Today we put on our hiking shoes and set out to explore more of Sedona, Arizona and see if we could experience one thing Sedona is well known for - vortexes! We headed out to Bell Rock for a nice morning hike, stopped to take in some amazing views, conducted a few small experiments, talk about some vortex information we found on our research and overall had a really fantastic day!
Bell Rock is a popular attraction in Sedona. The roughly 1.5 miles out and back trail is considered a relatively easy hike along the northern face of the butte. While cairns mark the trail, many can be seen climbing up the rock face elsewhere and finding their own personal space. Visitors may climb as high as they feel comfortable; there isn't a bad view anywhere.
Vortexes are thought to be an area of concentrated energy where electromagnetic ley lines intersect. It is believed that there are different types of vortexes - feminine, or magnetic/downflow energy, useful for introspective reflection; masculine, or electrical/upflow energy, useful for increasing intentions and resolve; and balanced, which are thought to be a combination of the two. Meditation and self-reflection are often common goals for people visiting Sedona vortexes.

I've lived in Idaho, Utah and Arizona, and I've never met a juniper that wasn't twisted.

Hilarious! As a frequent flier to such places, it's nice to run into someone who has their head on straight and sports a sense of humor. I would have loved to have seen that spaceship come out of Bell Rock!

Thanks! Yeah, I tried my best to coax out some mystical happenings during my visit, but alas, I struck out. Maybe next time! 🧙‍♂️ 😅

Thank you Swifty! I was actually surprised at how good the views are since it doesn’t look very high up from a distance. Also, I really think Twisted Juniper needs to become a thing! Thanks for watching!

From what I’ve read, the vortices are not actually electromagnetic fields…so I’m not sure a compass would do anything. I think dowsing rods would pick up the energy tho 👍🏼 I’m gonna give this hike a try tomorrow. Out of the 50 videos I watched, this is the best. Thank you for the non obnoxious background music 👍🏼

Love Sedona, I have yet to find a bad place there. Yes you do have to deal with a bunch of hippy dippy stuff, but as you said live and let live. Smoke enough skunk weed and you'll see twisted juniper everywhere :)
@CactusAtlas
@CactusAtlas 4 года назад
Lol! That is probably true. Everything in Sedona is awesome. The only thing I often wonder is if it would be better had it been a National Park unit. Then again, the New Age stuff is kinda quirky and fun too. I always go back and forth on that one, but lean towards the former...

Ehhhh it's all Natural. Nice that you followed your intuition & found that spot overlooking everything. Yeah hawks really hate drones. Foresty Forest had one taken down by a hawk & feathers could be seen before it crashed.
@CactusAtlas

Somehow that channel has eluded us. I must find this hawk v drone footage. Though I imagine it wasn't a funny moment as drones can be pricey, it sounds crazy. 🤣

All trees spiral to some degree or another as the tree grows. It's so the next level of branches does not block sunlight from the one below. Juniper may spiral more than others and its bark often looks gnarly. No vortex involved. I think you need a floating magnetic compass, not an electronic/cell phone one to check to a vortex, but it's all crap anyway.

@hawksleym1

I’ve explored a good portion of the land around sedona and can confirm the spiraled juniper trunks are consistent throughout the area(maybe all around the southwest but not sure) and not centralized around any “vortex” “intersection point” “place of power” or any other specific location. I have particularly noticed the spiraled trunks on just about every hike at some point and sometimes have joked about the spiraling saying we must have found a “vortex.” I’m no juniper expert, but the cause may be that all juniper sometimes spirals, the specific type of juniper found here sometimes spirals or may have to do with the winds or other factors at each tree. Unfortunately we’ll have to find another way to prove the existence of the mystical energy. P.s. those floating compasses often get stuck without any supernatural interference…
@CactusAtlas
@CactusAtlas Год назад
You sound just like us. We often joke to each other about "vortexes" when we come across any twisted tree as well. 😅 Wind is most often the reason we've read about for the twisting. Regardless it makes for an interesting look! 👍
@owlenfamily

was the compass set for true north...or magnetic north...hmmm? 🤔
@CactusAtlas
@CactusAtlas 4 года назад
Not something I considered, but after checking, the answer is magnetic north.
@owlenfamily
@owlenfamily 4 года назад
@@CactusAtlas okay...well if magnetic north in sedona is to the east of true north...ie 10° clockwise...and if the vortex turns counterclockwise...then possibly...maybe... oh, wait a moment. is the battery of the iphone orientated with the positive terminal on the left side? i think the battery orientation of the new iphone causes a reverse polarity anti-vortex phenomenon. the next ios update is supposed to fix that though. 😉

I believe that if it makes people feel better or spiritual then it's real to them. No different than someone who believes in God, it's called faith, no real evidence. My two cents.
