we make peanut butter filed coconut eggs. Grate a fresh coconut, mix with powdered sugar and roll out. Spread with peanut butter and roll into a log, then slice. Form the slices into little eggs and dip into chocolate. The mix of peanut butter and coconut is just incredible
Lucky. My store has been sold out of almost all pb for 3 weeks now. Except for the all natural type. I did snag the last container of whipped JIF and the tiniest container of generic pb the last trip.
@Henlo Happily, I went to the store for something else, and they had about a half shelf of JIF back in stock, so I got a jar. The kid is happy about that.
@@abbeyxx9151 I shop at Kroger. A coworker shops at one across town. Hers had salad greens and pb two weeks ago, but no potatoes or milk. Mine had potatoes and milk, but no pb or salad greens. Neither has toilet paper, of course.

If you put the eggs on a cooling rack with a parchment covered sheet pan underneath you can pour the chocolate over them. The parchment collects the chocolate so it can be used to re-melt. Chill eggs one more time and then dip each egg bottom in re-melted chocolate to cover completely. Saves time, aggregation and way less mess.
Not really unless your chocolate has different properties than mine, but hey, maybe you have magic chocolate that drips down, under and then back up...who am I to question you or your chocolate. Or...maybe you should try it both ways and decided for yourself which method is A) easier and B) less messy. The best part of cooking afterall is the trial and error and making up the rules as you go along. Relax girl and take a breath every now and then and stop being so serious. WOW!
@@andrear1751 as was I. At least my comment added value. You should try it sometime instead of just nit picking people. I will no longer engage in your pettiness.
Hi Mr. John, I must say that you are excellent at what you do! Your contents are always perfect and your personality is just beautiful. It's nice to see you always having fun while baking! May God bless you and your family. ❤ Lisa ❤
If you like peanut butter on toast, try peanut butter and condensed milk. This is one of the most common and popular sweets here in Hong Kong. Or butter and condensed milk, another combo that everyone here knows and loves.
When I measure peanut butter, I always line my measuring cup with plastic wrap. It's easier to get all the peanut butter out and clean-up is a lot easier, especially if there are things that need to be hand washed.
Ive heard spraying a nonstick pam or what ever in your measuring cup makes it easier to get sticky stuff out...peanut butter, honey, molasses etc. Might make yr quantities more accurate too.
Both comments are EXCELLENT. One of my favorite cookies is a peanut butter cookie and getting all the peanut butter back out of the measuring cup has always been a pain.
Toast with peanut butter and butter...my husband laughs at me but it is still one of my favorite treats that I eat on special occasions. For example: it’s Monday. 😁
My father loved toast with peanut butter in the morning. My Mom used to make her own jams and jellies and when she stopped my Dad switched to JIF. I made the switch to get away from sugar and I use " natural " peanut butter. My Mom always would joke about my Dad's habit, and I would always have to remind her that I had the same habit (her early Alzheimer's apparently made her forget that I did the same thing).
@Real Me but if you are allergic, it might be a suitable compromise.. you could add the tiniest bit of almond extract to boost flavor a bit.. even a little vanilla would boost the flavor of the interior.. : )
For all of my fellow allergy people replace the peanut butter with cream cheese. You can add extra stuff to them like coconut and if you just aren’t a huge peanut butter taste but you like it in small doses add some. I hate cream cheese but my grandmother makes these every year at Easter and they are delicious :)
🤦♀️ People still joke about this? At least write Type 2 diabetes. I hate how everyone jokes with this while they dont even know what diabetes really is. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease unlike Type 2, and a lot of people just mix the types up. If you want to be funny, talk about something that you actually know what it exactly is.
my grandma and i love making your recipes together! i wish i could make these with her, but i’m quarantined, but that won’t stop me making these by myself!!!
Is anyone else watching this thinking, I don’t have the patience to roll ALL those balls, then shape them all into eggs 😳😳😳 mine would turn into buckeyes 🤷🏻♀️😏
You sir, are a mind reader. I honestly picked out a recipe for these yesterday, and it’s been very helpful watching you make them. I hope mine come out ok because I only have homemade peanut butter in the house 🤞🏻.
You totally just saved our Easter. I have three ingredients at home and can make a huge batch to makeup for not being able to go out and buy Easter goodies 😍
IT IS THE BUSINESS!! Toast with butter and Peanut Butter! It’s THE SHIT! Lol.. I still eat it from time to time. And I’m 37! Haahaa.. but my Mom Always Went All Out for Easter too. She also would make the Peanut butter and Coconut Eggs. She use to make them and Give them out. But she’d make them Really Big! Miss those days. Her and my Granma is where I got My Love of Baking From. They are Great Bakers. She makes Homemade Bread, Rolls, Parkerhouse Rolls, pies you name it. She even Taught me how to make Cream Puffs or Profiterole‘s

