Thank you so much for this video - over three years later and you are still saving people hundreds of dollars! This is a $300-$400 job (2014 Honda Odyssey) at a local dealership; I bought the bulb (and a small pry tool) on Amazon and my wife installed it in less than 5 minutes while watching your video.
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH for this video!!! The repair cost me less than $12 for the bulb and shipping, and took less than 5 minutes to do. You actually don't even need to remove that side panel. I found that I could easily reach the back of the assembly to push it out by reaching up from under the dashboard. If anyone is interested, the Honda part number for this specific bulb is 35856-TK8-A02. Cheers!
Thank you very much. I did this once before on my 2016 Ody but forgot exactly how. After searching and skimming through videos of people droning on and on and not actually doing anything, I was glad to find your video. Short and to the point. I swapped bulbs in less than 2 minutes from the time I opened the car door until the time I told my wife "done" Thanks again
You saved me a load of money and time. Just a quick note for some of the viewers, my 2015 model didn't have a side panel to pop open. I reached under the dash and could feel two tabs on the side of the unit and squeezed and it just popped out.
Yes! This fixed it! Found this also in the Odyssey Club Part Nos: 35856-TK8-A02 Bulb B (the top bulb) - this is blue 35855-TK8-A01 Bulb A (the bottom bulb) - this is green
Solved my issue with a $5 bulb! Thanks so much. Plus, the way you access the bulb is so simple (compared to other videos on RU-vid where they say to reach under the dash). Thanks man!!
Thank you, I ended up replacing the whole switch for $30 without taking it into the dealership - so thank you for the simple how-to, you just saved me $100 I’m sure.
Couldn’t find the bulb on Amazon, Autozone or Advance Autoparts so there is no choice but to buy them from a Honda website. eBay wasn’t a better deal either with shipping price or total price. Supposed to get my bulb next week and hopefully this problem is solved until next time
Great video man!! Looks like a super easy fix. I'm going to try this out b/c I can't imagine how much Honda would charge to "diagnose & fix" this. Probably why that thing causes an alarm, more money for Honda :-/ So THANKS!!!
Prying in between the two clips might work in California, but somewhere cold, you're liable to snap them right off. For caution's sake, you really want to pry right where the clips are...which this video shows, so thanks!
Great video thank you. I have changed the upper bulb out of 3 and censor problem has fixed but now I do not have light coming on at night at my front panel not the dash board but the area where we have all the switches for heat , ac or audio for 2014 Odyssey. Can not see any thing at night. Can any one help what needs to be done for this. One one post I saw were suggesting to change all 3 bulbs in that censor button.
This just happened to my van. Did the package you bought come with 3 bulbs or just one? If you don't mind post the part number too thanks for the video got my thumbs up
Thank you for this video, I have the same error on my Odyssey 2011 but the light bulb works fine for me when I turn on/off the park assist button. I also noticed that my odyssey rare sensors are not working but front sensors do beep when I get closer to an object. Does anyone in the comment section know if changing the bulb will fix the problem? Thanks in advance.
Sorry, I meant when the sonar is triggered and supposed to beep. Apparently it is working. I couldn't hear the beeping. My hearing sucks due to firearms and car stereos in the 90s.
