I prefer the lava too, but I wonder if some dispensers and redstone could make it so he could switch between the two.

But how will he do that in the giant entrance without wasting beards? Had it been a 1×1×2 entrance, it was fine, but a wide entrance means multiple dispensers set up, and that would mean wastage of beards, since he would have to activate all dispensers, so that no matter from where someone enters, they have a beard on

@@wyrdvora then how are you going to dispense the beard on the player? The way you picture it, there will be a dispenser facing up, a hopper above it, and above the hopper is where the person will stand. That way, the beard will not be dispensed, and even if the beard jumps up outside, the hopper will pull it back. You need to dispense the beard on the player, because they won't even realize they got a beard to wear, if you just dropped them onto the players.

Actually not quite.. When it comes to Dwarves and Gold, they love it but just like the hobbit, they want their gold in a massive room.. if I was in Impulse's shoes, I worry about the Gold inside the Fortress. What you really want on the outside is Stone and mainly stone. Impulse isn't a Leprechaun guys 🤣 So for the flowing Lava is fine on the outside.. Now Impulse can go for Deepslate or Blackstone but personally I believe just good old Stone Brick mixed with Dead Corals bring out a truly great Dwarven Fortress on the outside. You want it to be tough, rugged, and bold. It's beautiful sure but Dwarves are mainly Blacksmiths focused on Iron and Stone. It's why Dwarves has the best heavy armors of most races of fantasy. You can do it your way Impulse but personally I liked Bdubs Crastle from First Life. His Crastle really got that rugged look. Your design is fine but I would suggest more Stonebrick with a mixture of Grays. Personally The Deepslate and Blackstone are better if you're going for a home fit for a Wizard or Witch. Why do you guys think Netherite Bricks, Blackstone, and Deepslate are perfect for The Nether and even The End? It compliments the mobs there. Even Dark Oak compliments The Pillagers. Look at the Villagers guys. They work hard, The Blacksmith and Armorer works in Stone, Stone Brick, and Cobblestone Buildings. It compliments them which in turn they look like Dwarves. I also suggest to work with some Oak and Spruce Wood too. It also compliments Dwarves.

Visiting the Ender Ender is pretty fast at regen tools... But yeah, it's still a trip. This could be a good service, as long as all are using same enchants? Or have a chest of each common one... Shop owner would restock with a longer session at the farm, customers pay a little for instant hotswap

@@kevinkelley1225 Then Hermits could also give items funny, weird, or even advertisey (if that's a word) names to their items so when they use the service they get to choose one that might say "I Shop at I-Enchant" or "This Was Stolen From ..........." to make it more interesting or keep it interesting for them when they use the service and to help keep them coming back.

I think it would destroy the copper look. Some coloured light blocks would bez interesting, I wish we had more light sources, kinda like froglights.

@@SneakyPicknick I agree. The light sources we have to this day can be limiting. There are not many colors or textures. Technically, we could use maps and item frames to light up builds, but that is so much work for a light source for me. I was thinking of putting the glow lichen on the sides of the "i", so it would not be as visible. Im not a builder, so im not that creative coming up with ideas for lighting, so feel free to help me!

@@SneakyPicknick what we need is a light emitting block that you can change the brightness of with redstone and also utilize the different stained glass blocks when crafting the block so you get the 16 different colors of light

Also fun fact- there was a hobbit/dwarven/tiny like race of hominoids, during the time of neanderthals and heavy interspecies mingling between the hominoid groups. They were primarily cave dwelling creatures that evolved on a isolated island and they grew to about the size of a average 13 year old, I believe. It could be 10 though so idk. They went extinct for unknown reasons about 300 years before the ancient ancestors could sail to their island. Idk what they were called but I think they were pretty neet.

Grian made a quite a bit of money just selling his mining waste (thats part of how the barge started, getting rid of excess resouces, granted he did end up actively getting lots of sand and gravel to keep stocked up) So be a pack rat and then sell ot at a shop or save it for a build in a couple years. (Also redsone components are very cobble/stone intensive, a stack of droppers takes 7 stacks of cobble which adds up fast)

@@TheAechBomb Not necessarily. Impulse could make a puston extender that swaps the lava with water and when the 1 tick water delay occurs, have a series of other pistons extend for a few ticks down each pillar of space, eliminating the falling lava blocks, before releasing the water in the space.

Maybe have some aqueducts coming out and pouring into the river! Then have some channels taking water in from the river - getting fresh, cold water to cool down what’s been forged

I love the idea of dwarven forges/aqueducts! The lava looks fantastic where Impulse added it, but some pops of blue pouring into the river would add balance and lore!

Bdubs is a much better builder though. Don't expect anything as nice looking from SV Impulse. Black and orange stuff is pretty much all you get.

@@ariesdane5876 I think impulse has definitely improved in building in last couple of seasons. Since he is now full time youtuber, I think he has more time to think and design builds in creative. So far I liked what he has done, even The previous concept was okay.

Yeah, the entrance definitely needs a third color. Blue makes sense because it is the complimentary color to orange. maybe he could change the copper to lapis? Of course, switching the lava back to water would probably look best.

Or even oxidizing the copper as that blue green and deep slate goes really well together

@@tonyblock721 This is a way better idea than Water. Oxidized Copper compliments the build but adds that slight blue so it won't be too much for most people. Actually I have a really cool idea.. Since Impulse is under Gem, I sense if Gem can have flowing water right into Impulse's outer area instead of lava from her build, it be like Elves and Dwarves has a truce to share some resources with each other. Equal Trade. Elven Craftsmanship in return for Dwarven Heavy Armors for Elves that prefers to be taking hits instead of using the bow and arrow.

I mean, there was the whole Nauglamir thing in the First Age, so chummy is a bit of an exageration. You can even argue that the elf-dwarf frienships (Maedhros-Azaghâl, Gimli-Legolas, Celebrimbor-Narvi, even Telchal-Eöl if you want to push it) were uncommon at best.

Actually, also a First Age thing (especially after the Sack of Doriath). The good relations between Elves and the Dwarves of Moria in the Second Age was a rarity, the two were more often at loggerheads than really friendly relations. Examples in the Third Age like Thranduil both refusing to aid the Dwarves against Smaug, and refusing to give any aid to the fleeing survivors, really didn't help.

The animosity isn't a third age thing. Dwarves and Elves warred as early as the first age, when the Sindar slaughtered the Petty-Dwarves of Beleriand. There are of course several clans of elves and kingdoms of dwarves but by in large, the animosity is widespread.
