This recipe for homemade cream cheese is made from a plain yogurt base called labneh. It's a fresh cheese found in Lebanese cuisine. It's also found in Syrian, Palestinian, Greek and Turkish cuisine.
I find it very similar to our cream cheese.
It's very easy to make. It requires just one ingredient: plain yogurt.
Simply leave the yogurt to drain for 6 to 24 hours, depending on the desired consistency.
