I really love how the car tells you what moves it’s doing for the autopark. I’m personally scared to test out Tesla autopark sometimes because I’m afraid the car will do something dumb, but knowing what it’s about to do before it makes the manoeuvre is very nice to see.

Thank you, you are the first person to mention that Tesla will only self park between 2 cars. I have driven around many parking lots trying to get the "P" to come up on my screen and even made a service appointment because the self parking didn't seem to be working. I even told the service dept. that it didn't work and no one said that it will only find a parking spot between 2 cars. Even the video doesn't say that. This is with my new Model Y. Tesla makes a great car but their communication, both website and talking to people is terrible. Thanks again for the great videos. I was supposed to be in Sweden last month, maybe next year.

A great city car it is, great turning radius, good visibility when backing up and auto park. As a city car, or a car number 2 for short trips, this car seems close to perfect

Pretty cool that it can identify any parking sport, my car will only auto-park between 2 cars.

Man, it looks so cool and the interior/features are awesome! I just wish the range didn't suck. I know it's a city car, but a long range variant with maybe a 50kw battery would be greatly appreciated, for anyone outside of cities 150 miles of range really sucks. Here's to hoping they make a larger vehicle some day with similar styling but a larger battery. :)

That 360 camera is just like playing GTA 1

The New Leaf does exactly the same. It identifies where it can park, it gives you the choice of forwards-in or backwards-in (or parallel park) and it also shows you on-screen every move before and as it does it. The Honda is NOT the only one that does this.

Pull out is for when you parallel parked only. It shows this on the screen as one can see in the video. Also I seen it in another ev chanel ;)

I am guessing, but pull out is only avaible to out by right because in Japan they drive in left... The algorithm is not ready to pull out to the left, only by the right. :) I liked when you said ™look mom without hands... ™ If you had pull out by the right without cancel it you would say ™Look mom whitout teeth... ™ Nice Video as always. Interesting and informative video. Could it be that it needs a navigation target before pulling out from a parking lot, how should it determine by itself which direction to go?

Overhead view and turning radius is amazing. Not for sale in the US though.

Surely, the 'pull out' feature is for when you've driven forwards into a bay and need help driving out between two cars when your visibility would be blocked?

can you take a video on how far the tyres come out when you turn the wheel and compare it to model 3? that turning radius is sick

"Pulling out" gets you into trouble!

In the UK the problem with this car is the price. It is an expensive car here and not many people want to spend huge amounts on a city car. If they decide to keep the numbers low they will sell to wealthy people looking for something different as a second car but definitely not one for the masses.

based on the pullout graphics, its only for parallel parking, and it kinda makes sense, since it does require some "complicated" manouver, while normal parking, especially if parked in reverse, there is no need for fancy AI, just go! :D

I prefer this auto parking features than other car maker, because it shows what the car will do, where it will stop. For the Xpeng, I do really scare it will crash into something when it reverse.

The pull out feature only seemed to do anything when there was a mapped road to pull out into (regardless of the fact that there was also a grass verge). Perhaps there is a clue there.

Does pull out maybe only work on the road? Might suggest why it would allow pulling out to the right whe you were in the bay as there was a road there. And it kept sating route not available before that.

Maybe try to test it in downtown Oslo? With the tiny parkinggarage @ Aker brygge and so on. Like a citytest for citycars. Since this and the zoe ain't much of a long distance cruisers?

If you really looking for a great auto parking (except Tesla which I never checked myself), then the EQC (and some other recent Mercedes models) will be one of the bests.

'Pull Out'...I suspect you need to check the manual for 'Pull Out' use situations. Probably parallel parking between cars or with a car in front.

From watching this looks like pull out is only for parallel parking, and the software hasn't been finished for LHD vehicles yet (Japan is RHD) Bjørn you might need to wait until you go back to Thailand to test the pull out feature 🤣

Would pull out work if you drive into the space? Maybe Honda thinks that there's no need to have a pull out feature when you're driving out of the space. However the error should read "fool, if you need help driving out of a space, you shouldn't be behind the wheel!"

