Registered Nurses (RN) can perform a variety of clinical services for their patients in the home. Amber describes what sort of care she is able to offer to home health patients, including blood draws, labs, and comprehensive assessments.
Home health nurses do general assessments, wound care, blood draws, injections, PICC line care, Pleurx draining, trach care, catheters, and patient teaching. There’s more but this is what immediately came to mind. Of course all of this depends on the company you work for… HH nurses don’t assist with ADL’s. That’s either the patient/family’s job or they may have a home health aide to come in for that.
