It's satire that's the point. It's a systemic problem the USA already has. "Other countries" have been trying to warn you peeps about that for years because the USA was obviously going to repeat Germany and so many other countries'mistakes - the USA doesn't teach world history only whitewashed "American" history which makes it vulnerable to becoming a nationalist and fascist echo chamber. The USA came dangerously close to losing democracy due to this climate of nationalism making it easily susceptible to a populist leader and Trump is showing no signs of giving up takeover attempts now that he's built up almost unchecked power for years.
I always felt weird about the pledge of allegiance. I felt like a member of the Hitler youth when i was forced to recite it in school by our homeroom teacher with his military haircut
For me it felt something meaningless to recite but was required, kind of like saying 5 Hail Marys. Nobody means what they're saying, they're only doing it to not get punished.
@@josecampos7157 Yep. When I reached Jr. High I only said it on Mondays and when someone asked, I told them your reason. It needs to mean something. Also, since I'm an athiest, I remove "Under God" since it was added in the 1950s during the Cold War. The US is not a theocracy -- yet.
@@lohphat I’m a Wiccan, so I’ve been omitting the words “under God” too for the same reason you did plus the fact that it implies that anyone who doesn’t adhere to a monotheistic religion isn’t a “real American.” We recite it at the beginning of every monthly meeting at the firehouse, and until five or ten years ago it was also followed by the Lord’s Prayer (which I refused to recite since I’m a non-Christian). Raising my kids to respect all beliefs meant that I also told them to skip the words “under God” with the Pledge in school. Since we live in a “red” county, that got us into trouble with the schools here, so I developed a work-around and told my kids to say “under gods” instead. Funny how skipping two divisive words gets their shorts in a knot, but the addition of one little sibilant that truly shows respect for ALL Americans regardless of religious belief slides under their radar!
God the Father told us through his Son that the greatest Comandments are to love God with all your heart soul and mind and your neighbor as yourself. He gave us the prescription but it's up to us to follow it. Many do.
This would be funny if it wasn’t so true. Reminds me of my KKKristian mother who forced me to go to her cult church. She sounded so much like Ms. Betty that all I can see is that hypocrite who put me in harms way and required decades of therapy. Happy to be atheist.
I was put in a pentecostal group home at 12 years of age. Not the kkk, but just as lunatic, with many similarities. I saw girls I thought were strong, get fished right into to the sheer insanity. I spent the next 2 years trying to get kicked out. I didn't want to be bad, I didn't want to be in that whackado world and there was no way in hell they would ever convert, subvert or have me accept their nonsense in any way, shape or form, no matter how many bibles classes and sessions they tortured me with. This is how I know the whole thing is a crock. I've read it and seen how the clowns who worship it, act. I'd rather read the Brothers Grimm, they have way better stories. And they're not pretending to be something they're not.
I am a gay male, who was raised in Southern Baptist Church, guess who got to enjoy that accredited therapy pray the gay away? Did wonders for my mental health.
So u a member of the kkk . If not it got lost in translation. ( U could have put Karen with 😡😡 or something else.) But I guess you're a member of kkk since u like to advertise
I share these with Republicans knowing full well that they won't understand the humor in it because they don't understand satire, but hey, that mile away blank stare I always get from them is still very entertaining 😉
You keep telling yourself that all people in a group are exactly the same. Don't know if you realize it or not, so I'll point it out..... Categorizing an entire group based on your limited interaction with a very small percentage, is the very definition of racist mentality. While the mentality is defintitely there, doesn't necessarily make you a racist, but it does show that the perpensity is there. It still makes you prejudgmental. With all this going on on, you forgot to remove your Biden blinders and didn't even notice that people like you are exsctly what's wrong with this country. " They didn't vote the same as I did. So they must all think the exact same things, and live the exact same way, since I dissagree with them. I can't believe how horrible they are " For the record, this has nothing to do with Democrat or republican, because people like that exist on both sides. This has to do with ignorance and lack of education.
@@righty-o3585 Just because you think you so clever. Don't need to vote for or love Biden in order to recognize that a majority not a small percentage of republicans have given away their self determination for a red hat. Now call me a Biden lover and go find the next facebook page to cry on.
@@chrishammock9009 @chris hammock What's there to feel clever about? And you know what majority means? It means NOT ALL. Thank you for proving my point, that was awful nice of you to do.
@@righty-o3585 "Lack of education" is exactly the point of the video. I am an Australian and cannot believe that States and/or counties in the U.S.A. are allowed to approve a curriculum that ignores the science of evolution or the history of the civil war regarding slavery. How do you expect your next generations to participate in the world if their basic knowledge is so lacking.