Why does it still need two turns backwards to park? This can go in one turn you would think?

I think for pullout to work you need to have a destination set in the navigation so it knows in what direction you will want to go.

I find the mirrored image when reversing quite confusing. Check the video from 2:15 for example.

is this car able to pull out with the key? Maybe only forward in a parking centre when a crazy guy blocked my door?

That 360 camera looks really blurry. At least it’s better than the horrendous 360° cameras Honda uses on their Acura RDX model that looks like the imagery is coming from a camera phone from 2003. It is frustrating that Tesla still hasn’t figured out how to stitch together the camera imagery and do some sort of 360° view. I personally believe the biggest downfall of Tesla’s goals to offer autonomous driving in the current models is the lack of front cameras (either a wide angle lens right at the front tip of the car below the Tesla badge, or two cameras: one within each headlight cluster looking left and right to see what’s coming around blind curves). People claim they will have no problem seeing what’s coming, but I don’t believe it. There’s no way without the side firing radar every other company uses for cross traffic detection, and lack of front cameras that Tesla’s vehicles will easily be able to navigate in parking garages or in city centers where buildings and other things routinely block your view of what’s coming perpendicular to the car. People claim the B-pillar cameras will capture what imagery you need, but they’re way far back from the front of the car and would require the vehicle pull into an intersection before it could see what’s coming. The ultrasonic sensors don’t work 100 meters like a radar would, so I think this will be why we never see true self driving in many situations. Interstate/freeway/autobahn on-ramp to off-ramp driving will probably be mostly doable because there are so many less variables. It’s really annoying too because they don’t equip their cars with basic things that even cheap entry level cars are coming with now like the front cameras and real blind spot detection that works in rain, sleet, fog or snow (using radar sensors) vs. Tesla’s camera based method that is very sensitive to either too much or too little light, water on the camera lenses, etc.

How often have I used self-parking in 3yrs with my i3? Twice, mainly to try it out! Mind you, it's nowhere near as good as this Honda. Those visualisations are something for all mfrs to copy. One thing that's needed for a city car is pedestrian warning when reversing out of parking spaces in a carpark.

It makes me even more upset that Tesla made the Model Y turning circle about 12.8m.. totally bonkers... similar with the i-pace 12m turning circle.

I don't really care about small city cars because for those distances i use a bicycle. I can even transport 2 banana boxes on the back of my bicycle... :P It's a fun little car but i don't see the point.

Everything about this car makes it sound like it was built pacifically for small tight streets in Japan.

Reverse parking. Clearly an excellent parking system designed by adults. So why does the car have its charge port in the nose?

Nice to see as a proof-of-concept, but really, if you can't park such a small, nimble car by yourself, you should instruct it to drive you straight to the nearest police station and hand in your driving license. Honda should make a bare-bones version without the electronic babysitters and drop the price of that version to a more competitive level.

People still seem to think the Honda e's turning circle is amazing, but it's not all that great. A smart fortwo has a much smaller turning circle, and so did the Toyota iQ. What's more, I had a Nissan Micra about 20 years ago which had the exact same turning circle as the Honda e, and the micra was a front wheel drive car. The Micra was a bit smaller than the Honda e, nearly 7 inches shorter (173mm) and and 6.5 inches narrower (167mm), but even so, nobody used to rave about it's tight turning circle - it was just normal. Cars are too big nowdays. People also keep saying how small the Honda is, but it's not that small. For example it's only 4 inches (104mm) shorter than a Vauxhall Astra used to be in 1990 (when I had an Astra GTE 2.0 16V), and it's 7.5 inches (194mm) longer and 7 inches (182mm) wider than a Peugeot 205 (I also had a GTI 1.9 in 1989). I like the Honda e though, and I've just had my local Honda salesman phone me - I have a test drive booked for Saturday morning. I can't wait!

how about a city EV with 500 km+? 170 km or less is just not good. and the auto reverse parking does not seem so intelligent, always need two rounds of maneuvers to park in place.

Why do they have to make electric vehicles so ugly :/
