It probably hasn’t been tested for the ECE certification but has in other countries and ya it would be the same exact helmet just without U.S. ECE certification.
So, this is an upgrade of the IS17. The main reason I got the IS17 is because of the 5 star SHARP rating. Any idea if Sharp is going to test this? Internal sunvisor helmets have 0 chance of getting Snell approved. I'm just looking for a + over just DOT/ECE.
No idea on the Sharp test. That is a UK thing and not really relevant to helmets sold in the US. The Sharp system is not without it's problems. Take a minute to do some research and see what you find. - Van
They are not including the chin curtain with many of their current models. While everyone is different I know I typically remove them from the helmets I ride in. - Van
Hello Brian: My head measurement is 58cm/22.5". According to the size chart it shows Medium. Should I order the medium or large? It seems buyers of other brands usually mention to get a size larger. Thank you.
I own one, great helmet! Is there a way to adjust the drop down? Recently my drop down is being a pain and not coming down fully, it gets stuck and I have to pull it down manually
Sorry I do not believe there is an adjustment. Pretty sure that would be covered under warranty and could be repaired or replaced. Before you call it in take a look at the inner shield and make sure it is clipped in all the way. - Van
@sportbiketrackgear does the dropdown visor lever being on the side cause any issues with installing a com system? I am torn between this one and the i10. I like the graphics on this a little better and the sun visor is a plus. But the i10 is SNELL and is set up for the 10B com system. Any input?
I prefer the i10 and really like the Sena they have for that helmet. If the drop down inner is not something you have to have I think you get a little nicer helmet with the i10. - Van

This offers a reasonable amount of ventilation. As with any helmet that offers a drop down screen the ventilation is a little less effective than one that does not have the drop down as it allows the designer to place the vents in the best spots. Take a look at the HJC i10. - Van
hi and greetings from germany, i wanna buy the DC bane i70 but its a mat one and not glossy. so how sensitive is a mat Helmet? can you help me? an my head size is 56,5 cm when i take size M then the Helmet is 57/58 cm. is that ok
At that measurement I would start with a medium considering how close you are. If you are not able to try one on at a shop make sure you wear it in the house before you ride in it to make sure you are happy with the fit. - Van

How is the aerodynamics (eg for head checks at motorway speeds) and the noise insulation? I find some cheaper helmets they catch the wind, and jolt the head sometimes... My arai is the most aerodynamic, but its very noisy.
This is not a helmet I plan to ride in personally. The biggest difference between high end helmets and those that are more affordable will be performance while riding. You almost always get much better aerodynamics, less noise and better venting with more expensive helmets. Also important to note proper helmet fit is key for good performance. If the helmet is too big it will be be much noisier than it is designed to be. - Van
Does this replace the IS 17? if so, does it have the same fit as the IS 17? I have the IS 17 and want to upgrade; the RPHA 70 st is much better than the i 70? So I can order the same size as the IS 17. Thanks.
I would say the fit between the i70 and the IS 17 is very similar and you could go with the same size. The i70 is a bit nicer than the IS 17. Now to be fair the RPHA 70 is much nicer than both the i70 and the IS 17 as it should be considering the price difference between them. If you decide to go with the RPHA 70 we have found this helmet to run smaller than marked for most. I wear a medium in the i70 and a large in the RPHA 70. - Van
I have a roof helmet and it’s a small 54-56 but I measure a 57 which is a medium but I don’t want a loose fit. Should I get a small or medium in a hjc?

Thanks for the videos, I currently have a Bell Qualifier, which for 80$ was a good first season helmet. Now I am looking to upgrade, would this be an acceptable second helmet?
Second? You must be kidding me. This is 100% better than your first helmet. This is top helmet from top manufacturer. HJC is one of the safest helmet manufacturers in the World.
@@motomehanicar459 top helmet? It's in the entry-mid range helmet at best. As for their "top" helmets, rpha 11 is rated only 3/5 stars in SHARP which is unacceptable. HJC is still a solid brand and has one of the smoothest visor system i've seen in a helmet so far. You can easily swap face shields with one hand no problem
@@batperson3532 "Top" for the price. They have their own test lab, they are present in MotoGP, WSBK, etc for many years. That's a good indicator of their quality.
Hi, I just bought one of this size M my head is 57cm (larg is tok big) i feeling very uncomfortable specially my cheekbones really hurts after few minutes. I used hjc c15 many years ago and was perfect. Should I get bigger one or maybe different pads if possible. Cheers
Contact the shop you purchased this from and they can help you get this covered under warranty. HJC is a stand up company and will get you sorted out. - Van
For many riders that shop at this price point the cert is not the priority. To be fair any helmet from a respected brand that fits properly is likely to protect the rider in a crash. You would be very surprised to see how many riders wear a helmet 1-2 sizes too big. - Van
Looking at the helmet I would expect it to be waterproof under reasonable amounts of rain. That said I would not go scuba diving in this and expect to stay dry. - Van
why all helmets nowdays must have inner visor?i dont need it.i want venhilation channels in my forehead.thats why i think i m gonna end in the bell srt,altought i dont like it, its shape and that it looks big.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, this is not a model I would ride in personally. Important to note helmet fit is very important if you want the helmet to be as quiet as possible. If the helmet is even a little too big it will be louder than it is designed to be. IMO ear plugs are needed with any helmet that is well ventilated. - Van
