Hobie Mirage Passport R Series Walk-Through

Can’t wait to see other new kayaks hobie are making for 2023

I have a 10 year old Mirage Sport so to me this looks fantastic and full of innovation and improvements!

Was this the big news to be released today from Hobie??? 🤦🏼‍♂️

Unfortunately Hobie is not very responsive. I both, called and left a message via their website message portal and they did not respond to either query. My initial question was regarding the 10.5R as I was interested in deck pads for the new kayak we purchased. They simply did not respond. After a couple of weeks I did get ahold of them via phone but they still could not respond definitively. The bottom line here is the Passport 12 and the 10.5R are completely two different kayaks. Therefore if Hobie is going to present a video such as this one they should have done a separate one for the 10.5R because they are vastly different. There is no real reason they had to omit a transducer cavity on the 10.5R as they are both considered FISHING KAYAKS! This is very frustrating for people when they are purchasing a new kayak. And deck pads! They molded the floor differently between the two models and because they did, we cannot get deck pads for the 10.5R.

What an underwhelming model. Still $2000 and fewer features than a bass pro kayak. Sad that hobie has decided to sell garabage now.

So I can also upgrade the Rudder with this R series right

This was the big announcement for today? Wtf...

I own a passport 12.0 from 2022. I have added several things like the new rudder, rectangular hatch, more tracks, 6mm deck pad, fish finder... What does this option offer thats an upgrade? It still has the bad seat, same layout, and zero improvements over the thermoformed version.

I come here to express my total disregard for the kayakers who own Hobie kayaks, as I have now contacted them and was informed that there will no longer be any Kayaks imported by the company. Looking at the comments here, everyone is talking about the kayaks and how they are going to let us down like this, without support or parts. You had an obligation to make an agreement with Hobie in the USA because the amount of kayaks you sold was much more than the sailboats that serve only one class of the Brazilian population that is most well-off. Hobie Brasil only became known for kayaks and not for sailboats here in Brazil. Here is my total indignation with Vestergaard Comercio de Artigos Esportivos, Ltda (trade name Hobie Brasil) what a disappointment. I hope that Pacheco who left that company gets representation so he can sell Hobie Kayaks. Thank you Vestergaard Comercio de Artigos Esportivos, Ltda for your disregard for all Kayakers in Brazil.

No transducer mount on the 10? Does the older passport 10 have this?

Still no 180 drive. How expensive is it add the required componts?

Is there a tutorial on how to install fish finder with this model. Saw one for the older model but this one has different holes etc.

Non adjustable seat, hand retractable rudder even though there’s an upgraded rudder that can be retracted by a rope, same weak plastic accessory rails as previous gen. Lame. I have a passport but no way I’m upgrading it to this. Once it kicks the bucket I’m going with another brand. Hobie you should just sell your drives and modify them so they fit other kayak makers that actually have great kayak features.

How much does it weigh?

When is this R model coming to the southeast Asian market (Malaysia)Singapore)?

When will the passport r arrive for Brazil the model launched in 2022 and if not why

I’m confused about the front deck area. Some videos I’ve seen show the 8 inch round molded area. Some show what looks like the old design.

YOU FINALLY FIXED THE SEAT!! Well, you made the seat actually secured... But its still way too low of a seat in this kayak. Bottom line, loving this new rotomold and cannot wait to see how your team evolves in the next 10 years.

Hobie we love your kayaks but please please please make a modular 2 piece fishing kayak. Change the future of kayaks! An outback that you can split in two and chuck in the back if the car. Come on 🙏

Nice job hobie, dont let people hate, everyone got spoiled and entitled, this is a kayak that gives you what you need, no fluff, God for bid people have to do some add ons for themselves and do a little work or dare I say it, use there paddle to go backwards, most people that hate these models have never even touched one let alone got out on the water in one
