@@travisrussell3951 Almost like he didn't realize that the beauty of the cleric class is that even though you can heal, you won't, as attacking with all them amazing spells is incredibly fun, and using magic to cripple enemies or buff party members is always enticing.

Yeah cleric spells are fun for that but its just the face he makes after when he realizes "i probably should have healed there" it gets me every time lol, also i didnt realize his bard cleric multiclass was an arcana type cleric

He multiclassed to early into bard really gimping himself despite already gimping the best feature of his race....that's a lot of gimp

Meh. Its a hard rail roaded you get captured and fail. I mean, they had no way to accomplish their goal and that's just something I don't agree with. Especially when as a GM you give 0 warnings and know your players are going to do X thing

He pointed out many times that it's a fortified location with basically a small army of zealots preparing a coup, it's an infiltration mission and they don't even have a rogue. They could have simply left, they had multiple other things to do in other places and it was solely the party's choice to stay and try to help. It's the DM's job to make the choice as difficult as possible, otherwise it wouldn't matter. The bell tower sequence was a major screw up by the party, and after that they didn't have much hope of succesfully accomplishing their mission and getting out. They still decided to proceed, so it basically turned into a suicide mission. Mark kept track of the time and Vala's rolls, and it looked like he had multiple paths planned. Even in the end, he stated multiple times that Vala wouldn't proceed with the portal console without the party's agreement. And even if after all this you still think it was a railroad, it was a railroad done right. Don't know why I care so much I've written this wall of text, guess this episode was simply that awesome.

@@T3hIluvatar no, it's the GMs job to tell a story with the players. And to make sure everyone enjoys it. That is their first job. 1. Mark knew the party wouldn't leave. What party of good aligned players would? Especially after the visions. Could you imagine the destruction if they hadn't went in? 2. There was no way they would be able to infiltrate the church. All it takes is ONE enemy spotting ONE of them. The fact that some 12 year old girl managed to also avoid all the guards is hilarious. 3. Yeah okay. Sell your soul to a devil or trust the girl you have been with to help you, who you have saved countless times. Mark had planned for one of two outcomes. The players somehow managed to beat his impossible combat, but be so haggered and broken they couldn't even think of putting up resistance. And the one that happened. Did you not notice how even when they failed, the problem they went in to solve got fixed? By someone who just so happens to be a HUGE antagonist in the story? Mark can talk all he wants. I've seen rail roading, and I've done rail roading. This was rail roaded. The result, them stopping the demon/devil invasion and starbane entering the narrative was going to happen. Whether they succeeded or failed. If you notice. They FAILED.

@@animewarrior3 I was honestly wondering how they would realistically be able to solve this with the resources they were given as like you said all it takes in one failure for things to fall apart. Though honestly even if it felt rail roady I think it was still a cool plot twist

@@r.r815 I know I'm late but I only recently started watching this and I could easily think of a couple actions they could've taken instead of running in. I don't think at any point it was railroaded. For example Aila said that when they were going to tell the Head Guard Lady that she would send them back anyway. I think if they had told her that they saw the other leaders and such locked up she could've roused a sizable military/guard force to assist or distract the main force, to which they could've snuck in easier. Or they could've informed her and have her as backup with a couple squads of guards if they failed stealth. At the beginning they wanted to send in Nova alone and invisible, which also would've been a great alternative, but she chickened out and instead they brought and risked everyone by their own volition.

He's the best type of player tho

An honest player is a good player. I'd feel dirty not bringing it up

Tosh Omni starbane didn’t seem evil but we really don’t know yet only time will tell

Also just realized if the arch demon a very powerful but not deity level creature couldn’t enter through the small portal how come starbane could? He’s an actual god hopefully that gets explained later on.

It's funny to see what auto subs does sometimes. As long as you can still get the jist of it cause if not it gets frustrating at times. I need substitles for hearing lower tones so I need if for clarification if I miss something, thankfully I can hear most of it. It must be truly aggravating for those who have full hearing loss.

I have also been accidently spoiled of... possibly the same thing you mean in CR(I'm newer to campaign 2). Thankfully I wasn't spoiled badly and I don't know details, just that it happens.

To be fair, the fanbase is a little bigger with CR (I assume it's the thing that also happened on ep. 26), so the likelihood that someone is going to leak it is much higher. That said, I'm always glad when a community can keep the secrets.

I'm watching this episode now and i have had nothing spoiled and i have had things before the vod is released of cr spoiled. (but i still love cr)

The CR fandom is mixed now. Half are good fans that are chill. They don't spoil stuff and know it's just a game meant to have fun with. While the other half is so incredibly toxic and rude to everyone; fans and players alike. And ruin it for everyone. It sucks

Yes, but not through a foot of stone. It would either have to travel in a really roundabout route (in which case I would say you would either have to know the route or the longer route would be longer than the 120 foot range) or travel through walls, each of which is about a foot thick, I imagine.

I agree that would have been a really cool storyline. I think Mark just wrote the start of a story arc though and since they didn't go that route he won't have the story written. Maybe we'll see the demon girl later on though!

That was the campaign I also fed a goblin fire, I came up while he was sleeping and put my hand over his mouth (Which woke him up) hushed him and asked him if he wanted to find out what death tastes like, I then cast burning hands directly into the goblins mouth... ... Oh yeah I also threw one into a bag of holding Where he stayed past the end of the campaign where we were gods He is in that bag of holding to this day, I might resurrect him in the future as a character

I think Mark didn't expect them to take that route (I might be very wrong, of course). But yeah, let's see how the story unfolds.
