I review a used 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E and compare it to a Tesla Model Y. It’s a great EV and considering how much it has depreciated it’s an awesome used car purchase.

you cannot really compare 2nd hand market price(28k) with new car's tag price(50k) because the new car will have 7.5k federer tax credit and some state incentives, mostly will be a little over 10k. so the real comparison is 28k vs 40k. i think a new 40k car depreciation curve would reach 28k in 2-3 years anyway.

@@steveredstorm3894 Yes, it's really sad they didn't put a heat pump in. Point 1. - A 2022 Tesla Model Y Performance or Long Range with a handful of miles can be had for $4-5K more - and you'll get a better battery, longer range, better motors and better tech all around. Then, "in only a couple years it's come down from $50K" - So, in a few more years it's going to be a $8K car - or $5K car because it needs a new $12-15K battery and has depreciated even further than other EV's, killing any chance of repair (cost to repair too high) or resale. No thanks. Point 2 - I hate the Mach-E's styling and it's the worst "style" for a mustang since the 5.0, IMO. It looks like an SUV. It's stupid 'tall' hood (That is empty) is totally retarded. Trainwreck, IMO. Appreciate your thoughts, regardless!

I don't own a Tesla but I invest in Tesla. I know they are at the forefront of this technology. They have the most reliable charging stations, which is why Ford adopted the Tesla standard charging connection which would make their vehicles able to charge at superchargers which are reliable and all over the place. There are so many examples this could be a story instead of a comment. Buying this Mach-E is a massive mistake! I can't tell you why because it's not what you want to hear but I wouldn't think twice about choosing Tesla as my first EV some day. To me, it's an absolute no brainer. I feel sorry for the ones who buy this, they're buying the old tech, not the new future tech. Tesla's first car was more advanced than this! far more advanced!

Super curious who and how much they paid you to do this puff piece. You can ask literally any EV fans what they think of the Mach-E and most will point to a lot of different cars as being way superior to it and your argument that the car depreciated almost 50% or more in 2 years is a good sign...oh boy. There's plenty of comparison videos going along, the Mach-E has terrible real-life range, it's a sporty car but I'm super curious what happens when that battery degrades, you'll be stuck with a sports car that has 100 miles on it, great... This isn't a good EV no matter how you put it. There's better alternatives, it's still a Mustang but it's probably targeted at the people who are EV skeptics that's why it lacks most technologies a current EV has and still has traditional car items.

The reason for the depreciation is that EVs are not selling, carlots are broke out with EVs not selling. Most Americans are not buying into the EV bs. Why buy the inconveniences of an EV when for the same or less money you can buy a conventional car without the charging inconvenience of EV. EVs gain you nothing but more trouble in our already complex life. If you like a gimick, buy an EV.
@CC86CA
@CC86CA 4 месяца назад
Inconvenience? How exactly? Most Americans travel less than 30 miles each day in their car. So the range anxiety is unwarranted fear mongering from anti-EV narratives. EV’s don’t need to stop at gas stations. Most EV owners charge at home while they’re asleep. For as little as $2 for 150 miles of range depending on local electricity rates. EV’s don’t need oil changes, transmission flushes, spark plug replacements. WAY less maintenance.

No. That’s not how vehicle depreciation works. There is a curve, it’s not linear.
@plsdontbanmeagainyoulibtards
@plsdontbanmeagainyoulibtards 4 месяца назад
@@CC86CA yes... you're correct? Doesn't really change my point at all. Obviously it's not going to drop down to zero in the next few years after that, but that initial depreciation is indicative of how that value curve is going to look. All cars depreciate in value unless they're rare/collectable/whatever, but they depreciate at different rates. If it's depreciated that much that quickly, it's going to continue to depreciate quicker than other cars. Now you can only speculate what that number is going to be approaching, but it's a safe bet to say it's not flattening out after only 2 years. So you're taking on risk by buying that car before you ever had a chance to see what that depreciation trend is going to look like. It might seem like a 'steal' at 60% msrp, but if you go to resell it in a couple years for 60% of what you paid, it's no longer such a good deal. Opposed to the person who waits (for sake of example) 4 years instead of 2, when they go to sell it in a few years it might only drop 10% in value.