Hey GDR Cinnamon Pony, why are melanin deficients like you and Betty so racist? Seriously, Critical Race Theory teaches us that you have internalized racism and NEED TO PAY REPARATIONS NOW!!! BLACK LIVES MATTER!!! ✊✊✊
I love this woman. Today's ditty seems especially appropriate in view of the horror that former guy has wreaked upon our nation of late, and even though he's in the background, still seems to be perverting our country. Right on, Mrs Bowers!
“Mandatory obedience to a piece of fabric…”. Nailed it! I remember back in the “olden days” of my youth (the 60’s), there was a Christian classmate who refused to recite the pledge because it was in violation of one of the Ten Commandments… something about “having no other gods before Me…”. Clearly, he was the only student to actually consider the meaning behind the pledge rather than just rote recitation to avoid punishment. Sure, refusing one indoctrination to uphold another isn’t ideal. At the very least, it’s not as hypocritical.
You were indoctrinated in your own home by your parents to hate Christians and Jews. Then you went to “public schools “ and it was reinforced by that system. Your ignorance can be cured; Just as Sin can be forgiven. It’s your choice!

Even as a kid, the idea made absolutely no sense to me. If God were a sadistic human father from a dysfunctional family, I guess this would be possible... but even then, why torment the "golden child" to feel better? Abusive parents always punish the "scapegoat" children instead, projecting all their shadow aspects on those kids and punishing them for their supposed flaws. The whole idea of a vengeful god who can only harm his favorite child to feel better is truly bizarre, and it also doesn't fit with Jesus's reference to God as "papa" who loves everyone. The Old Testament "god" and the New Testament "god" seem to be entirely different beings, when you read the details. The OT god at one point even told soldiers to bash the heads of the babies against the walls of villages they were ordered to slaughter en mass. Several gnostic sects concluded the OT god must have been an evil demiurge (a kind of lesser god) - after all, it apparently required blood sacrifices, which it demanded as a sign of repenting from breaking its rules. People into dark magic report that lower vibrational beings from other dimensions do feed on life force energy from blood sacrifices and murdered animals or people, so one has to wonder what all that was about. Going within to get in touch with the highest ultimate reality, I personally find a loving energy, not a murderous bloodthirsty one. So the crucifixion as a required repayment doesn't add up at all, not even acording to Jesus's theology of God as a loving consciousness.
I'm so grateful to finally hear an accurate rendition of our history. Knowing that America ('merca) is the best just fills my heart! We don't hear near enough from Ms. Bowers.
Yes. Somehow, I knew the Soviet's loss of over 26 million people during World War two made them the biggest loser. Such losers. That's why the States cut them out of the Marshall plan and began the Cold War. I mean, clearly they got to Berlin first because the States lost less then 500,000 troops and civilians in the Allied campaign, never dragged their feet getting into the war or demanded the Soviets delay attack on Berlin. Soviets are such losers.
@@averagefanenjoyer8696 No. The Soviet influx and absorption of the Baltic States, Poland, occupation of Berlin/East Germany, was direct response to Truman's threats and demonstration of nukes upon Japan. Again, where Japan surrendered days after Soviet troops invaded China and Korea in small force, as their Western front troops massed in Siberia to invade Japan. The Japanese had no interest in the Soviets slaughtering them, where the Americans would negotiate. In fact, Potsdam and Yalta were where negotiations were made of post war. Churchill even acknowledged post war agreements. The Truman doctrine is what killed post war agreements of Roosevelt which included financial assistance to the Soviets, just as the US had done during the war. If Henry Wallace were not forced out of VP by corporate democrats, we'd live in a much different world today. BTW, if you wonder why many Russians do not trust Americans, this is it..... That and we silently supported the Czar, along with Crown of England, during the Revolution.
@@chuckhaugan4970 The U.S, provided Food and fuel to Leningrad to help the starving people there during a brutal winter that saw thousands die from starvation and exposure to the cold!! Many more would have died had it not been the aid WE provided!!! The fact is, Truman refused to give the Soviets aid after the war BECAUSE they wanted to annex all those Baltic countries, Poland, Romania, Hungary Czecoslovakia, etc. He was trying to prevent them from becoming the NEXT "Nazi Germany" trying to take over all of Europe!!!

As direct result of the Truman Doctrine, my mother's family couldn't go back to Lithuania. What are you talking about?
Not really. My sister worked for the largest textbook dsitribution company in the US in the 80s. Even then, all the books had to be approved by Texas, as they were the largest purchaser of textbooks. The Lone Star State has been instrumental in the dumbing of America for decades.
Sadly, with Texas writing most of our textbooks (I assume they won't bother with the Mathematic textbooks) I think we are rapidly heading in this direction.
