In The Blood is one of their best serious songs. There are a few tear-jerkers as well. But don't completely overlook their funny song. Laughter is great medicine, and they can truly bring it.

Austin really put his heart in this song. He had a little extra incentive, he brought his girlfriend to the studio and put her next to the camera. Every time he looked at the camera he was singing to her. This Percy Sledge song was a perfect fit for Austin’s voice. I grew up on the Percy Sledge song but now I prefer Austin’s version. A couple of their serious songs that are very powerful and emotional are: BROTHER-IN-ARMS a Dire Straights cover honoring are Vets and the other is GO REST HIGH ON THAT MOUNTAIN a Vince Gill cover of a very emotional song ( reminds me some of HOW GREAT THOU ART). This was recorded during the quarantine, so the guys were locked-down in their respective homes in 3 different states. They each had internet/studio areas in their places, hooked up to their manager's computer. Austin Brown's lovely partner was who he had his eye on while filming this. He has his own channel of music under his name with some fantastic numbers performed with musician friends. Bring Him Home from Les Miz, recorded in his living room, is breathtakingly awesome. Another one you might want to check out is Austin's Take the Night Off. Amberly is in the video with him and it is so lovely.

Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.

I was around when Percy put the original. I agree with your interpretation. I said once before that Percy's version was "Aw, naw, what have I done" while Austin's was "Yeah, man, this is great! Lookie what I found" lol You're gonna love every HF song you named. Their take on In the Blood is especially phenomenal.

They do tend to Leave me speechless! You’ll love “In the Blood,” “Brothers In Arms,” “Unchained Melody” (Austin did a single of this on his channel but HF also did theirs), “God Bless the USA,” for live, “Dreamer” Live at The Ryman (an original by HF) featuring Texas Hill, and a couple of Christmas songs that are excellent, “O Holy Night” from the earlier years and “Mary Did You Know” from last year. Oh one of my favorites “Do You Hear What I Hear.” There is so much to choose from but you’ll never go wrong or be disappointed with anything they do.

There's a bunch of solo/side work with Home Free members. Tim did 2 or more albums, one recently. Austin has a few side songs such as Bring Him Home. There's some side work with instrumentalists joining in also. Tim's doowop work is wonderful.

Your reaction to this got me to subscribe. Made me laugh, but I was also clapping. You know Austin got it, and you got it that Austin got it and really HAD it and sold it. BAM! Have you done the funny ones yet? Sometimes we all just have to get some good laughs and great music and voices that go with it. Why not? Give them a change after you finish hunting for those deep and emotional ones. Some can get pretty goofy but so much fun.

Home Free is #1 for me with VoicePlay running a close 2nd. VoicePlay is more theatrical than Home Free and PTX. VoicePlay cover of Dream On by Aerosmith, Hoist The Colors or Dragon Born Come from Skyrim are all awesome.

I respect Percy Sledge's version as the original; nice soul presentation but lacks any warmth (IMHO). Michael Bolton brings much more soul into his version--it really gives you the idea he is feeling it personally; it is the version I've had on my playlist for decades. But--Home Free's version? Austin's high notes are every bit as amazing as the others. And ALL completely acapella?!? With their harmonies and Adam's vocal percussion too?!? No solo act is ever going to best their version as far as I'm concerned. Theirs is now what plays on my regular playlist❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️ Home Free has been such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout (even though they weren't even in the same state!)--has brought along many HF converts. Got to ❤️❤️❤️ Home Free!!

Chance,Tim, and Austin have solo channels. I strongly recommend “I Can’t Outrun You “, an emotional Chance lead, pure 5 part harmony, and Chance directed the video. “Blue Ain’t Your Color “, very Motownesque, Rob lead. “Dreamer”;Rob lead, but PLEASE do the studio version first, before you do the live version with Texas Hill. “Castle On the Hill” is fantastic (I like it better than the original). “Take Me Home, Country Roads” is their rendition of a John Denver song, and it’s beautiful.
