down and all the while cursing Gabriel for his sick ways, vowing to tear down the heavens with his own hands. Because I haven't alluded to it enough, I'll say it outright: I fucking love this.
The anguished scream hits really deep for me specifically. I was playing a character in a MUD not long ago, who quite literally died for nothing, knowing he was dying for nothing, knowing he would be forgotten, and knowing that he left behind people he cared for. But he had to do it, by his own code of ethics. Even if you are fully convicted in your actions-It may not make it any easier. That character died with a picture of his wife in his hands, holding open a portal home for fifty others, staring down the event horizon of something truly terrible as it consumed him. He gave a speech, his soul torn to nothing, his divine reward for an impulse decision to give recompense for his own sins. He died crying, raging against the inevitability of what he faced. It was kinda crazy having that memory ripped up from storage by such a small thing. I like this cover.
after beating minos prime and learning his lore, this cover makes it so much more emotional and impactful, the original song is hype for the boss fight and you'd imagine ultrakill is just a funny shooter with v1 memeing on everybody and yet the game can have such badass and tragic characters like King Minos, absolutely terrific and emotional cover i love it
One thing I've always appreciated with these type of covers is the incorporation of the Voice Lines because it just adds so much weight to the song. Ultrakill has some truly great moments but what you've created here was beautiful Normally after beating minos prime he gives his speech and dies bleh But the way you incorporated his final voice Lines gave me chills I don't know if it's just the tone or if you altered the playback speed for the Lines but the delivery just feels so much more poignant And that final scream It's not the scream of a dying man. When I close my eyes it's the sound of rage, of a king who has truly lost everything and has failed his people. Maybe I'm thinking too deeply on it but when I listen to this with my eyes closed, that final minute and a half is art personified Good shit my dude
Oh my dear God i am literally drooling at the insrumental man! This is a beatiful beatiful piece of music. Just wanna say i am absolutely subscribed now thanks to triageGremlin recommending your channel on his yt!
This definitely seems like if you had to fight Minos Prime for a second time. It's calmer, it's sadder, and it feels vengeant. "Creature of steel, did you truly believe thine judgment wouldn't arrive? You will not get impunity for thine wrongdoings. Now *DIE!* (Immediate dropkick when "die" is said)"
@@25bitgamerx36 if you haven’t gotten P ranks or killed him yet then he would have different voice lines and introduce himself like he does when you first meet him. Or the fight could be like the first if you haven’t killed him yet.
The waltz at the end with the voice lines?? Also the whole different key! The violins are very pretty too, damn! Thanks RU-vid mix for giving me a nice one! Love this, good job!
Sounds so f*cking amazing! I want to ask you something, could you make a version without the voice lines? I like them indeed, but i want to hear this remix while i'm playing other games. Anyways, this remix is so ULTRAKOOL
Such lore, such a character, such music... He is criminally lighter than Sisyphus. And this cover... He must have three phases, where in the third he becomes angry and at the same time tuned in. He changes his light skin color to blacker and new attacks are added, fewer attacks are parried, space is distorted from his attacks, waves of flesh fly back and forth. and all this under this beautiful soundtrack. Great job dude
God, you did amazing on this. And the way you implemented the use of the after death voice 3:08, it honestly sounds so incredibly dramatic and climactic AND sorrowful, like in a good way! LIke it's the end of a great time, or just shows how much you went through on your journey and here lies the endgame. I love it!
this sounds like a more sad, desperate, and intense version of king mino's theme. i could imagine this being his 2nd phase if he ever had one. something more grand than minos. you'd expect a king who wants to avenge and save his own kingdom that was wronged to suddenly have that "I'M NOT DONE YET" vibe coming from him.
I have been listening to this on repeat while on a 9 hour bus ride from a week long camp, watching the rapid lightning snake across the dark sky is so unexplainable
Every piece of music work that can be applied with the tag “badassery” needs a sick guitar rift/solo. That being said, I can’t put this under badassery, for this is “beyond badassery”.
You know if Ultrakill was an actual old school FPS from the 90s. I could imagine this being a remastered version of ORDER used for an Ultrakill reboot similar to Doom (2016)
