I remember hearing this song for the first time, I go down to the comments and read a huge one about Minos Primes lore and that part of the songs plays the exact moment im reading how tragic minos primes story is. I teared up so bad when I read smth about how he lost everything, all the love he had for the children who he was seperated from, torn and shattered. That part of the song is one of my favorites ive ever heard in any boss theme. It makes me want to stop fighting him and just let him feel peace, even if it's by taking out a camera

Minos was given to me in 10 attempts, 22 attempts took the flesh to prison. Minos is easy to read, he shouts out his attacks, his combos are parried not to mention "JUDGMENT!!!!" which are parried
the fact that my name is also gabriel made my first time seeing minos' intro sequence like 4x more intense because it felt like he was threatening me personally
Holy shit I just realized: Minos was killed for believing that desire was not a sin. Yet his soul manifested because of desire, because of the people he protected seeking his victory.
@@lunyxappocalypse7071not really he desired his soul back. That's how prime souls are made. By the souls sheer willpower to continue fighting allows it to manifest.
Idk where it went, but I remember seeing a comment describing how in an alternate timeline Minos won and was absolutely ready to tear into Gabriel like a pit bull in a kindergarten and I absolutely fucking agree.
If thy end is now, then that means you got judged, and that means you are weak, and that means you are useless, and that means you are about to get crushed, which means you are about to die
who would win The king of the lust layer of hell, having been beheaded after reforming the layer into a utopian world, had his soul locked in a living prison, and forced to watch his own corpse destroy all that he has ever loved and owned, trapped with his guilt and belief, Minos literally made his soul's determination and will go beyond mortal standards, so much of this, that he doesn't even need a physical host, he can literally exist out of pure willpower, he can manipulate his form how he wants, and has superhuman speed and strength. I feel like minos is actually the good guy in this story. He has a completely valid reason to kill you, and even so he does it in an honerable way, making sure you know when he's attacking.

I love how Minos is what’s called a “prime soul”, meaning that his willpower is so strong that he doesn’t need his husk to manifest and promptly break your neck.
Crazy how the king Minos in IRL Greek mythology was known for being a unfair judge and a cruel tyrant yet in ultrakill it’s almost as if he finally grew a heart and in turn has finally become the fair and righteous ruler that the lust layer saw him for.

Sisyphus was quite underwhelming. He's merely the dessert after finishing the barrage of enemies before him. Sisyphus is at a similar difficulty to minos, having basically the same attacks but a bit faster and harder to parry. I think this is reflected well in the OST, having Tenebre Rosso Sangue be a much more energetic song than Pandemonium or War, with the latter two being in essence similar to P-1's soundtrack.
And if you want to go mega philosophical, you could say that if everything branches from chaos, order is another construct conceived from chaos to decorate it into acceptable patterns for those who perceive it.
This song is honestly amazing. It hits hard as it really conveys the "fallen king" better than anything I've ever heard. And with that Requiem leitmotif shows you how melancholy and depressing Minos and Lust's story is. And this song is truly amazing because it makes you realize *you aren't the hero in this story.*
You have no idea how much I was hoping you would beat Minos Prime and he would just be like "Hey nice warmup, i'm gonna go dropkick Heaven into the core of the earth, feel free to come help in Layer 8"
@@turtlelord8021 that would be funny, but with the current events, now minos would probably be confused, I mean he still wants to kill gabriel, but he will congratulate him for fucking slaying the holy council
I like Minos Prime because you're basically facing a fighting game player in a first person shooter. You rarely see fights that mix fighting styles THAT hard.
Can I just say quickly, if we got a cosmetic only upgrade to the arm that had the snakes that are around minos prime' arms on our arms that would be so sick as a trophy of completion.
man, would be cool if we got skins for arms from P level P rank completions. P-1 for feedbacker, P-2 for knuckleblaster, P-3 for whiplash, and P ranks on all of the P levels gives a skin for an arm we have yet to see.
Coming back to Order and P-1 is now sad, we genuinely crush the hopes and dreams of a kind and just ruler who came back from death only to perish a third time by the hands of a machine We learn what a cruel warlord is and what his prime soul can do We are the baddies :(
Look at the good part, after all life in the universe is slayed, there will be no more suffering! And God's plan for a clean canvas to start all over again will be done!
Didn't see many people talking about this, but the music producers did a phenomenal job relating mino's theme back to his origin in the lust ring by adding a motif of requiem in this song! Just though that was cool. :)
Specially because requiem in death at 20,000 volts sounds more subtle (This level is basically a piece of the lust revolution), at glory, it starts to sound stronger (the room where glory starts playing is the room where you enter the prime door) and finally, the true requiem w/Minos prime, it's like we're getting closer to the king of lust (something similar happens with the spinal staircase)
You can hear the immense guilt Minos feel for failing his people, It sounds like the screams of all the dead souls, their only sin was wanting to live a real life.
The concept of prime souls being souls whose willpower has reached critical mass is just so amazing. By trapping Minos's soul in the flesh prison, his anger and his regrets that he wasn't strong enough to protect the last functional human souls kept reverberating back to himself, causing him to essentially go supernova during his fight with V1. I can't wait to see what the story will be for the other prime souls.

