I wanted to take a moment and express my appreciation to you for posting this. I'm diving in to wiring and installing electrical accessories and it's still new to me. This made it easier to understand. I have an aluminum rad with two fans and bought a 40a relay on Amazon. Wish I'd seen that Mr. Gasket one, but I think what I have will work.

Nice video! I used an 18", two speed Derale fan and used the dual fan output to control the two speeds. Works fantastic! BTW, I get 58 psi before the eng even starts.

Should I add a fuse to the battery wire before the relay, or is that not needed?

I'm setting mine up now and just used the same gauge but used a barbed inline connector right before the unit. I havent turned it all on yet so not sure how it will work but should be fine and I should find out probably Friday when I hope to be ready for 1st start up since 2005 in my 1970 442. I may have posted a video on my channel I cant remember if it was included in the quick look over vids I posted

Screw the probes, you’re right it’s a ghetto solution. Use a thermostat style fan switch in the cylinder head. Works just like a thermostat except instead of opening a passage way for coolant to flow it closes a switch and provides continuity to ground for the control side of a fan relay, exactly how the sniper system does. However with the sniper there’s no need for one of those, I eliminated mine when I installed my stealth system. I’m just saying the probes suck, never used one, never seen one, I always used the cylinder head mounted fan switches. I hate that style gauge too personally. I put one on my fuel pump outlet, brand new pump it reads 50psi but I’m not really doubting the pump yet. I’ve had multiple gauges like that, you pay out the nose for them and the longest I’ve had one last is a year with the old carb setup, one dies within weeks, one never even worked (this one may make #2 DOA) so I finally went with holley’s sender and 2.5” electric gauge... sender worked but leaked fuel from the start. Chinese quality for American made prices. Tired of it. It’s far too prevalent in the automotive aftermarket these days, like my latest garbage MSD blaster coil outperformed by the factory coil...

I hope you got a fan shroud,since the fan will only cool that one section while you are stopped.

Good and VERY informative video. What have you done to upgrade the amperage and be able to run all the newly added electronics?

Great video... sry for the stupid question but I suck at wiring. So there is no need to ground the relay itself? Just the blue wire from Holley system to 85 good enough?
@GODSPEEDGarage
@GODSPEEDGarage 5 лет назад
no stupid questions! that's how you learn... you don't need to ground the relay. the sniper system is grounded from the battery. you DO still need to ground your fan, and that's the only ground you need. hope that helps. thanks for watching!!
@rusosmith9013

Can you ground the fan to the battery? Is that good enough?

Putting in a fuel pressure gauge there only tells you if your fuel pump in the tank is working. What about if the built in pressure regulator goes haywire? You still won't be able to diagnose that right?
@GODSPEEDGarage
@GODSPEEDGarage 4 года назад
@Stallion Ranch Woodworks THANKS for watching!! no... the Sniper unit regulates the pressure on the Return (outlet) port - where I have the gauge attached. according to Holley - the pump can pump much higher than 60 psi, the pressure regulator in the unit keeps the pressure at 58.5-60 psi. check my other vids - I bought an early model, they had issues with the pressure regulators. Holley was great and sent me a corrected one. twice... long story... THANKS AGAIN!!

So how were you able to get W.O.T. with the stock throttle cable?
@QdotRich
@QdotRich 5 лет назад
Did you use the ground wire coming from the fan? Or you just used the power wire and let 85 on relay be the ground to cut the fan on at set temperature? Great video!
@GODSPEEDGarage
@GODSPEEDGarage 5 лет назад
you still need to ground the ground wire from the fan to the frame or other reliable ground source. the power wire will go to the relay. hope that helps! thanks for watching!

Does the fan is ment to push air towards the engine correct?
@GODSPEEDGarage
@GODSPEEDGarage 4 года назад
@Marco Olivares yes you are correct. you can set up the fan to be a "pusher" by reversing the wires, in which case you would also mount it on the front (outside) of the radiator. hope that helps. THANKS FOR WATCHING!!

How do you like the sniper kit over all.Would you still buy it knowing what you know now..
@GODSPEEDGarage
@GODSPEEDGarage 5 лет назад
well... it's kinda like a computer - great when it works like it's supposed to... a complete nightmare when it doesn't. I've never used any of the other ones (like the fitech, fast, MSD, etc...) so I can't say fairly how well it compares. I will say - Holley customer service and tech support has been great to deal with. and there are a ton of accessories (though they are quite expensive - kinda feels like you're paying for the name), and this system can do a ton of cool things... overall I would say yes I would buy it again. it's nice getting in my truck and it fires right up every time no matter how cold it is outside (I live in central Oregon - about 3200 elevation, and ranges from 90 degree summers to -10 winters!) hope that helps! thanks for watching!

GODSPEED Garage my first thought when I saw that was it would be cool to set that tank under a false floor in a tool box I got the in cab tank and need to pull it, I was thinking of a 1st gen Camaro tank behind the license plate would be cool but I’d need something like you did temporarily to drive it
@GODSPEEDGarage
@GODSPEEDGarage 5 лет назад
@@lestrotter8557 yeah my other idea was to cover it with one of those half wine barrels. you see at stores... to make it look kinda like a moonshiner... it works for a temporary tank. I do have it strapped down (for obvious reasons) I just modified the straps that came of the 75.

Subbed here. Check my videos. Very cool bro. I have been told by people i trust to not leave a fuel pressure gauge in the engine bay. Install gauge and use for testing then remove and install a plug. From what i was told is that the gauge can go bad or rupture and turn your ride in to a flaming torch. Looks like u could index that fitting a bit to allow gauge to sit sideways. Im also running a small block with sniper. I tend to like to keep motor under 200 i have 160 stat and keep it 170ish i prefer to have that extra window if temp starts climbing then i have more time to be able to pull off and shut down or speed up if possible. At 200f 240 can come up really quick. Am i crazy or is this just a difference of opinions