I couldn't believe it when I heard it the first time. They apparently had decided to omit Helen Keller and replace her slot with Moses, in their history textbooks. Because he's really a historic figure. They left out Hilary Clinton on purpose, too. Why would anybody want anything from Texas? Especially an education, jfc. Gob smacked in Toronto

I saw a Hawley speech a couple of years ago that really worried me. He's a real fascist and much smarter than Trump. Unfortunately it was on C-SPAN, I didn't record it, and I haven't been able to find it since. He doesn't usually talk the way he did at this one event, and now I can't even remember what the event was. :(
Thank you, Betty! I've spent my share of time reminding U.S.-ians that they allow people from other countries on the internet. We even speak English and everything. The nerve.

The People's Democratic Republic of Korea is a wonderful democratic republic, where the people have a real voice in things. It says so right in the name!
I’ve been in school meetings with women just like Betty. They told me, as a mother of a disabled child, all while smiling, “ Our children don’t want or should be exposed to your child. We just know that don’t want him with them.” They were the Director and Assistant Director of student services. Game on!
Mrs. Betty Bowers! And my day is made so much better. Glory be. Thank you for the history lesson that shows what the great uneducated masses actually believe. And thank you for that whole Texas approved textbook part, because the majority of textbooks in this country are put together in conservative religious Texas.....
Never heard of this channel. Immediately clicked on it, because I thought it was some crazy Evangelical con-artist lady and thought it would be the usual pathetic money=salvation crap. I was WRONG, obviously!!! Absolutely Fabulous. BRILLIANT. Going binging now. And subbing. I'm a God-chick, but have always believed that religions were humankind's worst idea. Ever. 👏
@Alfred Wedmore - Religion is not the same as moral teaching. One uses the other as a studio back drop forthe sub message, "give me your money and get permission to do evil." Latest "religeon" - Trumpism.
This is some of the best content on YT, but what is really sad is that people really believe this and that the big book of B.S. should be taught in schools not real science
I was in college in the 70s, and I now realize that much of what was taught to me about American/World history was an avoidance of the truth or an outright lie. Much of the time, ir was a total distortion of the truth which many people still believe today. Some people think they know, but they don't......and it's not their fault! This is particularly true when the Cilvil War (American) is the subject!
Thank you for calling out looks-based bullying in Christian classrooms. You have no idea how healing that was for me to hear. I begged my parents to send me to public school, but they refused. At least if the bullying had happened there instead, I wouldn't have associated it with the whole "Gods Love" concept. As it was, I was convinced I wasn't worth anything, because Christians (of any age) hated me. I figured that "God" hated me too. I first thought of suicide in 3rd grade. Wasn't the last time though. It was always "Christians" pushing me to that edge. Never anyone else. In my adult years, I've know a lot of kind, caring, decent non-Christians and only a small few Christians I can say the same thing about. A good 99% of the "Christians" I've known in my adult life were as terrible as the kids I went to school with. If Christians would realize that they aren't any more valuable than anyone else, it would make a massive difference. If they would realize that they aren't always "right" about everything, that would help even more. And they wonder why so many kids come home from "Good Christian" schools and commit suicide... Well, it's not shocking to me. At all.
TO: justrosy5, I went through the same thing in school and it was much worse at the Satanic level with the Mormons. The Utah Mormons tried to drive me to suicide and had several highly inappropriate Relief Society meetings in my "honor" but they didn't know that I am strongly anti-suicide. And they didn't turn me away from God. With God I endured all. stevemiller369@aol.com
Parental brainwashing, religious brainwashing, institutional educational brainwashing, sensationalized, commercialized, prapgandasized media brainwashing, on what is good, bad, better, fake, real.... We all evolved to be verbal storytellers, all brains are evolved to the same point, it is the character of the individual to care, learn correctly. There is no grade or graduating to never have to learn again. There is only your mind and you are certain, your knowledge works correctly every time, in every situation, will all the variables in play. The rest is meanness.
This isn't too far from how history was taught when I was growing up. Except that we spent a million years on the Civil War and WWII so we wouldn't get close to Vietnam before the school year ended. And, yes, we were taught that Murica won Big Two.
Mrs. Betty Bowers, you have really outdone your Christian finest in this episode, teaching these important facts, rescuing those poor children from Gawdless Communism! Glory!
I will admit that when i first saw the channel name and the video's thumbnail, i believed this was going to be serious. *That's* how bad things have gotten. Something that looks like parody had to be looked into because parody has become reality. I started a new job in 2010 at a local government agency. The first staff meeting I attended, we were asked to stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance. I was floored. I hadn't been required to recite it since 4th grade which was in the early 1970s. I was not warned that I would have to declare patriotism at work every quarter.
