So I seem to get some conflicting information regarding these ultrasonic modules.... Some shops say they run on AC while it seems you are running them fine on DC, Now I curious are those retailers just full of it, just to sell me their own power supply or are there actually AC and DC units out there...

Hello mate - These run off of DC but from an AC transformer. If you had a DC power supply like a 24v battery, these would run off of that, otherwise, to run them from a mains you need a transformer in the form of a single plug or a big one like the one I made! Simply put they do run off DC but you need to convert your AC into DC to use them. You've been Thunderstruck. Hope that clears bit up for you! Cheers!
