i really like this mans style of baking. instead of all those fancy tutorials with expensive cooking ware and ingredients, he's straight to the point and uses every day household items! thank you so much, my bread came out wonderfully :-)
I was looking for videos about baking breads for beginners and this is what ive got, a simple instruction, well demonstrated, easy to follow! I will definitely starting to bake my own bread soonest! But, will gather first all the materials and ingredients haha..! Thank u so much!
Okay I am like 15 and I have never baked ANYTHING in my life and was eager to bake bread. You're recipe was so simple and to the point. I actually used whole wheat flour instead of bread flour to make it healthier and it was soooo yummy. And mom and dad were shocked that the bread was actually bread! 😅😂 They were expecting some sort of brick when they saw me in the kitchen 😂😂😂 Thank You so much for this recipe ❤❤
Clear, concise instructions with no flashy camera work and no loud music. Loved it. I've now got the ingredients (wholemeal flour) and can't wait to get started.
Now my husband dont have to phone for instructions my son also.son phones me during our holidays asking how many yeast so now son Here is a master looks delicious. THANKS
I trust this no animated, no fancy cookware, no zoom zoom sound through out the entire cooking video. This is a true tutorial and we all know we can make same bread by following these steps. Awesome work Sir, going to try this in this week at home.
I definitely can .... Thanks much lay for sharing this recipe... I’m baking crusty bread rolls for dinner tonight to go with you hotpot BUT I’m definitely going to try this soft loaf recipe tomorrow.... Many thanks for your kindness and sharing 💖💖💖🌸 have a blessed day xoxo
I can't imagine being a grown adult and having so little going for me in life that I try to put down a 14-year-old for actually doing something with their life and not deciding to settle for being an overgrowing baby their entire life @@Elgatos_revenge It's not a woman's job to take care of a grown man, and he can learn to bake if he wants to. He's contributing more to life than you certainly are with this comment or that mindset.
@@Elgatos_revenge at 14 it’s good he’s learning how to cook. Especially making bread from scratch. why do y’all always think kids have to grow up so fast leave him alone.
When I was young we still had local bakers. I remember waiting for our baker to phone to say the cobs (rolls) or loaves were ready. I would race over to get them fresh out of the oven, as soon as I brought them back to my grandparents' house, I would cut a crust some 3 " thick and cover it in a thick layer of butter. The taste of that butter,, melting into a fresh, hot loaf was fantastic. I will never forget it. Those loaves remind me of the ones our baker baked. I dread to think of the work that went into it all, we just took it all for granted. Boy, I wish he was still there today. Thanks, bread is such a special treat.
@@DeepSouthTexas I am glad that you replied as I am sure that every country's temperature and regional altitude plays a part in that measurement. Far better to put it as you did as opposed to giving the actual temperature that you used, which may not work for others.
@@taggard1210 Bread would be cold by the time I got back. ; ) Seriously. where you have local bakeries, please support them - we are losing more and more here - post offices, banks went and during this past year, the cafes, pubs, theatres etc have been shut. How fragile it all is. I feel really sorry for those who are alone and at home - it will have been the hardest for them.
I have been making bread since I was 6 yrs old. Will be 76 this yr. This is a simple, tasty bread. For holidays, I don't make loaves, I grab a bunch of dough, roll it into balls, bake in round cake layer pans or deep dish pie pans. You can also use rectangle pans. Yummy rolls for dinner!!
@@tangie_delusions6771 definitely make it! I followed exactly what Larry did step-by-step and ended up with such a wonderful loaf! It was unbelievably beautiful

