I like how you offer choice in grip and take back. I just started experimenting with the two handed. I don't like continental either, but turns out that's exactly what I'm doing. I like Serena's take back. Short, simple. I'll worry about power strokes later.
Thanks for the information, in the process of learning a two handed backhand after using one handed for years, main reason is want more power and control on backhand side, have a decent one handed forehand with nice topspin so thinking the loop on backhand side will work well..backboard going to get tons of practice once its built soon. :)
This was short and sweet. Thanks for expaling the grip and acknowledging all the take backs... its really nice to have options and not be taught 'one' 'best' way... we all different. I am struggling so much with finding a natural feel for my backhand. I want to go and try all these. So helpful! Thank you
Always step into the ball, number one rule when I started playing. I was self taught for most part, plus lots of great friends showed me tons along the way. One thing thats totally wrong is this image of tennis only for juniors to turn pro..anyone can get there, takes time, dedication and commitment.
Which hand is more dominant in the stroke? Is the left leading and the right just provides extra support (kind of like a hitting a left-handed forehand with extra support), or is the right leading and the left just providing support (kind of like hitting a one-handed backhand with the left providing extra support)?
babolat pure control. Its the newer version of the pure storm. Great feeling racket, I have the lighter version as I spend alot of time feeding but the both this one and the tour version, which is heavier are great playing sticks.
Love the idea of different choices of grip and backswing. Any recommendations on how to get consistent on hitting the sweet spot. 90 % of times, I m not getting the racket contact feel as it is hitting a little off on the racket.
The only way you can improve that, is practice as many balls as you can, you can go for wall training which helps a lot to enhance the accuracy of shots.
I want to see a good shoulder turn and then after the contact accelerate to the finish. Having the left shoulder (for a righty) finish underneath the chin. Unlike the forhand I dont talk much about the core. More weight transfer and turning the shoulders.
Interesting. You don't twist your hips so much. I've been having lots of lower back pain when doing backhands. I think I might be doing the movement incorrectly.
hililala321 you shouldn't run around a backhand, in that case you should use either a forehand. Or if the ball is going out wide and you have no time you can slice
Serena's 2HBH in slow mo... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lwf7M8fTDNM.html Not seeing any low takeback here. She has a high takeback and then drops the racket with wrist flexion like Djokovic.
Timothy Smith I have large hands and think it might give an appearance of choking up. I don't promote choking up. In golf terms that would be the equivalent of shortening your clubs which robbs you of power. Hope that helps and thanks for watching
Poor explanation of grip. No consideration if you are left or rigt handed. He talks about panels and not bevels. Dosent say where he is starting counting bevels from and if he is going clockwise or anti clockwise.
You are supposed to know about bevels....that's why he says continental, eastern grip... most people are familiar with this terms, if you are not google it
