@@SaintWill70 trust me, we know all about how decisions are made in the Prem! As you've been away from the Championship for a fair while you wouldn't have seen how bad the officiating has gotten in recent years. It's a disgrace and an embarrassment to English football! I wouldn't mind VAR in the Championship as you wouldn't have to worry about them using it in favour of the big 6 every time!

Was at the game and still scratching my head about it even after watching these highlights! Sargent is onside when the free kick is taken as he’s the first player to touch the ball after keeper saves it, he then plays the ball backwards but yet it’s called offside🥴

It wasn't. Watch Newcastle's game with Aston Villa as an example. With VAR it would've counted.

First thing that went through my mind soon as I spotted it! Saved someone getting sent off in my book,because you couldn't trust this ref for sure, he was absolutely shocking today!🙈...... Good viewing on the city's part, gotta put it to bed and focus on the next game now!.....im well happy to see Norwich heading in the right direction, Worked hard in this game?! The tackle on Arrons against Wigan at Home was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen!

The worst refereeing performance I've seen go against us was Tranmere Away in League One. I can't believe it wasn't properly investigated, it was that blatant that the ref was cheating in favour of Tranmere, most likely a favour for Mike Dean!

@@TheHesK9 that’s just one mistake during the game. There were fouls on saints during transition where you scored etc. if your goal would have counted we would have scored another as the tempo would have had to be different.

@saintssport1 what about the dodgy penalty at the end? That's 2 huge decisions? Hardly the same as a potential foul early in the build up. These decisions were just blatantly wrong

Probably a fair result, but none of the big decisions went against you. Ref was very one sided.

yeah we're trying to relive our classic 2018/19 season, so we had a look at this young whipper-snapper with a full head of hair who'd scored double figures in the top flight for an unfashionable side and thought 'that's our guy!' ...then we waited five seasons and pounced!

yep if not with us next season then with someone else in jan or next season if we don't make it. contracted until 2026 though, so whomever comes in for him will have to cough up biiiiig money...💸💸💸

What's even worse was the free kick that put the cross in for the penalty wasn't a foul. The Southampton player ran into Dimi's leg, jumped into the air and rolled around. Just like the dive for their 4th goal. Russell Martin's been teaching them the dark arts of simulation.

@@dylxnms did that over and over in 0.25 couldn’t see a handball it just bounced but maybe a hand somehow could have touched it for a millisecond still an absolutely ridiculous call but it’s ok it’s football and these things happen 😂

Agreed as a saints fan, we got lucky with a few decisions but also dominated possession and chances. A draw is a fair result based on the 90 minutes imo. You really surprised us, think you could definitely push for play offs with your attack

We had half as many shots as you and the same amount of goals. We had half as many shots on target and the same amount of goals. Yes the defending should have been better but we were much more clinical and that last penalty was very soft.

putting aside the freekick that never should've been that led to the handball for your first pen, and then the second pen that the wider footballing community (never mind just Norwich fans) agrees was bought... (the new offside law changes creating a lot of muddy water for fans to get lost in, never mind refs & linos not aided by var, so i'll steer clear of that one too) ... the only ones of those stats where goals are gonna come from are shots on target, so 11/31 & 6/15, so those ratios are 0.355 & 0.4 giving us the slight edge in a high scoring game. you do also realise most norwich fans will've watched the full game not just highlights packages btw - it's not exactly difficult these days it'll be interesting to see how both sides shape up when you come to ours later in the season (and how both our seasons will have panned out in the meantime)...

@ManWalksDogs not thinking about what the actual result was or any fouls, because they can be uncertain at best sometimes, the result seemed like it was fair to be a draw, as southampton was constantly on the attack but Norwich were breezing past southampton's defence.

@@Seventeen_Seconds Norwich don't even get stonewall penalties (only got one last season and had 5 disallowed for which refs apologised for after games). That being said, penalties can sometimes be subjective to the ref and they both fall into the category of "seen them given/seen them not given", Barnes disallowed goal though was the big howler for me, how can the cutback pass from Sargent be offside? 🤣

Aaron's used to try , but never got one , he would actually go down when contact was made though , he wouldn't go looking for it . The lad cheated and the ref now looks a fool.
