This is the gosh darn pineapple and it makes so much more sense with your tutorial than paracord guild's. Flow rather than trying to memorize under over patterns.
I second MrBlack751 & most everyone else. THIS IS EXACTLY what I needed. I liken this to people trying to remember people's age. If you remember their birthday instead, you can always do simple subtraction to figure their age at the time you need or want to know. I too, wasted so many frustrating hours trying to learn this by tutorials here & elsewhere. The way that you explained this is the way is the correct way, to be able to duplicate this pattern or make a new one at any point in the future. A MILLION THANK YOUS to you! You are immensely appreciated!
Thank you! I am completely new to these knots and I was able to complete this knot thanks to your very clear and helpful instructions. It doesn't look like you have made any videos in a while....I truly hope you decide to pick it up again. I love it!
Excellent explanation! I can't begin to say how many tuts I have watched, and how many pages read to get to the simple fact of tying turkshead knots. Its as if people want to keep the secrets for themselves, or I'm just thick headed and don't understand the directions. Your tuts are great at simplifying the process and how to understand the flow of the knot itself. I have tied turkshead knots over and over by watching a video and following it verbatim step by step. Thanks!
Excellent Videos! Your approach to understanding these knots is great. You teach the "why" behind it and not just the "how." I know making these videos is a commitment not everyone can keep, but I think you should continue your work. I look forward to seeing more videos from you and perhaps the return of your website.
Thank toy thank you I've watched many videos on how to do this. I had an idea on how to do it but after watching all 3 videos the light came on and I understand. Again thank you. I subscribed and can't wait to see more.
I want to start by saying thank you for the videos that you have , you are responsible for me truly learning how to tie a turks head knot. All the other tuts just rip thru the knot with no more explanation then over , under ,over etc... but you gave me the knowledge to understand the process beyond the run list . So, to the point, please come back out of your youtube retirement ,there is so much more you can teach people. But if you have other things going on I understand. I have a two year old and a teen so I know about "other things" but if you could please help me figure out how to do a long gaucho just like the long herringbone I would be so greatful. Also I make custom kydex items and sheaths incase we could work out a trade or something. Just some insentive, I have a 4b x 29 lead turks head that I'm trying desperately to do a gaucho interweave on(3 weeks now). hope to hear from you.
See I am used to a regular Herringbone braid which is commonly used in the creation of bullwhips and some hair styles. Regardless I have seen this technique of braiding used in a sailor's knot bracelet. Search Herringbone on Google You will see what I mean. And then, Do you Think you could make a sailor's knot bracelet with this braid?
Great tutorial, so if i want to make the base knot longer, how would i add more leads by not adding more bights? I am new at this so im not real sure if i am making sense
ANDRE HIBBERT The bigger the mandrel the more bights you'll need. Unless you use thicker line. This family of knots can be expanded as far as you want to go.
