@@miamyerssinger the hell you say? Higher property values keep those groups out not hoa's. In fact the only thing an hoa prevents is that recently divorced single mother who is working 2 jobs trying to keep her kids in a good school and is having trouble keeping up with the lawn mowing because she no longer can afford to pay a landscaper, it prevents her from having even a moment's peace. Or the guy who runs a small business out of his garage, or the woman who sells ebay, or the family who wants to build a treehouse. No screw the HOAs of America and everyone who sits on their boards. Annoying or even outright interfering with an hoa is a good thing, they are like the freaking mob in texas. You never really own your property if you live in an hoa, and for most people that's not by choice, the best schools are surrounded by hoa neighborhoods.

@@panzerknackerauto8227 the kill Dozer taught us that if u want to take out building u need some rounds for the Cannon for safety issue like some cops with dozer blocking the road for example
I doubt any HOA members were against the tank. I imagine it was just the power-hungry HOA president and a few yes-men/yes-women around him/her, if any.
Assuming its the heaviest variant of a traditional M4, which it probably isnt. Its only about ~84,000 ish lbs. A rotator designed for semi trucks wouldnt have a problem. That and a flatbed. Bam gone.
@plyst3 a rotator truck and a flatbed service including the road stoppage into the neighborhood and possible yard damage by the truck would cost thousands possibly tens of thousands, I don’t think that hoa could get those kinds of funds...
Sounds like an arrogant b ..man. It's in the fricking public road. He should have informed the HoA ahead of time and asked for permission, or put it in a storage lot.
@@veralenora4033 Other than fining the individual, what can the HOA do...? He paid $600k for it... you think a few fines are going to hurt him? That tank is a piece of American history. @@miamyerssinger No they aren't, but do you want to fight a gentleman with a tank? He is doing/he did nothing wrong, and I'm just sad I wasn't able to see it myself despite living in another country, this man is ensuring the long term preservation of history, which is more than the HOA happened to be doing by trying to have it removed.
Is it legal to park a tank on a public street? Is it licensed? That’s a whole separate issue he needs to deal with. Not with the HOA but with the city or state police.
@@xiaoka It's legal to drive a tank in a public road as long as the tracks are made out of rubber so the tank's weight doesn't destroy the road, so yep.
"move this tank" yes. Because apparently, ordering a person WITH A GODDAMN TANK is a wise decision? *Right?* Hell, probably the only reason they even give a shit is because it shows more authority than the HOA will ever have. Lmfao
HOA: *Get that tank out of here now* _Calls tow truck_ Tank Owner in his tank while tow truck pulls up, rotating the turret: *Nice tow truck, shame if something happened to it*

HOA: No! We don't have to! Owner: So X isn't breaking any rules and you refuse to provide proof of your complaint claims. Why should I do what ypu say? HOA: BECAUSE WE ARE THE HOA! WE OWN YOU!
Robert MacDuffie actually they don't prevent trashy neighbors. There are plenty of "hands off" HOAs out there that just take the money and perform 0 enforcement.
@@Краснаяармиясамаясильная-б9ы Broke down more often, it was more expensive to repair which wasn't practical for the latter years, the time to produce one took so long they could have made 5 Shermans and finally the gun was so big it couldn't go in built up areas as the gun would catch on buildings. It was another classic Hitler taking over the design process like most overpowered things which stole too many of their resources, were impractical and always failed in some way. Great tank but practicality was lost and seen very quickly by the first few years. if they had made panthers or more panzer IV's then there would have been just as much success as lack of numbers was always Nazi Germany's Achilles heel. One Tiger 1 vs three IS 2's would be pretty evenly balanced but it isn't a problem for the U.S.S.R as they produce them in higher quantity.
Scooter Grant Actually, from the German perspective, the Tiger was the right choice for Germany. Think of this: Germany had fewer resources and a smaller industrial base compared to the likes of, say, the United States. So it’s already a given they can’t out produce them. So if you can’t outproduce them, they could at least try to create something that will kill as many of them as possible before getting destroyed. How do you do this? You improve the armour and the Gun. With regards to the poor maintenance and reliability, Germany was mainly on the defensive to begin with when the Tiger began to enter service so they weren’t necessarily concerned with attacking. (other than possibly Kursk and the Ardennes.) So taking this into account, with Germany’s limited resources, it made sense to invest Said resources meant for 5 Tanks in something that will likely kill more than 5 Tanks while it’s alive.
@@xavi-kun You make a very good point. I'll take that on board. The only thing is that with most of Nazi Germany's ambitious designs, the requirements of were made by Hitler and we can see that in many of the designs to which there is a great look into power. I'd guess this is because he had planned that once the Third Reich had expanded sufficiently, they wouldn't need to bother about resources as much. But of course, as the war turned around fast, his lack of foresight to a slow building empire resulted in some issues. This does raise the point as to what would have come after the King Tiger if resources were good.
Good luck trying. If it's not in neutral, there's NO WAY they're going to put it up on a heavy duty lowboy to haul it without at least a 100 ton (or more) crane. All that would cost tens of thousands to do, and a rigging company isn't going to do that without money up front.
+ffjsb Just so you know. River Oaks is the RICHEST area of Houston. They can very easily afford the bill. He paid 600 thousand dollars for the tank and it's parked in front of his house. He can afford the bill. LOL

brings to mind the scene in "tank" when james garner has the tank in front of the police station and the cop comes out with his gun raised, and garner says: "I think I got you covered"...really think a tow truck company or the HOA is gonna make that tank move before it wants to?
There are some that do good things. As with most services you hear about the ones who screw people over much more than the good ones because if they do the job right there isn't anything to talk about. Good things that HOAs have been formed to do include community property/utilities like maintaining a shared well, parks, and roads for communities outside of a city. To keep an HOA from going bad the community needs to be involved to keep the control freak assholes from getting onto the board and changing the rules to make their personal utopia/everyone's distopia.
They are good for older people who are unable to do yardwork or property upkeep, but who are not ready for assisted living yet. Unfortunately there are a minority of HOAs where some "Nazi" gets control and suddenly vehicles start getting towed because they have bumper stickers or an American flag in the rear window.
A regular tow truck would not be able to move it. That only means they wouldn't call a regular tow company. There are trucks big enough to do the job so it is a matter of finding someone with such a truck and hiring them for the job.
All you would have to do if the do attempt to tow it, is jump in and button up LOL, no one would even attempt to tow it (even a tank recovery vehicle) with it running!
He said they could try to tow it😂 imagine being a tow truck driver and told there is a vehicle that needs to be towed, you drive up and it's a damn Sherman tank 🤣
IcantSignIn in order for him to have bought it the cannon must be inoperable. He needs a special license to have the cannon working but that removes the possibility of making it road legal. If he adds things like brake lights, head lights (which it might already have, a license plate, and rubber tracks then he can drive it around too. (Which is why it's in the wood since if it was just on the ground he could damage the road.)
A license plate...so he won't be confused with all the other tanks on the road. Brake lights in case someone can't see the tank in front of them. Yes, I know these things. Lots of little infringements...ummm...I mean fees and taxes on his constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Only the rich can afford adequate protection. Rubber tracks are all he needs, even then road damage is inevitable rolling 35-40 tons down it.
