Hi Michelle, I’m a bass player/guitarist and have been playing for many years. I have been experiencing hand numbness during and after playing for prolonged periods. It has recently gotten worse but these hand exercises have given me great relief, especially during long days in my little old home studio. Happy days! Thank you so much and best wishes. Bruce, Canberra, Australia.
From a fellow bass player/guitarist: I have been experiencing the same symptoms, which began to appear 3-4 months ago, causing numbness, specially in my right hand thumb. I just came across this video, and I'm glad you are getting some relief. I'm gonna do these exercises, hoping to get better. Keep safe.
Amazing, I have been putting up with this for years. When I swim my hand goes numb with pins and needles in my hand after a few laps. Now no worries. Thank you, thank you. 😊😊😊.
thanks for these...i had injured my left wrist gardening...it's taking forever to heal and now I get woken up out of a sound sleep with left hand numb and in pain. These stretches really helped me!
I am a hairdresser and started having problems with my wrist and fingers tingling, so seriously thank you for this video! I am going to start doing this more.
Thank you so much from Alaska!!!! I just recently (within the past couple of months) started developing major symptoms! I searched for help and here you are! I did the exercises and already feel relief in my left arm/hand/fingers! So very grateful for the knowledge you have shared in this wonderfully well-thought-out instructional video!! -Elana
Thank you Michelle'. I just came across your exercises. They are most helpful. I broke my wrist last year and only recently have my fingers begun to tingle and go numb. I have found your way of describing the exercises amazing and clear. Thank you. Angela 🎉
I should keep track of when my fingers go numb and when they don't so maybe I can find something that triggers it so I can avoid it. I am retired and enjoy using my computer but find typing slow when I have numb fingers. I have tried waking them up by shaking my hand in the air for a few moments but I could feel the numbness going away with both of your exercises. I will use these each time my finger begins to go numb and see if it keeps them from going completely numb. I am glad I can search for the information I need and glad for people such as yourself who take the time to put videos together and upload them onto RU-vid.
Thank you for helping me I've got Depersonalization-derealization and panic attacks a lot so this helped my wrists so much they were hurting and are much better
I did these exercises after work today. I am amazed at how quickly the numbness has diminished in my thumb, I work in retail and fill online orders using a device in one hand and pushing a cart in the other. I think the repetitive motion all day at work is the cause. Thank you for posting!
Thanks Michelle. Just started these exercises but I think they will help. Been stretching which gives a little relief but then the numb tingling returns. Extreme stretching is clearly not the best answer.
i play guitar and i have been having problems when playing this has helped, i will continue especially before a gig hopefully it will relieve the problem thanks.
Thanks so much miss..i was getting too much pain in my hand and that numbness in my hand was killing me.but trust me this gave me so much relief..kudos for this video...really helpful
Your exercises provided great relief just after three to four days of doing them. Thank you so much! It would be really helpful if you could make a video on exercises for treating dequervains tenosynovitis. I could not find them on your channel. Hope you see my message.🙏
I used to wake up in the middle of the night in tears with the pain of carpal tunnel…the only relief I got was an operation on both wrists…I think mine was far to gone for any other relief …hope this works for others who have carpel tunnel…wish I had known about the exercises
These help even after one session. I didn't know the nerve problem could be helped with any kind of exercise but these do after 2 years of numbness and tingling in both hands off and on and especially using a mouse at a computer. I will do these every day. They wanted to put needles in my hands to check my nerves but I chickened out. Thanks a million.
Your fantastic ! As a movenent professional , rolfer. You’re saving my hands and upper body. Love to see a video from you for body workers. We suffer allot. 🤗
I had a severe wrist break requiring surgery (plate with ten screws) in January. I haven't felt my middle fingertip since then. I'm hoping this awesome stretch will recover some feeling. Thx for all your great videos!
Hi Susan, did this video help you? I have exactly the same situation. I broke my wrist in March and had surgery, and for a couple of weeks there has been some numbness on the tip of my middle finger. I just found this video and the numbness seemed to lessen a bit while doing these exercises. I'm intrigued to know if they have helped you too, if you have done these more regularly for the past month.
@@Taikalyhty Hi. Wow. It's been nine months since I broke my arm. Now I don't even think about it, fortunately. The numbness has gone away completely. It took six months. Honestly, I think it just takes time.
Hi, Susan, thanks a lot for your answer. Great to hear that the numbness has disappeared! There is still some numbness in my fingertips (thumb, index finger and middle finger), but I’m hoping it will go away eventually. Lately I’ve been a bit lazy with my exercising, perhaps that’s the reason why it has stayed.
Whether this exercises applicable both hands or not.I am suffering from numbness specially right hand fingers at mid night to dawn and my sleep very much affects,pl inform what type of exercises are best in this regard.
This helped the contracting nerve thanks .... Actually my first finger was bending naturally like not straight but it was contracting forward like the nerve this helped thanks
Doing these stretches as additional moves of the ol dance routine down at the nightclub has inadvertently started a new local dance craze. Watch out Backpack Kid.
Numbness and pain in my fingers and arms, awakened me from sleep. I sought for effective frequency sound for it at midnight, but I found your video, tried to follow the way, felt much better. Thanks a lot!! Your bright cheerful face expression also heals many, I guess. I really appreciate it!!
How do you sleep? Try sleeping on your side with a pillow in front of you/between hour knees and lay your arm on it that it's straight. I'm recovering from an elbow injury that has helped me with pain and nerve compression in the arm.
I love to knit and I thought I would have to give it up because of hand numbing and cramping. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us who don't want to give up what makes us happy.
Thank you for the wonderful video. I have the worst symptom some time during sleep or in the morning. What would the best position for hands when laying down to prevent the worsening of symptoms? Thanks in advance for the response.
I did these exercises for a few minutes and they already brought me some instant relief. Thank you so much! I will keep at this everyday and hopefully be entirely symptom free
Same for me!!! The tingling & burning is juat too intense to really be able to do the first exercise. I'm curious if over the 4 months since you've posted If you've done 1st one when you can and does it help overall. Like has it helped them come on less frequently or less intense??? TYIA 4 any response or help. 💜💜💜
I went to the doctor and sayed that i have this numb fingers problem. It get really bad at night and in the morning. He asked what i do for a living and i seyed that i'm musician. Doctors solution was very simple -he seyed that i need to change my profesion. Lol. How stupid is that. Anyway, thank you for this video, it really helps. Life savior.

I have CTS and already find this exercises help but I have one question. How often would you recommend doing the latter excercise per day? Some years ago I did overstretch the median nerve and I don' t want to do that again.
