(someone please make this thread just people singing the magic school theme but with homestuck lyrics, im too uncreative to think of anything good so please yall) Edit: *I'm still waiting*
Congrats, Taz. This is gonna be a ride. It also occured to me that we're in a time when things that have ended are just gonna keep going (i.e. Adventure Time, Steven Universe Future, and unsurprisingly Homestuck.) EDIT: Happy 10/25
Dude. Look. I love your content, I really do. I was happy that you were involved with Homestuck^2. But, if you're in the writing team... You have a LOT of explaining to do.
Alright, now I will be employing MAXIMUM SPEED at finishing Homestuck and then reading the epilogues so I can have a chance at understanding what the heck happened in the epilogues, this looks really interesting! :D
I'm rereading homestuck, replaying friendsim, getting and playing pesterquest, and reading the epilouges. I feel like I am forgetting something- oh yeah and I gotta DM my Tablestuck game I am so happy right now
Welp I've finished Homestuck a while ago but I really don't want to read the Epilogues and apparently Homestuck^2 takes place after them so... *what do I do*
Me: *Crawls out of the homestuck fandom and into the Undertale fandom* Hussie: *Gently whispers* Homestuck 2 Me: ...I see *Yeets self back into the void*
CONGRATULATIONS MAN! I've been a follower of your chanel since I started getting into Homestuck, I believe it was around a year before the Hiveswap hype began, and honestly, I would have never imagined that you would officially join the creative team behind Homestuck. This is all so surreal...
so excited to see how this story plays out especially with all the great talent behind it!! whats been released so far is already way past amazing!!?!?!?!
Are little philosopher is growing up(snort). )=] it time to spead it around. Tell ever and spread the news. Tell animators and artist, tell writers and dreamers. Tell the world HOMESTUCK IS BACK! Its time, lets tell them about homestuck!
if you will eventually get to epilogues, please remember about this page existing. www.homestuck.com/story/8006 i was really stunned because I found it while searching for Calliope's words for Jade about space being lonely in Pesterquest discussion and here is the page where Davepeta is literally Hi let's talk about "ultimate selves", "understanding heart is all about the nuances of a distributed self" and stuff and I'm like "It was already here. It always was. How could I be so blind."
*sets canon on fire with a dollar store lighter* *big letters form above the burn spot spelling out 'CANON NOW FIRE RESISTANT* *a can of Homestuck2, fire-resistant spray rolls out from behind the curtain* *i proceed to go ape shit*
I saw you in credits before I saw this video... You know my friends actually made a joke about Hussie forgetting his own aspects so he had to consult you
I am so stoked right now. One thing I noticed (and further extrapolated upon in my headcanon) is that some characters in Homestuck literally *emulate* other aspects that they encounter. John emulates Jade's ability to teleport, albeit with his own aspect flavoring and forcing limitation upon the act. Roxy (having experienced being zapped and seeing John dissipate before her own eyes) emulates this to get around prior to [S] Collide. I would love to see *"Aspect Emulation"* become a concept that is explored. Extension: Take a Maid of Time and a Mage of Light (my most malleable example) and task them to heal wounds in the middle of a battle because their Life player is absent. With a certain mental approach the Maid of Time could focus the closure of wounds on another's body while the Mage of Light can emulate the Life aspect almost directly, much like Aranea did and does. I would also surmise that if the need arose, Karkat would be capable of- at personal risk- healing his allies emulating more supportive Life players and invigorating them with the now fused blood.
This is not aspect emulation, this is the flexibility of the aspect itself, and the relation between your understanding of the aspect, and the things you can do with it. Also, Sylphs and Maids are creation classes, they don't even need Life heal. A lot of Life classes actually would not have the ability to heal. And a Mage of Light would probably be unable to heal directly with his powers, although he would know the actions he must make to heal.
@@lordbuss I suppose that is one way to look at it. Edit: I think Calliope mentioned to Jade that the aspects in the furthest ring were intertwined, did she not?
@@puddel9079 She did. And the aspects are intertwined in general. Every one has Heart, and Mind, and knowledge(Light), and Hope, and everything. But a hero can directly control only one aspect. Although there is the inversion theory, about how players can (partially) change their aspect.
@@lordbuss Yes, the players *would* have exclusively direct control over a single aspect, hence the emulation. As for the inversion theory, I plead ignorance.
Wether it’s good or bad homestuck^2 may, in my opinion may have a similar impact on the homestuck fandom as age of sigmar did on the warhammer fantasy fandom. Possibly a very, very divisive continuation.
i'll be honest. i'm seriously not stoked about homestuck^2. the epilogues put such a bitter, sour taste in my mouth. everything about the epilogues and homestuck^2 feels like insults to the fans and just spewing out new content instead of genuine cultivations of the characters we've come to know and love. i loved the ending of act 7. i loved the snapchat credits. i loved the open ending and i much prefer it to whatever this is and whatever is happening to dirk strider. i wish you and the team good luck and well wishes with working on it, but the route the homestuck canon is taking here is personally just not for me. it's a shame since i've been entrenched in this shit since 2011 so it's not like i can't just NOT care. but hopefully others get enjoyment out of it where i cannot.
I think that's mostly fair and resonable, for what its worth. I will say that nothing about HS2 is intended to insult anybody, and that me and the others are all really excited to share stuff we think is cool and exciting and interesting all the time. But it's still understandable you could come away feeling that way, and we also don't want anyone to feel beholden to following this story along if they don't feel it resonates with them. Thanks a lot for wishing us luck, we're definitely having a blast! And I hope you continue enjoying HS content however you're able, or just enjoying your interests wherever they take you from here. It really is my biggest priority that wherever possible, people choose to prioritize their own emotional health and feelings. No need to engage with content that doesn't make you happy when theres so much other stuff to see, you know? Have a blast! And wherever you go, keep rising~
@@optimisticDuelist thank you! i seriously respect your work. your videos are a lot of fun, and i found your channel after reading your dirk essays on medium, which i fell in love with. if you still plan on making them, im especially excited about the character videos regarding homestuck classic, because the way you did jake's was excellent!
@@founddeadinmiami I'm working on recording Rose's today, yeah. Those are definitely still happening, the epilogues gave me a lot of stuff to think about, unpack, and organize in my head before I could talk about the characters. Threw me off for a while, but I'll always be interested.
Now I have a canon story that I can wait for to update while waiting for vast error to update! Woo! Also: 25/10 is a homestuck day now! Can't wait to celebrate that next year!
I just hope it doesn't focus on its meta narrative too much. Reading the first few people it felt like that's all it talks about. That should be a part of it, but not the entire story.
optimistic Duelist How long a read is it? Cause my dyslexic ass has a lot of trouble reading a lot of stuff and I only got through the epilogue cause of your live stream.
