This is just what my wife and I have been waiting for. Bought 2 and couldn't be happier. Light, stackable and easy to setup. Glad to finally find a pedal kayak that's not a back breaker.

We were hoping to keep one for a shop demo (meaning a staff boat) but we sold them all like crazy. We have another small order of them coming and are taking deposits on them. It's an incredible boat.

I'll be getting one of these as soon as I can find one. I love my 2020 camo Outback but I have some great fishing spots that I can't get the Outback too, but could with this.

Cool concept on the rudder assembly, making it detachable. Hobie could even market that as an add on kit to any kayak…

Hi Howard, I didn't get a chance to take it in anything choppy but I anticipate it being fine. My only concern in windy conditions is trying to cast and fish. It's so lightweight it will get blown around more than a heavy kayak like the pro angler.

Supply is very limited and will remain limited through 2022 as well. We have several on order for next year but also several already pre-sold.

Nice review! have you guys had any trouble with the hull noise spooking fish when sight casting?

If there’s any hull noise, it would have to be really windy. Which in that case, it would be very difficult to hold position. And, fish are generally a little less spooky in big wind. I’m normal fishing conditions, while sight casting, there is no hull noise. Unless maybe you drop something on the kayak or bump into a dock or something. But not much you can do about those situations.

I also understand the convenience of the Hobie Lynx Mirage Kayak as demonstrated in the video. But what about the thickness of the kayak? I haven't seen a video of it breaking yet.

They are not as durable as a rotomolded kayak and need a little extra care. They can't handle drops, etc. We haven't had any issues with our store demo though

I’d be interested in your fly fishing setup. I have one and the peddles and other “stuff” gets tangled in the strip line.

It definitely takes some time to figure out how/where to strip the line for minimal tangles. Even then, I still get tangles and am working on a prototype accessory to help with that issue.

How tough/resilient is the Lynx hull compared to a rotomolded Hobie hull?

It is definitely NOT as tough. Luckily with only being 45 pounds it is easy to move around.

The rudder is not available separately at this point but possibly in the future.

We have a handful shipping to us and we are taking deposits on them. Once those are gone it will be more like the end of the year or early next year before we get more. Pretty much all Hobie dealers are in the same "boat" this year.
