I've changed out four hives at this point. EVERY time I change one, it takes about two weeks for the colony to adjust and then they just explode in population and productivity. If they do well over the winter, I'm changing everything in the spring and selling my wood boxes. These hives are outstanding -- the Yeti cooler of beehives. Also, the Anel top feeder is outstanding for sugar water.

I now have seven Anel hives. My bees are twice as productive as those in traditional wood hives. They are like Yeti coolers! These are amazing. Don't forget the Anel Top Feeder.

I started my first Anel hive with a new package of bees last week. I have the same top feeder you have in this video. I checked it today to see how much sugar water they went thru and there were about 30-40 dead bees floating in it. I’m trying to figure out how they got into the main area and how they even feed out of this type feeder. Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated!

How do you recommend winterizing Anel beehives? Winter feeding and vent setups are issues I'm curious about. If a vent is left open, would you pack the lid with burlap to eliminate drafts and condensation?

I'll add, initially I was going to run vent setup with only one open over winter. Someone who runs over a hundred of these told me that they close all the vents in Winter. I'm not sure I'm willing to do that without some confirmation that I won't injure the bee population. Any advice is appreciated.

Remember, we're new to the Anel also. With that being said, I think one vent left open is a good idea. But also I think about the colonies I have in wooden ware and no vent up top other than what the bees don't seal. Burlap on the propolis trap would be a good idea, if you chose to leave a vent or not. Btw, the Anel hive top feeder has a dry feed option you may want to consider. #RTBBF! Thanks for the question.

Hey Sammy. An entrance reducer can be used for several reasons, such as preventing rodents and skunks, regulating temperature, and protecting the hive against a group of wasps or hornets. Thanks for asking!

What is the best way to use Oxalic Acid vapor with these hives or is it not possible?

Very easy to treat in the Anel hives with Oxalic Acid. It can be sent through the guard holes in front or applied in liquid form if you don't have a vaporizer. Thanks for question. #RTBBF

Looking at the cost im not feeling it for $300. If it was like 200-250 maybe, I can get the same size wooden hive with everything including frames 2 deep boxes and 2 supers for like $150-200 plastic also is far cheaper to make, wooden hives at the least have work done by hand and the wood has a cost, i feel like plastic hives should be cheaper due to the fact that plastic is just easier and cheaper to make stuff out of.
