Honda EB2200X Generator Won't Start 

My first thought is a carb clean

Kind of a small trademark now

I can't imagine billing a customer for not going it an overall checkup

@@BrucesShop Actually saying the customer got billed for carb work etc. but the shop could not excite the stator to produce power so they didnt check that first like you did. Basically generator got demagged now engine runs but generator useless , guess it could happen but not if checked the way you did.

You know for me the hertz setting goes out the window when i get to the voltage setting. I don't know how to manage both. ???

After the video I turned the RPM down to 3400. Thanks for the suggestions. I should have caught that.

@@BrucesShop You should set RPM around 3600 for 60Hz and 3000rpm for 50Hz (both for "standard" little 2 poles generator). You can adjust the voltage on versions with AVR regulator, otherwise the voltage is what it is; can't do much about it.

@@BrucesShop yes they are going crazy 2 pads gives him opprotunity to launch all the time they had the new rocket from nasa on pad doing a pre launch test last week its taller than the 1970s saturn rocket i might have to walk to the beach to see that 1rst launch

Yes it will 0-30 psi will work

Since i got the pressure tester i can fix way more things. It was just a plastic seat that needed a little buffing, thanks

@@BrucesShop I was thinking that the seat needed attention once the needle swap yielded no change. I’m so proud of myself today. My thought process matched Bruce!! I have learned a thing or 2.

I've taken apart several genuine Honda carburetors that show no evidence of having been opened. They had only a single idle orifice o-ring, with a second empty groove. Even if they had been serviced, there were no other parts mangled or missing. It seem unlikely that someone would otherwise carefully service the carb but omit installing an o-ring. It appears that the second o-ring is optional, intended for redundancy or retention rather than carburetor functionality.

This one was rubber.

@@BrucesShopyou must be referring to nrwer inverter models. Old school portable gens needs to run at a nominal 3600 RPM so the line frequency stays at or near 60Hz. If you runj that gen at 3900 RPM, the frequency would be 65 Hz. That may cause power tools with a motor to spin faster and draw more current.

@@BrucesShop that's a bonus! I tried a spray bottle and it worked but 3 different bottles had the same problem, evaporation from the gas created a tiny bit of pressure in the bottle and caused them to drip.

You are right. Generators can have a low oil alarm even when down a cup or less. Thanks for the heads up. I check that when they come it. It may not have been on that video.

Well they all have a low oil sensor. Even if they are a cup low they will do that. I also may need a carb clean,

@@BrucesShop brand new carb. If I crank the gen with the appliance in the on position it will crank and run it fine. If I crank it then turn the appliance on it kills the engine.

Yes. On one attempt i think I did put the needle in the seat without rinsing it.

Is it the low oil shut down? However that wire should come out of the block. You can Google the model #

Great point! I use it when I can clean them by hand. It is time consuming to heat it up.

After you get going it is still 90% carbs.

It is harder to make a video than one would think.

The Chinese stuff is copies of Hondas, so... it's not about the engineers, it's about workmanship, quality control tolerance and raw materials. It's worth noting that the Chinese aren't copying Briggs & Stratton or Kohler. They know who to cheat off of.

@@andyhamilton8940 True I don't worry about it as it is just the throttle that determines the output voltage and the Hertz. They won't run along side the grid. If they are at 61 Hertz it won't mess anything up. A clock will run at one second fast every minute but when using a genset most folks just need juice for a short period of time. James Condon is better at that than i am though.

Yes. The are the first ones to clog up after the winter of sitting around. Small orifices