Kinda bummed when you said not to use all natural peanut butter. I can understand your reasoning, but I am allergic to palm, coconut, cottonseed and soybean oils. I was hoping for a recipe I could make myself so I can have something homemade that approximates a product I'm allergic to.....
I made these and used all natural smooth peanut butter and just give it a good mix first and came out really nice as don't like to use anything with palm oil in it 😀

I'm really bored in this quarantine, and I'm imumo compromised so I let's just say I've been baking a lot of your recipes, so far: Éclairs, brownies (amazing), vannila cupcakes and what next? Haha my family ain't complaining they get lots of sweet treats
im from the caribbean and im obsessed with your recipes. my 6yr old and i are gonna make hot cross buns and ur easter cupcakes (chicks) next weekend!!! excited cant wait!
My goodness this looks heavenly. I'm a peanut butter addict and this is just what I (but shouldn't..) need. Also I'm dying for a sticky toffee pudding recipe from you!

I think your metric figures are a bit off. For the vanilla you note to put in 1tsp, and then you say (15mL). That would be far more than 1tsp. Recipe looks spectacular, though!
Through trial and error...I learned you can use small amounts of cornstarch to replace icing sugar (powdered or confectioners sugar) if you don't want it too sweet. Like if the recipe says 2 cups of sugar use 1.5 of sugar and 1/2 cup of cornstarch. You have to play with it...
There IS a natural peanut butter brand that is just as creamy as the processed kind, it's called Crazy Richard's. It is also spreadable right from the fridge. In fact, at room temp, you can actually pour it. And it is unsalted, in fact it only has 1 ingredient; peanuts. It's all I will use, since it has no hydrogenated oils or salt in it. I'm a heart patient, and those I DON'T need. But since it has more oil than other peanut butters (even the natural kinds) you may need to use a bit more sugar to get the same consistency.
Umm....I seriously do not understand how John is so slim when his fav snack is toast with butter and peanut butter on top and regularly makes fudge, eclairs and what not. What is the secret? I put on weight just smelling these...
These look amazing and delicious. Going to have to make these. Thanks for sharing. Always look forward to seeing your videos. Love your channel! You have even inspired me to start my own channel on my recipes to share please check it out 🙂

I have been making my own for years. Regular reese's make me have heart burn. But I mahe the fudge and coat it in Hershey symphony chocolate and no heart burn. But my son in laws stepdad steals a ton of it.
I am so incredibly glad I found your channel. You make cooking fun, entertaining, delicious, and most importantly, you make me want to learn to cook more things. Watching you is like watching a friend showing you how to make something in their kitchen. Thank you.
I like the idea of this but I would not add water to your peanut butter, I would add vanilla extract instead, it will add more flavor and give you the texture you want😉
John, you're amazing and I hate to even say this, but you're not making a real PB cup unless you add Graham Cracker crumbs to the PB mix along with the PB and sugar. It gets the texture right, and it's a noticeable difference.
Hm...is that what reeses does to get that slightly grainy texture? I'll have to keep your tip in mind if I give in and make these at some point. I've never liked non-reeses PB/Choc cups and things as much due to texture.
@@lauramoore3981 here's my ratio. 2 cups PB, 2 cups powdered sugar, and 2 cups Graham cracker crumbs. That a large batch, you can cut everything in half.. I also use 24oz of milk chocolate with a 1/3 cup of PB for the shell. Mixing PB into the shell makes it much more authentic
I'm jealous John!! I had to share a Easter Basket with my little sister and she left me those different color eggs that were straight sugar on the inside. LoL I absolutely hated those!! Hate's a strong word but when we're talking about candy I'm going to use it!! LoL Love this recipe! I'm going to make it even if we're quarantined. I'll hunt them myself!! 😂

I love anything with peanut butter! Such a great idea, thank you! Please may I ask if you could a cake with a "painting" on the icing. I see people use alcohol to mix lustre dust and food colouring to paint on cakes but as someone who does not consume alcohol im looking for some alternatives that won't affect the taste too much. I've heard lemon extract works but I'm worried it will make the cake taste like lemon! Any advice on this would be so helpful! Thanks again for an amazing video!
This looks SO GOOD, I love everything you make 😍 I live in India , and it’s impossible to find unsalted butter anywhere around where I live , especially now. If it’s inevitable that I have to use salted butter , will it be way too salty or a bearable amount? Also is there anything I could do, add/reduce to offset the saltiness? Thank you ! Much love and hope you and your family are safe
You can use salted butter and it will be fine. There isn't enough salt in salted butter to make these inedible. I've pretty much never used unsalted butter in recipes even when it calls for it and it has never been a problem. Most cooks/bakers call for unsalted butter in their recipes so they can control the amount of salt added, not because they don't want the salt in the recipe at all.
