Please remember this is a renovation folks, it's not suppose to look all green and fabulous 😂. Don't forget, you can't do this to all hedge types. Thanks for watching 👍 FOLLOW UP video now live: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3wF6nyD0dd4.html

How long will it take for the hedge to regenerate and cover the bare spots that you had to cut away? I need to do some work on my property and im wondering how long its going to look rough before it comes back. Also is there particular time of year its best to do this work? Winter/Spring/Fall?
@Mr.Marvel_78

I did this for 12 years for a large school district. And every time I did this, some staff member would flip out and go rant to my boss on how I ☠️ the hedges. So my boss would explain to them that I didn't ☠️ the hedges 1.And 2 the hedges weren't uniform shape and size. And that fixed them 😤

@chefdan87, it depends on the hedge. Some grow faster than others. Watering also plays a part. In a nutshell fast growers 2-3 weeks, slow growers 3-4 weeks.

Not every hedge can handle hard pruning. Never prune junipers like this. Also in cold winters or hot summers this is ill advised.

It really needed it. The branches on the inside were so matted and clogged. No air flow, lack of sunlight would eventually start the killing process for that hedge. Good job!

Was studying how to prune apple (fruit) orchards - and they have a tractor with vertical and horiztonal industrial hay blade cutter, that literally sets the cuts and heights. You just mow down the length of the rows, and jiffy spiffy all is cut to exact specs. Just rake out and rake up the cuts, and the whole area is pruned to pristine shape. Might want something like that with a small riding lawn mower tractor design.
