This is a fun little build that I did for my friend, to help him out when he was in the hospital, he painted it, I did a lot of the other work. We trailered he bikes to a photo shoot, left some of he keys at home (didn't need them really) so hearing it is a no go, sure I'll get some heat for that from you guys, anyway, enjoy what's there I guess.... Thanks for your view

Looks cool 😎. I ride a 2008 Honda Rebel 250 and have so much fun on it. It's my first bike tho so I don't have much to compare it to. Someday I'll upgrade but as long as I'm having fun with it, I'm keeping it.

I'm 19 have an 85 Rebel and you are completely right about them being bulletproof. My bike was pretty bad when i started working on it but the engine has never given me issues only thing i've had to fix is normal maintenance. Even with open headers my bike performs really well and sounds better than before lol. but i love your bike and wish mine looked similar.

@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 6 лет назад
I got to be honest, I'd hate to waste your money on an Idea, Rebels are amazing bikes, incredibly reliable and a great starter bike for sure, but I think you'd be best suited on a 600 or more for your size. I'm 6' and 180 and I look a little big on a 250 for sure (I still ride it here and there), I think after you learn the controls you might be hungry for a little more power to pull away from cars if you need to, but in a parking lot I teach everyone how to ride on a 250 first. Most people I teach wind up going after a 600 or bigger once they learn the controls, I have a brother in law who has been riding a 250 for a long time, suits him just fine for his size 5'7 5'8?? So to give you my honest opinion, for the sake of saving you money and time I'd move straight into a 600 or higher, but if money and time isn't a worry for you right now, yeah, get that bike you like. You'll figure out later what to do after you get the controls down:) hope this helps in your decision, thanks for you comment:)

I am trying to.bob my 250. I need a little advice on taking of the front and rear fenders. also I'm trying to add a sissy bar and that frisco tank you have on some of your bikes here.. is there anyway you could Pont me in the right direction? thanks.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
jojo - Thanks for the comment, the fenders are relatively easy to take off, "blue collar bobbers" makes a kit for a rear fender,from there you could add a sissy bar to your discretion as well, the kits are a little pricey, but I have a friend who used one from blue collar and has had good results with it. repositioning the seat can be a bit of a chore in the whole ordeal, but it can be done;) The electronics you will probably have to cut to make the process easier (rear fender) cut them around 4-5 inches out from the end source, by which I mean 4-5 inches out from the tail light or stock blinkers /plate light, this will give you plenty to work with on the bike side and give you some extra wiring on the components side, that way you'll have some wire to work with if you re-use them or sell them to some one else. Make sure to label what wire goes where( I always just use a simple masking tape and write on the tape *right blinker* *stop* *L. Plate* so you don't get them confused, its not that you couldn't hook a light tester up to them, but it makes it that much easier;) "SOME!" After market blinkers ground them selves so you'll typically have a wire ("color of wire" could be anything depending who or what has worked on any bike out there, but usually green or blue, but don't take my word for it, you'll have to test in that situation) left over... I haven't installed a frisco on a rebel, I'm sure it would be it would be a little more friendly towards a Rebel than a shadow, rebels have top tubes as opposed to the shadow spirit which consists of a square bar. Most things can be accomplished with a bit of thinking a trial or two... Hope this all helps;)

@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 5 лет назад
Just Google pod filter, there's about a billion of them online, just take a set of calipers and measure your intake and get a pod filter slightly smaller so you can stretch it over your intake... hope that helps some.

@shaneflaugher3565
@shaneflaugher3565 3 года назад
@@bannanapancake aftermarket...
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 3 года назад
@@shaneflaugher3565 - Most of the after market tanks that ARENT OEM won’t fit perfectly for a Honda 250, you sort of going to have to get them to fit with some fabrication. The one on this bike is a 3 gal. One off of eBay with some fabrication. A lot of people will stick with the Honda tank that it came with, they don’t have a bad look to them and they fit. A peanut tank would look great on a 250. Check out some of my other videos for installation IDEAS (only) on a process on how it “could” work for a 250. Hope this helps some

im working on a 250 rebel now..getting a lot of grey smoke and the valves sound like a sowing machine which i couldnt hear before. any ideas whats up? awsome little rebel by the way
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
jpegster64 - whoa, definitely not supposed to be doing those things, smoke usually means coolant OR oil is getting into the wrong places. it's hard to tell without being there, but it could be bad piston rings? Head gasket? The fact is sounds like a sewing machine might have something to do with oil not getting to the cam shaft properly? Valves are probably out of adjustment? There's a number of things it could possibly be in your case. Best thing to do (having it sound so bad), is to have someone look at it for you, timing and specifications can be a bit tricky if you've never done it before, sorry I couldn't help more... hope it works out;)