I’ve been wanting to make bread for a while now, but I always get intimidated when looking for recipes and guides…until I saw this one. Happy to say I’m currently making my first loaf! Thank you!!
Everything you said, except I'll hv to let y'all know how well mine turns out, but I'm just now coming across the right video for me, clear and simple instructions finally.🙏🏽💯😅❤
Since my days in highschool, I had always used your recipe! My family is obsessed whenever I bake this. Actually, one of the first breads I made was your recipe and is the reason why I like baking now! Now i’m in college in my first year and I’ll never ever forget your video💗💗💗
This guy has 3 Million views, and STILL hearts almost every comment. This looks delicious and is so easy to make. Will be making this soon! You need more subscribers. - Lamb
I made this bread with my boyfriend and it is the first bread we’ve ever made! The slices are very uniform and it’s a really easy recipe, a little time consuming but it’s so worth it the flavor is amazing. You need to have about three hours to do it and you aren’t working on it for three hours you’re only really working for like a half an hour total so it’s not too bad. Thanks for teaching me how to make bread 😊
Made this recipe today and cut the ingredient portions in half to make just one loaf since it's just me and my lady. It was AMAZING. The outside is crispy and we lathered it with butter like you did. Thank you so much, sir.
Hi Larry, just wanted to let you know that I tried making bread lots of times and never got it right, until I found this video and I used your recipe and directions to make my first successful bread loaf yesterday ... It looked amazing and tasted amazing . Much love and respect sir !!!
• шаfflеZ • right on.... in the old days they used old catalogs or magazines... with this virus the last thing I'm worried about is tp .... but people are nuts.... cheers
Thanks. Were you able to wait until it cooled to cut into it? Hard to do. Actually, impossible in my house unless I am making a video and guarding the bread, lol. 🤠
I broke down and bought the correct type of flour...I was just being stubborn...and followed your recipe (I divided it in 1/2) and had my very first SUCCESSFUL loaf of white bread ever!!! Thank you.
Made this again today. Recipe is so forgiving. Turned out perfect. Soft bread texture, slightly crunchy crust. I did spread a little melted butter over the top. Boyfriend thinks I'm magical. 😍
@@osekerenfinda641 try using warm water for the yeast to dissolve properly and give it another try!! Enjoy! I also had a flop and I think that is the solution.
Yippy Kayak Other Buckets my mom made bread and buns every Saturday and there were 7 of us in the family she had a hand crank bread maker that we screwed to an old wooden kitchen chair. She had the recipe in her head and it was never replicated even tho my brother has the bread maker. What a waste!
I’m a 60 year old man, never made bread in my life. Followed your directions exactly, turned out perfect and delicious! I was surprised at how long it took but I really enjoyed it. Thank you.
I just made this bread tonight and it turned out amazing!! This was my very first time making bread and I’m so happy with the result! Pretty simple and tastes delicious😍👏🏽
My 14 year old daughter loves to cook and bake so we decided to start baking bread instead of buying from grocery stores. This is so simple and easy for her to do. Thanks for sharing this video.
Any man that bakes 2 loaves of bread. While wearing a Cowboy hat. Has my vote. It looks amazing. Now, all I need is some bread flour. I am trying this for a future Tea Party. Using this bread recipe for sandwiches. TY so much. I am subscribing to your channel. A great Tutorial.
I've tried this recipe so many times and I absolutely LOVE it, its so fun and simple and I love the way this guy gets to the point and doesn't try to be unnecessarily fancy.

Deep South Texas I wish I can say It’s surprising but unfortunately when it comes to RU-vid and comments everyone seems to have a doctorate on the content they are commenting on. LOL Thanks for sharing your recipe
@@DeepSouthTexas Agree, sugar is not necessary, and contrary to what people are saying about flouring the board. Once you have all your ingredients together, the last thing you want to do, unless absolutely necessary, is to add more flour. The more you add the dryer it gets. Yuk. The only thing I dont do, is mix my fats. If I put oil in, then I put oil on such as wiping the bowl. I also make sure before I fold or roll my dough to go into the pan, is to make sure I brush off any extra flour so the dough will stick to itself and not separate as it bakes. Beautiful loaves by the way.
I'll be saying to my grandchildren that I was taught how to bake bread by a nice Texan man via RU-vid . The good that came out of lockdowns. Great food. :--) and new skills. Thank you sir.
"Homely" (Merriam-Webster dictionary) :Definition of homely 1: suggestive or characteristic of a place of residence or home 2: being something familiar with which a person is comfortable and at ease : comfortable and familiar like home satisfy themselves with houses, furniture, books and clothes that were worn and homely and friendly to the touch 3a: free from affectation : unaffectedly natural : SIMPLE plain, homely prose b: not elaborate or complex homely virtues 4: plain or unattractive in appearance a homely face he's a bit homely I always use the second and third definitions of the word. In fact, the 4th might be old-fashioned and no longer in vogue. Thank you Sir!
I've tried so many bread recipes and they never rise. Everyone says I didn't have the right temp water. But this recipe worked with room temp water! It was very straight forward. Very easy to follow the instructions were amazing! Whole house smells like a bakery! And my family loved the bread! Adding this to me and my daughters cook book!
Stuck at home due to a 14 day mandatory quarantine, I was looking for a bread recipie. I followed yours and now we have 2 loaves of bread. Only my 3rd attempt ever at making bread and I am very pleased with the results. You made it so simple, there was no chance of going wrong. Thank you very much.
@@DeepSouthTexas Amazing yet simple recipe 👌 one question though.. I make this bread so often that I only have enough flour for one loaf right now.. could you please tell me what the recipe measurements would be for just one loaf? I'm really bad at math lol..
@@hollyirwin678 simply halving, the recipe measurements would be: 3 and a half cups flour 1 and a half cups water 1 tblsp yeast 1 and a half tsp salt 1 tblsp oil Hope you're loaf turns out well!
Omgoodness! Both loaves of bread 🍞 came out perfect and delicious! Where have you been all my life?! lol You adorable Colonel Sanders! I'm 71 and I used a bread machine or purchased our bread. I remember Mama Ryan, God rest her dear soul," used to make bread like this in the 1950s and so on. She was born 1908. But the real baker was my dear maternal grandmother, Nora Fredericks-Blakney, born October 5th, 1889. You brought back many good memories and it was such fun kneading that dough! I thoroughly enjoyed your video and the chance to make bread for the first time without using the bread machine! It felt like olde times. I thank-ya kindly, bless your sweet ❤️ heart. We used to have acres of land in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina near Maggie Valley in Haywood County. Most of our family came from the country. Thank you again.
I have all my great-grandmother's recipes and this one is the same as hers for sandwich bread. We love it!!! We eat ours hot with homemade honey butter. ..ratio is about 1 T honey to 3 butter... Since we are all home for Corona quarantine I might as well make a few loaves......Can't find any bread here in rural Mississippi.....everyone panicked and raided Walmart and our local grocery stores. I got my old booty outside and planted a huge garden this year. I'm going to can all I grow so the neighborhood can have some extra food stores. The way this is heading you never can be too careful. Our Governor said to stay indoors maybe til August so.... Might better learn how to make toilet paper soon...LOL Sighhhhh. Fun times....One good thing in all of this is we are all home together....Between high school and college and work we rarely ever are so, I'll take this one positive thing. At least we have each other. Stay safe and think of what you might do for the future. I say it is always better to overdo than to be unprepared. I wish all of you the best and stay safe.
I’m using this recipe for now a year and I didn’t know how to make a bread before. It comes out excellent every time. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us 😁
When i look him in his eyes, I see kindness, sweetness. Also, thanks for this tutorial though? It's pretty early for me to cook or bake, but i'm interested.
Sir, I'm in tears right now. You remind me of my wonderful French professor. He talks exactly like you do! The resemblance....I'm just teary eyed. Thank you for this recipe! I love your hat and it suits you so well! 🥰❤️
My husband and I used to make bread all the time. When we had some leftover bread dough, we would get out our deep fryer and fry pieces of dough, drain them on paper towels, and spread them with jam while still hot. So delicious! The kids loved it.
I have been following BakeWithJack and watching your video reinforces his tutorial for me. My husband no longer wants to buy bread, so extra work for me Thanks, Larry and Jack!
Out of all I could find, your the only person who -put the ingredients in amounts like cups and tablespoons instead of weight -used a proper bread pan instead of a cast iron skillet -said if it was in Fahrenheit or Celsius -didnt make the 'normal' bread with a starter (like the one used in sourdough) -and was all around a nice sounding guy :) Thank you so much, your my favorite cowboy! Have you every tried making butter?
There is a difference in meaning between YOUR and YOU ARE. Buy a dictionary and undertake an extensive reading course so you can learn the difference. Students age 7 in my English classes know the difference but you do not. Why is that?
Thanks for the video, with the shortage of bread and other supplies that stores in my area are currently experiencing videos like this will definitely come in handy.
I have seen an increase in views the last few days on this video. The increase is coming from RU-vid search, not Suggested videos. It seems more people are considering and searching for how to make their own bread now. Praying that this situation is resolved soon for all of us. 🤠
@@nancylaughlin5101 yes. Just Google bread made with all purpose flour. My mom and grandma used to and they would put it on the car dash so it will rise as it is the warmest area.

