problem with rigid frame is only good on totally smooth like pavement where we can NOT legally even ride

ayy do it! and in regards to ur other comment: the bike already had a jackshaft on it from another build so i would have had to do more work to remove it than to just keep it. Also, jackshafts are great for allowing a ton of gearing leeway, so if i'm not happy with the gearing i can just swap out a sprocket on the shaft instead of engine pto or wheel hub! And I was taking er' a little easy since the engine is new. Thanks dude!

Often it is simply alignment issue ...sprocket on wheel HAS TO be in direct line with sprocket on engine.and pivot of swingarm and engine sprocket have to be fairly similar I think...a properly engineered/placed jack shaft theoretically can correct that ....another thing that has to be right is the swing arm axis relative to axis of engine sprocket ...if too far offset chain is going to go through HELL! I had a poorly engineered minibike as a kid (make /model was Taco 44 circa '67ish?) that was frustrating as HELL! Any good dip or bump and it threw it's cheesy little chain ....it had a swing arm and a jackshaft UNLIKE the cheaper WAY MORE RELIABLE Taco 22 that had a rigid frame ...no jackshaft no swingarm no rear shocks ....I paid like 33% more money to have a piece of CRAP! I was just a kid or would have been smart enough to get rid of jack shaft and replace shocks with rigid metal bars effectively downgrading it to a heavier Taco 22 ....but instead I just lived in agony

I grew up on Honda dirt bikes from 50cc 70cc and everything else they made my favorite bike of my childhood was a 1971 Honda SL70 ! my first factory made enduro! I lived on that bike ! LMAO and will cherish its memory forever! ride on bro! i've been rideing motorcycles for 50 years this year! I ride a kawasaki 1500fi nomad 2002 these days!

the engine came with a sprocket, and I welded a separate one to it. I'm sure there are maybe some tutorials on the 'tube for u

@@OliverMotorized I didn't want to weld on to the shaft because I thought it would ruin the bearings, but since you mention welding...will it be okay to weld it on the shaft

noo, sorry I welded another sprocket to the one that came with the engine, so that I could fit the chain I was using. Dirt bike sprockets have little splines on them that fit the motor output-- that's what I'm using.
