PMQs returned after nearly a month of recess today, with Rishi Sunak being forced to take pot shots at Liz Truss. #pmqs Subscribe to our new podcast now, or you're a silly goose: linktr.ee/pubcast
What a joke......Starmer has 6 questions....asked the same question 3 times and still never got an answer......Come on Hoyle,do your job and tell him to answer the question asked😡🇬🇧
Exactly! Can we have even just a tiny bit of democracy and accountability where the PM is forced to answer questions. That is the entire point of this farce.
This farce needs fixing. When the PM does not answer a question, the speaker should hold the PM in contempt of Parliament (at a minimum). I'm sick of our MPs not answering legitimate and important questions.
@@henben9215 But he won't. He'll continue back-peddling on every commitment, pledge and promise. Labour in power under Starmer will be slightly less bad. Shoot me now!
@@distinctdipole so why would people risk voting for Labour when SIR keir starmer is clearly not going to make anything any better for the average person
The only time you will see Starmer raise is when he is getting back up off one knee. By the time the next election comes around he will be on one knee on a prayer mat facing east, while wearing a bra and dress with a rainbow coloured Jews hat and holding a Hamas flag shouting Allah Akbar, there is nothing that slimy toad won't say and do to try to get his grubby nose into power. He can never be trusted. Labour and Tory are just cells of the same cancer.
I feel like both sides have missed the point... most people would not mind paying high taxes IF we saw the money was going to use / helping public services / improving our communities. But they're not.
To be honest I doubt you can make it worth. Included student line when I start earning past £50k I'll lose half my money straight away to tax. £50k really isn't much anymore. The older generation have just pulled up the ladder and made it more difficult for the newer generations. There's a reason inefficiency is so bad in UK. Doctors stop working full hours when they get past the additional high rate threshold. Taxing people so much does not make you want to work more. Also the best thing about it is none of this affects the rich who don't pay tax the same way. The whole system is about squeezing the middle.
Sorry...I mind, we pay an awful lot of tax now....maybe you forget the 20% VAT. All told its near half most peoples earnings now. All government Labour and Tory are crap at budgeting, this is why Thatcher wanted people to opt out of SERPS, but at least she admitted it. Now they have even stolen that. Its only this country where you have those that pay more get less and the ones who pay less get more. I paid in 49 yrs and get the same as those that paid in 35 years, then they take the SERPS based on hours worked put it in one pot to pay those that dont put extra hours in. Then young people come along and try to say they pay my pension. At least Osborne made it that your private pension pot is now your own. Labour never did anything for pensions unless you are Public Sector. I wont be voting the Heritage useless parties.
@@cup1966wow Nothing to do with the "older" generation, you can blame successive govts lack of economic nous and a single track economy that only benefits the big banks and the stock exchange and encourages massive immigration. All govts have been hampered by the power of socialists dictating and resisting sensible policies for years, blame them not us! Liecons and Liebour parties only economic instruments they have used for the last 35 years is tax tax and more bloody tax, including massive waste on white elephant projects, involved in everybody else's wars, and no long term industrial strategy and devoid of a program of reinvestment to keep us near the top of cutting edge technologies. Instead all parties are wedded to mass immigration so that there is massive competition for jobs and promoting the "race to the bottom syndrome" both the Liebour and the Liecons would love to have absolute control over your lives including what you earn and how you spend it! Like I said if you keep on being duped by these scum then you deserve everything you get!
I’ve watched PMQs much more in recent years, and that awful animalistic baying is one on the most unpleasant things I hear. The sound of a burning barn.
It's shameful. We wouldn't accept this behaviour in our homes, our schools, in a work meeting...it's not even like this at the fucking pub for god's sake.
@johnwelch5132 I wish they would clamp down on some of the worst aspects of adolescent behaviour, all they do is embarrass themselves by trying to score cheap points whilst the issues of the day are never seriously attended to!
"The Grinning Traitor" has form on that score, but the turds called the Liebour party never questioned him in depth, that smells of collusion because he deemed to be from an ethnic minority so in Liebours eyes he gets a free pass!
The problem is, how can you ever make sure they’re held accountable to be responsible and get things done? The only thing you can trust about a politician is that you can’t fully trust them
Vote Reform, SDP or Lib Dem then the two heritage parties will never change, and to be fair, Liz Truss was trying to change the direction but was stitched up by her own , especially Sunak and the leftie quangorati and institutions, but she dare not speak of this as its Labour Blairites that set it all up.
Anyone seen that video of Richie Sunak when he was a young boy traveling in the back of a limousine, talking about how he really loved money and wanted to be super rich. I don't think there has ever been clearer evidence of just how unlikable he was going to become as an adult.
Stop pretending to be working class. If there is one thing the modern day Labour voter and liberal left does, is it that they pretend to be working class. Stop fetishizing them.