I made these yesterday. I had to guard them when they came out of the oven! lol (I have 3 kids). Once it was ready to slice, it was gone within 15 minutes. The other one probably won't make it through the morning. Terrific video. Thanks a million. 😊
I made this bread yesterday and it turned out AMAZING! The tutorial was great. I was able to follow each step along the way and I’m so happy with how my loaves turned out. I’ve made bread before but it turned out hard as rocks. This bread is fluffy, light, and delicious! Thank you!

I've made this bread from this recipe dozens of times , it's amazing and everyone loves it! I brush the whole loaf with butter as soon as it is out of the pan. Yummy!
I never tried to make bread at home before, but at this coronavirus time, I think I better start to learn, and this video is perfect for me. Thank you. I need buy more flour lol
I have bought some ingredients to bake my own Brötchen. Im from Germany and these bread rolls are a daily item on our menu. Still got some part cooked ones so I’m planning on making my own once they’ve gone. This video has helped because it’s not often I bake bread because bread rolls are just €3 for 10 of them. His video will flag my memory that’s for sure but also we use egg whites in our rolls so il be using egg whites also. I just wonder if he warmed the water up to help the yeast because he didn’t mention this in the video.
Finding more flour might be harder than you think I work at a grocery store and have found that any flour we get in that day in the morning is gone by the afternoon, if not some times even sooner. Some flour brands are even shortened by the supplier because of covid 19, so sometimes we order the product but it just never shows up .
Thank you so much for this recipe. My 9 years-old son, who loves baking, wanted to bake bread & we found your recipe a week ago. He has baked his "child-version bread" 3 times since then.
@@DeepSouthTexas Although my bread turns out delicious every time with your recipe my dough does not hardly even rise. Any suggestions? I use 2 packs Fleischmann's Active dry yeast. Thanks, Russ

to everyone cringing at the fact he didn’t flour his hands or the cutting board and saying it’s what you have to do... clearly it came out completely fine and exactly how he or anyone could want it. also you don’t need to flour the cutting board! if you kneed enough it stops sticking 🤦🏻♂️ you can but it’s not a necessity.
