What is your favorite video game promo card?

My dream yugioh video game would be a full 3d RPG of duelist kingdom: Playing as yourself. On the boat, the starships, the island, the castle,etc all of it! 🤩

I played the hell out of Eternal Duelist Soul when it came out. So much fun. I later played the first PS1 game at a friend's house and wondered what the hell was going on. It wasn't even yugioh! I was turned off by the game back then just because it wasn't real yugioh, but I really wanna go back and try it again now. Thanks for bringing back some early teenage memories!

Wow. Eternal Duelist soul was October 2002? Sounds about right. A month or so into the start of middle school for me. I first saw it in an ad in a sales paper and I asked my momma for it, and without question she was like “sure”. Weird cause I don’t think I ever just got something like that by asking and for no special occasion at all. ☺️

I can't help but feel Yu-Gi-Oh works better as a video game then as a competitive tcg. Not trying to put down anyone who enjoys the game (I'm a Pokemon TCG player primarily but I deeply enjoy TCGs in general), just with a lot of mechanics especially timing... It just feels better played as a video game. Still enjoy the GBA games.

Imagine a yugioh video game where we can have action duels. Running around grabbing cards and stuff while our monsters duke it out.

Eternal Duelist Soul is still my all-time favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! game. I loved that you could add your physical cards to the game with the password system

Ya know this is something i was always envious of. See my friends bought these games just for the promos and i was left with the game itself (Yeah i had some very stupid rich friends) I mean on one hand i got free GBA games but on the other i was always Envious of their shiny cardboard. But oh well, almost all my friends who had the promos got rid of them or lost them while i still got the games baby!

I once made up a style of dueling that mixes speed dueling with deck masters. Here are the rules- The field is the same as master rule five. Both players have a master skill they only use once per every three turns and a monster skill they can use once per turn. You must banish one monster from the main deck to represent the monster skill. This monster can be special summoned at any time except your battle phase and end phase. Also it’s original effects are negated. If your skill monster is destroyed you can’t use your monster skill for the rest of the duel. How ever if said monster is used for a tribute summon or special summon of a monster or as material for an extra deck monster then the new monsters becomes the skill monster how ever like before the effects of said monster are negated. Also cannot use two limited cards in the same deck. So for example you can’t run upstart goblin and monster reborn in the same deck but you can run two semi limited cards in the same deck but they must be two different cards except malicious or any semi limited cards that need multiple copies to work. Finally both players start with seven cards instead of five and neither player draws on there first turn regardless if there going first or second but after that players draw a card at the start of every turn after that. Both players can only use summoning methods in there extra deck per deck. So if you choose synchro and fusion for example you can only run those in the deck. And because pf that dimension barrier is banned since it would pretty unfair knowing your opponent always has only two types of extra deck monster. Aside from that all the other rules are the same.

I use the normal vanilla Magnets Warriors in my Adamcipator deck and its pretty fun to use cards from the past in newer decks!

I have no clue what this entire series was so dang interesting. Just been binging the whole thing. Felt like a nostalgia ride and Janjo has done a great job condensing history into a nice 9-20 min videos. Unlike some RU-vidr 🤭

My favorite promo cards were graceful dice,skull dice,exchange since those were the first ever promos I got so they are special,the yugioh video games I really are eternal duelist soul and nightmare Troubadour.

You can't use Metamorphosis with a monster that you took with Mind Controle, since Metamorphosis requires you to TRIBUTE the monster. But with that said, you could still take a Face- Down monster, and flip it face-Up to gain it's flip effect. Still enjoied the video emencesly, and loves your history videoes :D

So for Yugioh Forbidden Memories, my first copy had Dark Magician, Blue Eyes, and Exodia just like the GB game. However, after my orginal copy broke (I was a kid and had monster Rancher so I may have broke alot of game), I ordered a new one and it came with the traditional 3 found inside. I was always confused by this

Funny thing: in my city it became common for people to buy the games, take out the cards and resale the game used. It came to a point where the market was flooded with used games nobody was playing and that nobody was buying because, you guessed it, didn’t come with the promo cards.

I always liked the Prismatic Secret Rarity. Unfortunately they changed promo cards to Super Rares at some point.

Talk about the first Yugioh cd if you like, that was as epic as Pokemon first cd!

It's worth noting that the European versions of these games had some different promo cards than the US versions, though this wasn't always the case. I remember getting Stairway to the Destined Duel but it came with Seiyaryu, Acid Trap Hole and Salamandra instead. I also recall the Sacred Cards game having different promos.

Hahaha omfg I went with my older brother and my uncle to buy some gameboy games and I got World Championship 2004. I still have my slate warrior haha 😂

:-P and today Perfectly ultimate great moth is one of the best decks in Speed duel xD since i've started with LOB and the Yugi/Kaiba starter deck i've mostly played all the GBA Videogames as well as the PSX game... which iplayed for 2 hours and then never again and sold it since i totally didn't understand the fucking rules. oh and i forgot about the PC games... which i never bougth but had the games anyway... since... they where easy to crack xD also Kinetic soldier had also a change in element and was a light monster for a short periode of time

I remember my classmate in 6th grade had Dark Duel Stories and he was always talking about his dad buying him the tins, magazines, etc. Like he knew all the yugioh secrets before everybody else. He told me this rumor about there being a millennium cane and a millennium hand lol 😆 One day I told him I got eternal duelist soul, my first yugioh game. I can tell he was jealous cause he didn’t have it yet. He kept trying to warn me “it’s too difficult if you haven’t played the game boy color version first🤪” 😒yeah yeah okay guy 😆👌🏾

In my childhood: wow this promocards are cool Now as an adult: konami wants money and scammed us all in Addition these cards are BAD

Enjoyed the history aspect of the video, but if I were to be completely honest, the amount of self shilling was almost annoying. I do understand the want to promote yourself, but past a certain point there are diminishing returns and it could even drive away a perspective audience that would love your content. Well researched though! Keep up!
