Thanks, I’ve had mine about 15 years and it’s just began to give me troubles. Your video gave a great breakdown on how to disassemble and repair my chain saw! Hope you have another video on adjusting the carb as well.

Thank you for the information, very informative. I was going to retire my homelite due to bad performance, Your video brought it alive to finish trimming my gigantic front yard tree.

I thought we had identical machines, but mine is a Homelite "Ranger" 33. Your throttle linkage is on the opposite side from mine. Took me forever to figger out how to slide it onto the bolts. Finally fingered out to push the bottom link thru, past home, then jammed the carb in, then pulled the linkage back to home.

Just came across your video, great job! I have a Homelite Ranger UT-10926 chainsaw. It would not start, decided to replace the carburetor. The one I received for my model did not have a place to hook the linkage from the throttle trigger to the carburetor. Is this something I have to use from the old carburetor and install on the new one? I've installed carburetors on other 2 stroke machines , but never came across this problem. Thanks in advance.

Nice presentation. All you have to do is tighten up the chain and you're ready to go!! I have a couple of old Homelites and I think now I will have a go at their carbs too.

Was given one of these pieces of garbage.Ran nothing but engineered fuel in it.Doing the very same thing.The carbs are garbage.Can not depend on these saws.Great if you need a saw for a one time project.That said great video,new subscriber.

I usually check the metering lever height when I rebuild a carb, one saw I worked on before someone tried to rebuild it themselves and had the gaskets and diaphragms all in the wrong order and the metering lever was bent up at a 45 and wondered why it wouldn't run.

Hi, I am working on the same chainsaw shown in the video I cleaned the carburetor since the chainsaw say for 3 years with old gas and I started it when the carb wasn't cleaned and it idled but bogged down when I gave it has and now that I have cleaned and put back in the carbuerator it will not start up at all, do you know what the red and white things on the carb are, idle control? And is the fuel intake line on the top or the bottem of the carbuerator, thank you- David

Same exact saw I have. Bought off Market place with bad primer bulb. Looking to see where the adjustments are for the carburetor. Idles great but will not go to high speed. Does it need a b ew carb or adjustment high speed?

have same saw as your video. Starts good, idles good but when I start to rev up it doesn't respond well. Revs ups with half throttle but with full throttle it kinda sputters and won't rev high? I checked gas, clean and fresh. Found gas filter in tank not tight on fuel line. Cut 1/4" piece of hose off and reattached filter, good and tight now. THANKS

Excellent Video, very informative. I have the same carburetor. Gentleman I got the saw from told me he had tweaked the high and low settings all over the place. Do you know about what the factory settings would be for those. Cant get the saw to start, believe he had the settings all jacked up.
@Doc-Cole_Trickle-of-Chainsaws
@Doc-Cole_Trickle-of-Chainsaws 3 года назад
Screw both High and Low in all the way but not tight just until they stop. Then factory settings are 1-3/4 to 2 turns counterclockwise. If everything is working correctly it will start and then you can fine tune the High and Low for best performance.

My question is how does mount a 46cc homelite carburator correct since it's mounted at a slant on the chainsaw.?
@stephannazrian
@stephannazrian Год назад
That is not quite perhaps I'm being being precise in my question. How does remount the carburator on a Homelite 46 correctly since it's carbonator is mounted at a slant \ it is strange and I've never come across this before? Has anyone ever even seen one before? Help!

I have the very same saw.Hadn't started it in 4 years.Got it out yesterday and put fresh gas in it and it started 1st pull! Is that the normal slack in the chain at idle?

@robgeach8105

no that's not normal slack. you'd want to tighten it up and put some chain oil in it for safe operation.

Does primer suck fuel thru carb or push fuel thru carb ?
@andybecker2693
@andybecker2693 4 года назад
Pushed through carb and back to tank. It’s not a primer bulb but actually a purge bulb that pushes air out of the system for easier starts. Some lawn mowers and snowblowers do actually have a primer bulb that squirts gas into the throat of the carb. One way to tell the difference between the two is a primer bulb never has a choke with it but a purge bulb does.

Takes about 2 minutes to remove the chain linkage from the handle and then it's completely out of your way. There are three screws on the side of the handle, once u take the side off the linkage just pops right up and out. Way too annoying working on the carb with the handle in your way.
@richfreireich4528

Mine barely has enough power, even when brand new, to get thru a rotten 2x4, that's if you can keep the worthless pot metal safety chain on without slipping off the bar, anything bigger than 4 inches in diameter can be cut faster with a sharp Swedish saw, do they make a oregon bar and chain combo for this saw that doesn't actually cost more than the powerhead itself, mines sitting in its case with a petrified primer bulb steeping in bar oil just keep her around cause I hate throwing anything away,my poulans though crappy run circles around this saw, and you don't have to pull and use every choice word in the vocabulary!!! As is when she does run and start she has about as much power as a hot popcorn fart!! Even with tuning!!

Bayport78 I used a pro Stihl and a 48" pro Stihl. Couldn't start it, the starter coil is too hard. Got a Husqvarna ranch 460. Cut down a tree over 30" diameter 80 ft tall without problem. Started much easier than Stihl. Should get a Husqvarna 545 20". This saw is so good to handle and good performance.

+Bayport78 I just gave a stihl 16 inch bar to the junk man I t was so hard to pull the starter rope . I bought a small 14 inch bar Homelite it is easy to start and will cut anything I need to cut.
@wpahk4065
@wpahk4065 9 лет назад
Homelite Ranch was good. I like Husqvarna 545. Stihl is hard to pull start. Try to pull start a Stihl 48" bar chainsaw. It is impossible to start it for normal size people.
