Good to know your page is about ruining comics for anyone who watched the show and had an interest in reading the comics. you ruined it for a short smh. Why not do a whole series on the boys instead of a short spoiler

You waited 15 years from the comics release date and 3 years from the release of the show, to CONSIDER reading The Boys. Then complained because you watched a short that revealed one of the 9 plots in The Boys. Ya, I dont feel bad for you

I do like the changes in the show though, I think they tell a different story. Superman was always the American image after ww2. But it's an empty image now, it doesn't feel right. Live action Homelander is america post 9/11:paranoid about power, terrified of anything that might be able to hurt him because it's never really happened. unquestionably stronger than anything else that could oppose him, but desperately obsessed with maintaining an image that's far from reality A clone sullies that analogy with something more of a character story imo. I love how the show uses homelander to hive as a hero personification of the America we grew up with. It's very chilling and relatable....

That's why the comic were so good. I could ignore all the "excessive edge" (tho I think a lot of you are just exaggerating by a landslide) Butcher's unapologetic, unredeemable self just drives everything and it's fun to watch. I don't want everything to have a corny revelation and kumbaya moment.

No, he was a piece of shit in every imagineable way. Noir was more crazy in the psycho way, but homelander was still completely fucked in the head.

It’s been a couple of years since I read the comics but iirc there was one issue where it’s suggested that homelander seemed like he actually wanted to help people until the photos came out.

I mean the 9/11 botched rescue was horrid. He blew out the passengers eardrums from telling them to shut up and tore apart the plane trying. None of the 7 has any training. When they fucked up Homelander literally said "well fuck this we're done here".

Even though Noir did most of the absolutely next level morbid things, Homelander was still a MASSIVE piece of shit. He still did the thing he did to Starlight in the beginning, 9/11 still happened, he still kills a bunch of other people, he’s still very much an evil guy but the EXTREME morbid and inhumane acts that I shall not mention were done by Noir

He's the same. There's the flashback where his mask is off and he talks....plus he's black. His face ends up getting fucked up in the attack... fast forward to May lifting his mask a tiny bit when she went to put the nut in his mouth and you can still see the scars from the attack that happened in the flashback

It honestly feels like Ennis didn't actually have a plan for where to take the story and was writing it as it went along.

The creator of the comics has said that he hates comic book heroes. He created The Boys to depict heroes in the worst ways possible.

As someone that has read the comics... I don't think Benny can put them on his channel without serious risk of takedowns. This might be a spoiler, so beware, but basically... There is an ENTIRE FUCKING CHAPTER dedicated to one long orgy with hundreds of superheroes (Also, in the comics, superheroes very numerous and for some reason every single one is deranged). It quickly gets to a point where it's just violent, sexual, bloody and edgy for the sake of being so.

The comics are pretty bad. Especially when compared to the show. They're extremely mean spirited and edgy. Like, 14-year old who tries as hard as he can to be offensive type of edgy. Starlight exists strictly to be... well, "used" by the Seven. Black Noir eats a child just because why not. And if I remember correctly, it ends when Butcher kills all of The Boys and then kills himself.
