So many good things here! Nice job! I use a dremel with a cupped wire brush to scrub the bowl. Really gets the grit/rust/oxidation off. Loved the polishing of the seat. A dental pick will pull that gasket off, too. Probably best off leaving it in place, though. If it’s not really broken…..something something.
Certain carbs are screw in type. I'm not sure which ones. The non- screw-in types can still be removed. Emulsion tube is supposed to come out but I rarely try for fear of damaging it.
@romeparrilla8307 0 seconds ago nice video,i do have a Honda Express nc50 with a missing stock air filter.i could never find an after market cone air filter with a 25mm carb opening,i did found one but its too small,i want it a bigger one.most of them they sell on line were 28mm and up,any idea?thanks...
I once used berryman b12 chemtool carb cleaner helps jets I rember watching your original video you'd shine a light into the jets to show they are clear also it you can find them welding tip cleaners work wonders
Yes, I should've shined a flashlight through them to check. I'll look into the welding tip cleaners. I noticed when I put the carb back on the bike that one of the studs was unscrewing as I tightened the bolt. I bet I've got an air leak there. Stay tuned.
@churioz26 yes ! I've had that issue ! I ended up having a stripped out bolt I tried two nuts and ended up replacing the bolt the studs longer now so getting the nut on is kinda hard , haha
I noticed that on my 79 na50 it doesn't have the o rings you mentioned, and I looked at the parts diagram on my shop manual and it doesn't show them. Todd luck with it.
Ugh...you make it look so easy, my 81 express SR only runs while sprayed with starter fluid. Are you near Chicago to take on another ? Does it need a battery to run ? My battery is toast
I'm in Columbus, Ohio. It doesn't need a battery to run but Honda wired them so that the battery connection completes the circuit. On the SR, if there's a four pronged battery plug, you have to use a jumper wire between the lower two prongs to complete that circuit. Running without battery will blow the headlight bulb and tail light bulb though.
Would you know a good aftermarket carburetor for my na50? I have one but it doesn’t work, meaning that it runs on choke for a few seconds and won’t rev either. I think the jet might be too small?
