Nice. My home is also 100 years old. Built in 1922. Ordered from a Sears catalogue. Every house on my street is a Sears Craft Home from 1920's

I am a structural engineer and I also deal with damage to houses. The damage pictures, which one could see in the video, say that the damages at Shelbys house are probably settlement cracks, since the building ground settled differently. What surprises me is that the house is almost a hundred years old, the ground should be consolidated, which should not happen unless something from outside causes it (mining, heavy transport in the vicinity or other vibrations). In Germany, such cracks show up more often in the Ruhr area, where mining was active. What I want to say is, if the reasons for the constantly growing and more cracks are to be found outside the building structure, then the rehabilitation can go on endlessly. Even though it may be expensive, I would consult a structural engineer and a state-certified soil expert beforehand. I hope my English is understandable, I really don't use my professional terminology in English very often. By the way, is the house a timber frame house with a clinker brick facade or is it solidly built, i.e. reinforced concrete and bricks? Btw, I like the four little bunnies at the entrance!

Video the house repairs, but no second channel, it takes a lot of your time, that you don't have enough of.

There are companies that do stuff to address subsiding properties/buildings; try looking into what they can do for. I suggest doing so sooner than later. A home can be a real pain in the butt to maintain, but should be a decent investment. We had two houses for almost 20 years (jobs quite a distance apart) and with deductions for the loans we did ok. When my wife got a retirement buyout a couple years back, we sold the house by her job and it paid off the second house!

From a "build your brand" POV I think it would be best if you keep all your videos on one channel. From my POV HBTM is all about the life of Shelby & Dakota (can't forget Dakota) who work in trucking and give good advice about trucking. But you also talk about a bunch of other stuff related to you.

Always love your content. We retired and moved into a house built in 2002 on 3.6 acers which is too much for us so we will probably move again. Prior to that we lived in a house built in 1924 and lived in it for 22 years. They don't make houses like that anymore and even though there was some foundation issues like you are facing we still sold it for a great price and I would not have a problem buying a house of that age again!

It looks like you have some foundation settling issues. You may want to get that checked/ fixed first. It would be a waste of time to try and fix the inside and then try to fix the outside. You would risk cracking the drywall

Dakota is a sweet dog. She reminds me of our last dog, Honey. Honey was a border collie and as sweet as could be. We lost her several years ago to inoperable cancer but I miss her every day. Yes Dakota sometimes gets in the way when you're trying to concentrate or making a video. She just wants your attention and doesn't understand what you're trying to do. By the way I'm in frigid eastern Iowa so be glad you're not. It's inhumanly cold here. Anyway, that's all!! 😊

My freightliner had a leak in the leveler to engage the interaxle differential lock. Once I unengaged it the leak stopped, but it's got to get looked at and fixed when I get time. But it can be used and run til I can get it looked at. Maybe this helps, and you have same issue???

So at the quick glance… the house has had previous foundation repairs because the mortar was different. Should have been disclosed at sale, the company that did it may have lifetime warranty if you can see who did it

Shelby,. the crack is the result of foundation movement, settlement. I'm an architect-engineer and have assessed and worked to resolve foundation movement numerous times. Contact me to discuss resolution before this gets worse. BTW love your videos and your chat

I think you should just keep 1 channel. You could do 2. Only if you want to. My brother is a RU-vidr. His channel is called No Nonsense Know How. He was a master mechanic. But his channel involves anything with a motor. You might be interested.
