This was absolutely brilliant. I had to pause to actually appreciate the line about Civic topics being mentioned as a part of history. The word-play on "Democracy, Secularism" being a part of history now was terrific word play - just brilliant!

I was someone who loves History and loved it in school.

I was mad when they removed Mughal history. Like they should've kept it we should know about the atrocities these islamic invaders committed like temple destruction, r@pe, torture, genocide. Or how they were so savages and barbaric and lustful that we have to literally come up with practices of Jauhar and Parda and Ghoonghat. Not this history manipulation like Akbar the "great" and how he was secular yet he killed natives and destroyed their places of worship or how Aurangzeb was a great religious scholar yet he literally committed genocide against hindus and Sikhs. I request the govt to bring back Mughal history and not the rosy picture that we were previously taught but the completely unbiased one.

Hey brother, NCERT hasn't dropped the Mughal Empire from the syllabus. (It's just a propoganda I guess.) What actually NCERT has done is 'syllabus rationalisation' , which means other lesser thaught topics have been added. In medieval history, majority emphasis was on the Mughals, and other kingdoms (Marathas,etc) were not or less represented. Now with rationalised syllabus, few irrelevant chapters of Mughals (courtroom administration,etc) are deleted and other chapters on various kingdoms, culture that represents Indian value system have been added. Before rationalisation medieval history had 70-80% about Delhi sultanate (Khiljis, tughlaqs, lodhis, etc) and Mughals. Basically the Islamic invaders. As an Indian while studying medieval history (for UPSC CSE) I used to feel why others great warrior kings of India are not thaught as much as these Islamic invaders. It's a good step guys. No one is changing or forgetting whatever our real history is. (I'm not taking stand for any political party but just as an Indian, I'm clearing the misinformation.)

Removing Mughal empire from history isn't manipulation. It would have been manipulation if the changed the outcomes in history. Muslim taliking about secularism and democracy is bigoted, there are 57 Islamic countries where secularism is dead and people are not allowed to leave Islam if they want to.