I absolutely LOVE how prominent and meaty the percussion is in this track. The repeated back and forth rhythm it falls into every 3 beats combined with the occasional frantic set all slammed out on one instrument just really give it this "unyielding force" sort of feel, and I think it plays so fucking well into Minos' character and the song title, not even mentioning the melody itself.
Its kind of neat how in ultrakill lore The power of your soul manifestation in hell is mostly based on how you greatly you are remembered. Minos was just a human, but a great king The BELIEF in Minos and reverence for him is what gave him nuclear dropkicks in the afterlife. (edit: this means Conquerors Haki is a thing in hell. V1 is gaining it as he goes) (edit: FUCK. WE HAVE TO GET SLAP BOXED BY GUMBALL NICANTUS WATERSON PRIME)

@@raccocooon7305 the parasite infested corpse shambling around Lust isn't king minos's actualy body, it's the husk that manifested after his death and the reason we can even fight him is because the angels went out of their way to remove his soul from the husk, traping it in the flesh prison.

Seeing Minos on his own, with no lore knowledge, you'd already think this was a really cool boss. But looking into the lore, you find what Minos did, how he tried to recreate the Lust layer, but was struck down by the Heavens, forced to watch as his own corpse tore apart every thing he loved. You are not just fighting a boss. You are fighting a man who has lost everything. A man who is so determined and has so much willpower that he doesn't need a physical husk. A man who wants revenge for his fallen kingdom. This is the best boss fight in the entire game so far, if not, it is the best boss in any video game.
The worst thing you can do to a man is take away his meaning. The worst you can do to yourself is cross that man's path again. (idk who made it or if this is the correct quote)

I just noticed that Minos was the king of lust, and he thought loving one another shouldn't be a sin, he LOVED his people Same with Sisyphus, he was GREEDY for power Damn, in my 300hrs, why didn't I noticed this
For anyone who wants to know the attack patterns: -Judgement: Teleports next to you, then drop kicks you, there's a small window to parry him, if accomplished, the damage is negated and you get a window to attack him. -Thy end is now: Throws 4 punches towards you, the last being parriable, dash trough the first 3 to not get hit. -Prepare thyself: throws 2 kicks, and after that he summons a snake to bite you, only the snake is parriable, more easily accomplished by dashing backwards after the second hit and then parrying the snake. -Die/Crush: He jumps upwards, stays in the air for a few seconds, then smashes you creating a shockwave in the process. He can throw single attacks and not give any voicelines, none of them are parriable except for the snake throw. When he's below 50% health and you're playing on Violent mode, his attacks are no longer parriable, the snake being the only exception to this rule.
The coolest option for the 3rd prime soul fight we get in my opinion would be Adam, the first man. Even further below Brutus, Cassius, and Judas, he stands alone in Eden (because a boss fight in a flower field is always good), banished to remain in the paradise he desecrated in retaliation against god. He cut down the forbidden tree and killed the snake as they were only created to manipulate Eve. Armed with his axe he’d be like a hack n slash character more than Minos’ fighting game. If minos was mad imagine the father of mankind’s reaction.
Ooo and the buildup could be you walking through Eden to get to Adam as he monologues from the stump of the tree. Right before you get to him I don’t know what comes before but last thing he says could be “I cut down the fucking tree.” *fight starts*
And his boss music would be a calm melody and with the boss room being all of Eden you could fit every traversal mechanic and it’d look really nice to see the beautiful landscape slowly become a bloody mess
@@lil_ursa wrote this in 10 minutes or so but you inspired me so here is what I think the monologue would be like "A machine? This far into heaven? You should leave." Well then, let me tell you a story. 6 hours after I came into existence, 6 hours after the love of my life did too I heard a repugnant soft whisper. It whispered and whispered for hours, days, weeks but time didn't pass. It just kept whispering louder and louder until I found who was whispering, it was a snake on one of the branches of the tree. It kept pushing a single crimson fruit for us to eat, a fruit we were told not to eat by God. And I ate it." The platform gets slightly more intense with time based branches popping out of the walls for you to jump on and get across without falling from the skies. "I found myself banned. A few years after I had children of mine, one of which killed his own brother. But I never moved from the gates of this paradise, grasping onto the memory of what it looked like. Just before I died, I finally noticed; God was all knowing. How could he not know the snake was going to tempt us? That's when I realized, the snake, the tree, the fruit, they were there to manipulate us, to force us onto His little plans. I was banished for the knowledge again, this time, inside this garden." There's a checkpoint in front of you, but you can't see what's on the other side of it due to incredibly bright light. "So I did what any reasonable man would do." You cross the checkpoint, revealing a massive beheaded snake corpse by the side of a rotten fallen tree in the field of pink flowers. Adam gets up from the stump he was sitting in, using his axe as a cane to assist him. "I cut down that fucking tree."
Usually in Ultrakill every boss is trying to keep up with you, even the faster ones like Gabriel or V2, but with Minos you're trying to keep up with HIM
I only think the first fight of Gabriel is him trying to keep up with you. For the second fight, I think the first phase is just the both of you throwing yourselves at eachother with no defense and just spamming everything, and the 2nd phase is a repeat but gabe enjoys it.
@@SunerteThe 1st phase of Gabriel's 2nd fight is him throwing himself at you mindlessly because he's angry af, the 2nd phase is him clearing up his mind and actually concentrating. So basically he starts tilted and transitions to in the zone. But V1 is just in Ultrakilling Mode™ so they win anyway.
