It makes me so sad to see how low of veiws this gets. Keep grinding, I promise you this will make it's way to the greatet Yu-Gi-Oh and will blow up with views
I really like the way you explain everything as if we had never hear of it. Most (if not all) of your viewers are already familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh, but you keep explaining everything that was new at the time as if it were new to us in the present. It's nice to see that, kinda feels like you're evolving with the game
Spell rulers was always a fascinating format for me because I never knew what it was actually like. It was always a mystery to me because not many people ever really talk about it. All I knew was that this was the start of some really extremely powerful cards like painful choice, and I always wanted to know if people knew how powerful the spell cards were or if they just didn't give them a second look.
I have vivid memories of always buying packs of Magic Ruler from a gas station my dad stopped at all the time and always being disappointed by what I pulled and, more importantly, weirded out by some monsters like Kotodama.
I started playing in July 2002, when I was 11. Played a lot of playground YuGiOh with Metal Rulers format, a a Blue Eyes deck. The game rules were a little too complex, so most of us played closer to the rules used in Duelist Kingdom since Battle City hadn't aired yet. I pulled Relinquished and Blue Eyes Toon around Christmas, so I took a Pegasus deck to my only tournament that winter.
House Of Adhesive Tape ...I kinda hated this card as a kid, but now it’s probably one of the biggest nostalgia cards for me, due to it being a vivid memory of pulling it so often. Lol Really appreciate these videos and the deck list you piece over, been trying to find more on these first year formats and it gets real cloudy between MRD & LON.
@@JanjoZone it was from a guy at my card shop. We were talking about classic Yu-Gi-Oh and he was breaking down the different formats. Tbh he may have made up the term Chaser Format but it does seem fitting regardless.
@@JanjoZone that is possible. Let's be real though it's pretty difficult to quantify this specific period in Yu-Gi-Oh because of how much the power ceiling rose with MRL, and you can't say it's Android Format without Jinzo. I don't feel like you can say it's Critter Format because a standard deck from then would be at a huge disadvantage to someone running things like the Unholy Trinity, Snatch Steal and the other OP Magic cards from that time, plus someone could theoretically be running 3 Chasers instead of the La Jinns.
@@RenegadeGamer89 People had made up names for anything back then whether it was formats, rarities, etc. Chaser format is a cool name though if TP1 was a core set.
I'm trying to build a Relinquished deck with cards up until Pharaoh's Servant (so only 2002 cards) but I don't see any decklists from this era, do you have any build suggestions?
