@@Black66 I have a ct200u-ex with a vm22 and assorment of jets. Have a 120 in it now with needle clip in middle. Runs perfect with air filter off but bogges with it on. Elevation is 512 here in tx. Any idea which way to go? Watch all your videos . thx for any help.

I have the same bike and just did a swing arm mod using the springs I had from my MB200 and Yes the 196 has plenty of power with the right gearing.

Thanks! Yes, the 196 has the external governor removed. The linkage is removed because of the Mikuni carb. Same on the Predator

I have the Series 30 Go Power Sports torque converter on my CT200U-EX stock 196CC engine with no other mods. It's been clocked at 36 MPH ( by my wife along side me in our 2019 Toyota Camry XLE ) with my 212 lb. fat butt on it. I'm still trying to wear out the off road stock tires that came on it before putting on some road tires I bought for it. Here in the Phoenix area our local Harbor Freight stores (6) are out of the 212 Predator engines and say they won't get any in until maybe Sept. or Oct. and can't say then for sure.

It depends on what you may do to the engine in the future. If you get a 212 then put money into it with a build you could have just put that money into the 196 you already had. If you are not going to build you would be better off spending a little extra on a Wildcat 223 or a Predator 224 than getting a 212.

In your opinion would you go with the 198cc, 212cc or the 224cc. It would ve for back country and hard trails.

They all will work but the 224 will have more torque with its 58mm stroke.

Thanks for this! What app are you using for speed? Also if you could do a video comparing the performance and set up of a Coleman ct200u vs a Honda from or Honda ruckus. Why spend thousands on the Honda when the Coleman can do it. Just a thought, thanks!

The 196 does not have a 5/8 clutch it is metric at 16mm

Master quick question do the same parts from a 212cc fit a 196cc to be a bit more specific im building my project and from what I’ve seen in your vids im planning on putting a aluminum fly wheel and a aluminum piston rod on a 196cc is there any size differences or any tips thank you 🙏🏻

How did you deal with the 3/4" shaft on the Predator vs the 5/8" sprocket on the OEM?

I’ve noticed you mainly use the 7 degree key, is 7 degrees what you’ve found to be the sweet spot?? Just wondering cause I was going to order one and seen a pack from 1-7 and was wondering if there is a point in trying out like a 2 or 3 or if I should just get the 7

Yes, with the stock flywheel, the 7 or 8-degree keys are about right there at around 32 degrees. I might have a video comparing a few keys in the playlist.

I'm coming to this comment section for help. I bought 2 Coleman's ct200-ex v (black camo). One rides much smoother than the other. The store assembled for me. I've looked them both over, put them both on motorcycle stands and ran them. I can't see anything that would cause one to have more vibration. It seems worse at high speeds, which made me think the rims but on the stands they both seem to run smooth. Could it in the chain or clutch. Maybe the actual engine? Thanks in advance for any help

I’m stocked with my Coleman same ct200u ex as yours, with less than 10 hours on the bike it stopped starting out of the blue I cleaned carb and started after, but next day didn’t start changed spark plug and started and again it doesn’t star next day did the same mikuni carburetor swap you did and cleaned the fuel tank now got it on non ethanol changed to a new spark plug and again started and nex time doesn’t start what can it be wrong on that 196cc, I even tried a new ignition coil and nothing.

How do you know when you're hitting 30 miles an hour without a speedometer?

I use a GPS app on my phone and on the camera. I also use a Dragy performance meter for zero to thirty times, which is very accurate to around 0.06 of a second.

Bypass the governor , or put a zip tie in the governor spring . Quick easy way to go faster .

I put a stock hemi on my ct200u and it was 6 mph slower did a pipe and tide governor and got 37 the hisun 196 was so much better on that bike over all stock tell I modified the 212

@@Black66 my predator are on my shelf I'm waiting on a spoke kit to come in and a few parts to restore my rupp this winter I'm going to put my mild stage 4 non hemi on it should be fun wanted to rebuild the original 4h Tecumseh bit valve are gone and I've got major piston slap the parts alone I'll save 200 bucks throwing a predator on it

I had to change out the clutch. The 196 has a 5/8 shaft and the Predator has a 3/4