@@adamibrahim7338 Good luck proving that when even the HMRC doesn't keep records over 7 years and the only thing you have that says she did it is a book written by a Tory Lord. I can't say she didn't do it as there is no evidence that she did, just as there is none that she didn't but you still think you have the right to throw around accusations. You (like the PM) are an entitled prick.
I can assure you both the LieCons and the LieBour party are corrupt on a scale you could never imagine, even the word "traitor" is far too good for them!
What a cheap and disgusting dig at a working class women who has worked hard to achieve what she has meanwhile the tories do all they can to avoid ppaying taxes, line their own pockets or pockets of their friends.. bring on an election...
Plenty of Liebour party members "avoid" taxes they are just better at pulling the wool over your eyes! But your right so why do you keep voting for them?
@@johnsartmaterialguidestuto7757I think we have a wildly different interpretation of woking class if tax dodging on multiple properties and fat salary like that is classified as working class.
Rishi states that Birmingham's council tax has risen by 21% that's because they went bust due to underfunding from government. Can't have it both ways Rishi, either fund the councils adequately or expect them to raise taxes so they can afford to offer the level of services a council should.
They went bust because they spent their funding on crap! They got the same per head as everyone else. Birmingham were paying woman less than men, who were doing the same job. They were warned about it a decade ago and they ignored the warnings...now they have to back pay the shortfall.
Someone should tell rishi sunak he's unelected which means we didn't put him there and we don't want him there at least labour are willing to tax money from the rich unlike rishi sunak who has broken our country he's blaming labour guys even conservative councils have put there taxes up by a massive amount rishi sunak must think we are dumb this is what happens when. You put a spoiled brat in charge
rather that than a leftie apologist hell bent on killing our culture .. sorry rich or poor i'd rather keep the money in the uk and not spread all over the world .. sick of both these lying immature parties .. they are messing with our lives
@KnIGHGtY Equally painful to listen to "vote for me I' am sir flip floppy the denier!" I suppose you couldn't separate the "Grinning traitor" between them!
First answer - in every other circumstance, Sunak has always said "It would be inappropriate for me to comment when a police investigation is ongoing." But when there's political points to be had...
It's all from the marketing department on all sides and that is why you can't tell one load of BS from the another. The marketeers all come from the same universities, much like Orwell's Outer Party.
@jstewart4205 I'm not pretending to run the country leaching off Mt billionaire wife. Sounds like a moronic Tory comment. Having money doesn't mean he knows what he's doing politically.
Thanks for keeping us updated! I feel sympathy and empathy for our country. low income people are suffering to survive, and I appreciate Deborah. You've helped my family with your advice. imagine investing $30,000 and receiving $95,460 after 28 days of trading.
I began investing in stocks and Def earlier this year, and it is the best choice l've ever made. My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million, and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news. Chances are you're quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public. There are lots of life changing opportunities in the market, and maximize it.
@@Harveyjake8077 And you think we're not now? I've never seen Britain in this state, the roads are a mess, public services are a mess, the economy is triple fucked, taxes are through the roof, cost of living through the roof, mortgage rates through the roof, child care through the roof, services provided by schools, etc... have been cut, many things that labour did back in the days has been taken away such as being paid to study and centres that used to keep teenagers out of the streets...... The truth is, since the Tories have been in power, this country has gone to shits.
@@Harveyjake8077like the Tories are any better. We’re in 4 times as much debt now as in 2010, public services utterly decimated, country has fallen apart! At least the NHS was functioning under Labour
The NHS was a basket case if not worse as it is now back then, 10 hour waiting time were the norm, I know I had to bloody experience it, look what happened in Stafford, and the Liebour party just ducked and pretended the scandal never existed and denied all knowledge, simply because the "darling" of their doctrine had actually failed them! Then there was the scandal of faulty operations which were done privately, and had to be re done on the NHS, scandal of unvetted doctors, the horrible program of PSR, and privatisation of the NHS. That's not an exhaustive list of Liebours failures, and because of those failures they should never be let anywhere the NHS again! Do I need to mention Rochdale and paedophiles within the Leibour party covering up for ethnics crimes against young girls, and to this day they never received redress, corruption, failure and nepotism is the hallmark of the Liebour party just same as the LieCon party. Now I know why the quality of our politicians hovers just above moron level! If you want to look at a blueprint for the UK and what is going to be the next Liebour govt, then look at London!
It always has been, they have always been preprepared questions and answers as far as I understand it. Occasionally you'll see one that completely knocks them off their stride though but in general it's a big "look at how good I am as PM".
Have you never noticed how every Labour MP stands up in turn, to read some prewritten crap? Half the time they don't even understand what the are reading out!
Nice to see they are still having lots of fun taking pot shots at one another while the rest of us are struggling to find anything amusing anymore. They really don't take our lives seriously because if they did these sessions would be more focused on asking questions about what the PM has planned, and nothing else.
What are you going on about? Starmer clearly asked multiple times how Sunak was going to fund his promise to scrap national insurance, which he rightly said would be a question viewers would want an answer to. It was Sunak who on three separate occasions refused to answer and tried changing the subject.
Pensioners got rise and all but 2% was taken in extra income tax, that's before increases in Internet, dental charges,, council tax and water. Why doesn't the mini-PM clear off.
@@Harveyjake8077 They will reduce inequality. Give more say to the middle classes whom have standards and integrity and lift the working class out of poverty and give them a chance at mobility. Oh yes, they will invest in social capital and treat us like human beings again instead of processing us, digitally in the hidden manner of the Nazi death camps. Just wake up and see the facts. Its easy enough.
The discussion shouldnt be about cutting taxes. Taxes are required for better public services. Transport, NHS, pensions... Normal people dont have private health care for example. The question should be about scandal, waste of public funds and privitization of energy, water, transport, communications and the improvement of the NHS. Countries which have higher taxes usually have better services and most level minded people dont mind paying tax if the services are good. The conservatives have spent years selling off the assets of the country and trying to sell the NHS to the Americans. Not to mention giving millions to their friends in bogus schemes.
NO the discussion should be about publishing in depth accounts which determine where every single penny is going! and when that's revealed it won't be pretty reading, hence why both the Liecons/Liebour parties would never do it, and hence why they tax you off the planet! Since when did our taxes go to where it should go?
@@BennyHolden-ls7sj Yes. The devil is in the detail. This is the Rishi con-trick. He thinks his clever digital empire has concealed the truth whilst he makes billions in profits. After all he was a trader in New York in 2013. Then he came over here and went into politics to make even more money. Blind trust? My arse!
£900 increase for pensioners, try £8.15 a month, still not £900, try getting accommodation for Illegal Migrants for a week at that with food & heating etc.
And hence the folly of voting for the same serial failures at every election cycle! well done for giving all these grifters a free pass, their colour of their tie does not make any difference only the crime being a "Traitor" does!
National Insurance was introduced to cover Pensions, Health and Unemployment. I’m retired having worked paying the full amount and so qualify for the full pension. My wife worked part time and so she gets only the minimum pension. But what started as Insurance premiums, has now become a tax and apart from the pension, unconnected to the insurance claims. I would like to know exactly when our insurance premiums were in effect stolen and treated as a tax.
As you say, NI is an 'insurance'. (Note to the Conservatives - that's what the 'I' in 'NI' stands for). John is correct in saying these funds have been 'stolen', because the scheme is flawed. John claims to have paid 'the full amount', but we don't know exactly how much that is, but he, and millions of others were led to believe that by contributing for 35 years would entitle the payer to a full pension. The problem is that we have far too many low earners, non-earners (who have their contributions made for them) etc, that, along with the poor rates received during the 15 years when interest rates were far too low, as well as governments and health care services working to make people live as long as possible, that the invested money is being used to pay the pensions of those who are drawing it now, not those people who have contributed it. It's a slippery slope once you start doing that, and the Conservatives have continued, hoping that the situation would resolve itself. Just like Rishi says he has 'plans to stop the boats' (yet thousands of immigrants still keep arriving, without being deported), his 'plans' are really 'wish lists'. The Bank of England needs to keep interest rates above the rate of inflation, otherwise people will continue to invest in other commodities (just look at the state of the housing market), returns on the invested pension funds will continue to diminish and before we know it, all the money will be gone. Rishi is clearly only concerned about the wealth of himself and his family and is abusing his position as PM to increase his wealth accordingly, even though he has far more money than he's ever going to be able to spend....
him not answering starmer is all the answer we need, UK needs to do something about sunak or we have to pay the price our lives is at cost just cause of this 1 man.
I had never considered it before but surely PR would also rid us of the international embarrassment that is PMQ’s? I can’t stand to watch the stupidity of it. The worst part is when the opposition smile at the government across the chamber. I think we’ve been an international laughing stock since 2016 so there’s nothing for anyone else to smile at.
Hes just delaying things whilst he makes billions with his blind trust and awards more flawed IT system contracts to his wife. As soon as he loses the election hes going to cash in and retire. We are all mugs to have allowed him to play the system like he did. The truth always comes out and he will join the worst people ever in the history books. Karma find everybody eventually.
I'm kind of life long labour. Never voted for anyone else. However I despise Blair. But at least Blair stood for something, even if I stopped voting for him after I realised what he stood for. Starmer I think is a decent guy deep down. I think Sunak is a decent guy deep down too. But they both represent the exact same ideology and policy. So I won't be voting this election. I want a working class Labour leader that isn't a massive socialist, or a panderer, or a globalist. I want a Labour party that puts aside all this socialism nonsense and represents the working class again. We've reverted to the 1920s where politicians represents the aristocrats. And we all know how that ended, with working class blood spent to bail them out.
